up .6 lbs. I'm not worried though. I have been even pretty well this week. However, I have PMS and feel extremely bloated--more than usual. So I'm hoping to see the scale move down a little in a few days.

Fantastic news about your blood pressure. Congrats on your hard work to get it down. That's a big decrease.

down 1.2 lbs on this detox. I don't feel hungry because I'm not missing meals. Just replaced processed foods with lots of fruits and veggies. My time on the detox officially ends on Wednesday but I plan to continue the good habits.

Not worried. Today I started the Clean cleanse. I just had a green smoothie with kale, chia seeds, avocado, and carrots. The cleanse is designed to be for 21 days but because of scheduling my boyfriend and I can only do 10 days right now. We plan to do a full 21 days by June.

We took our measurements and took pictures--so we'll see how it goes!

lost 1.4 lbs!
Sorry I didn't weigh in last week because I had gone out to the Chinese buffet the night before and didn't want to make myself depressed by getting on the scale the next morning. But I've been eating really healthy all week to get back down.

Also my Monday weigh in's have also been working to keep me in check over the weekend. I have another party this weekend but I've been conscious of that Monday weigh in and making sure I don't over do it.

I have trouble staying on track on weekends also. I needed something tangible to keep me going so I came up with this idea. If you don't have extra snacks/drinks in a day your saving money-right. So every day that I keep on track with the diet I figured I'm saving 5 dollars from not consuming those snacks; I put the five dollars that I saved in a jar. (I never have cash on me so I use pennies...the pennies symbolize dollars) Once I fill the jar completely with pennies, I will count them all up and that is how many dollars that I get to use to go shopping for a hot new swimsuit to show off my newly fit body. :)

No change this week. That's ok.
I attended 2 parties last weekend and my weight went up and I was really careful this week and got it to go down again. I'm tired of gaining and losing the same 2-3 lbs. Weekends are a challenge for me because there are special events and such.

I have partnered with one of my girlfriends to do Monday weigh-ins in addition to my Friday weekends. The idea is that knowing that I have to weigh in on Monday will motivate me to eat more carefully through the weekend (instead of seeing that I did well on my Friday weigh in and using that as an excuse to go wild over the weekend. then i have to start all over again on Monday).

What a relief! I've been working hard this week, logging calories, and even managed to get 3 workouts in for the week. I notice I go through different cycles. Sometimes it's so easy for me to get into a routine and stay on track. Other times, like lately, it takes so much focus and effort.

I'm grateful my weight is down. And I'm also grateful to God for so much more. Life is good.

I know my weight isn't the most important thing right now--but I definitely don't want to go too crazy, because it's all weight I will have to lose later on.

Hi Sparkbuddies!
It's been a tough couple of weeks. My weight was up a pound on Friday but I didn't get to log it.

My mother had a stroke and she's in a nursing home. I have been working tons, taking 2 classes, and when I'm not doing that--I'm at the nursing home. It's been physically and emotionally exhausting and I have found myself eating--emotional eating and eating because I'm tired and want to stay awake. The late nights have been the toughest. Some nights I get home after 10:00 pm but I can't get to bed until after midnight even though I need to wake up at 6:00 am. I walk in the door and whether I'm hungry or not, the first thing I do is eat.

I've been sleep deprived and so busy I can't tell which way is up. It's no surprise this has affected my healthy habits. I haven't exercised in nearly 2 weeks until today and I haven't been logging my food. I know that I can't let the various situations take a toll on me and my life. I recognize that rough spots happen but I can contain or eliminate the damage if I make a conscious effort. It also means I can't feel guilty or sorry for myself.

No matter what challenges arise, all we can ever do is keep getting back on track. If I'm waiting for it to be smooth sailing and never have to pay attention to what I eat, then I'm living in a fantasy world. Making healthy choices is what I need to do with each meal, for the rest of my life. Sometimes life knocks me off track, but as soon as I realize it the only thing I need to do is get back on again.

I'm getting back on track today. I trust all my Sparkbuddies are doing well. Just keep at it and know that the challenges are all part of the journey. There's not necessarily a way to escape them, but we can learn how to overcome them.

I went to the doctor yesterday and blood pressure is at a rise. Increase one of my medicine(which I only take two) so my challenge(chips, cookies, cakes, chocolate and candy) is more than a challenge its my life. Keep me in your prays I will keep you in mines. I will keep you all updated.

Obviously not happy about it and frankly a little surprised. I've been tracking my calories all week and I did ok. Unfortunately I only managed to work out 2 times this week. It will be 3 times counting tomorrow's work. I have been exhausted from PMS and actually feel about 5 lbs heavier than the scale says.

After I stepped on the scale the thought crossed my mind, "I might as well eat whatever I want today." It was probably a mix of PMS and the increase on the scale. But I caught myself and reminded myself that I need to stay on track and just keep it.

Morning Muttjr and everyone else!
We weigh in once a week on Fridays and then check in as needed for support and to vent.

I'm down 1.2 lbs! yay me! I had hoped for more but I'll take it. I had a meal out at a restaurant this week which slowed my progress. I tried to be conscious while eating and stopped when satisfied rather than full, but I know that my calorie count that day was about 2200. I did get back on track right away.

It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm afraid to eat cake! I know its ridiculous. Special events and eating out is going to happen no matter what, so I have to learn how to deal with them. I truly believe no foods are off limits but I have to be conscious, not mindless, while eating. I have to stop when I am satisfied and then balance my choices so I'm not eating lots of rich foods at once. I also need to recognize when I'm around my trigger foods and have strategies to control myself. For instance, filling up on veggies or having soup will prevent me from eating as much of the trigger foods. I will keep losing weight and I have to learn how to do it even when life throws me curveballs.

I'm 3 lbs from my pre-holiday weight and determined to push through it and continue working towards my goal weight this year!

After a whirlwind holiday season of eating just about anything that caught my fancy, the scale is up. Surprise, surprise. Thankfully, I'm back on track now. Even that was an effort. I spent the last couple days detoxing from all the sugar and carbs. Now that I have, my cravings are gone and I don't feel like eating everything in sight. This makes it easier to control my eating going forward.

of course, as luck would have it I am going on a weeklong work trip starting on Sunday. But I refuse to let this ruin my efforts. I will be ordering soups, salads, eating only one of the slices of bread that come with my meal, ordering extra veggies to replace the pasta or rice, etc. The tough part is that eating out is a big temptation and I don't care if I'm perfect--but I can't go hog-wild either.

Thanks for your honesty. It's not easy. I feel the exact same way. I had so much rich food this week--Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day after Christmas.... I have definitely gained weight but I am not weighing myself today. I need a week of being back on track before I can look at the scale.

Not sure why I want to eat everything in sight, even when I'm not really hungry. Like for some reason I want to feel really full and salty food. I'm sure its emotional eating--because its definitely not hunger.

Haven't been keeping my food log either this week and I know that has a lot to do it. Mindless eating. Gotta tighten up!

It's totally possible Queen. The good news is that part of it is probably water weight. Don't be discouraged. When I gained 5-6 lbs over Thanksgiving weekend I felt like throwing my hands up and just giving into the holidays. I figured I'll eat whatever I want and then just work on losing it after the holidays. Then I started reminding myself that every pound I gain requires so much more effort to lose. I decided I wouldn't let it get worse and started eating extra carefully/mindfully so that I could have a holiday treat here and there. Hang in there! Drink lots of water and limit your salt intake and you'll drop some of that water weight soon. The rest is just good ole' fashion healthy habits.

I'm down 2.5 lbs this week. It's a miracle because the scale was going in the wrong direction since Thanksgiving. I started feeling really sluggish and I could feel myself beginning to not care anymore. But I knew I would regret it and have been eating lots of salads or small servings of foods I like. I even went to a party and had 3 or 4 rich appetizers then stopped myself and drank to keep my mouth occupied.

This is a challenging time of year and I think it's natural to see the scale move around a bit, but when we see that we have to come up with a plan to stop it so it doesn't get out of hand.

We can do this!!

Hi Queen!
Congrats on staying the same. I'm up 3.8 lbs. Thanksgiving was a real doozy. At one point I was up almost 8 lbs. I wanted to cry. Some of that was water weight from all the salty food I ate. The rest of it was simply eating too much. Since Thanksgiving I've been doing pretty good eating healthy but I've been dreading the holiday special occasions because I have a hard time controlling myself with all the special tempting foods. I refuse to buy new clothes because of a couple weeks during the holidays--which otherwise happen to be my favorite time of the year!

I'm determined to get things back under control and have a strategy for these special events. One of the things that has worked for me in the past is to have a healthy snack before I go--like fruit, soup, salad, even a sandwich. That way I can sample the goodies but not get overwhelmed by them and try to make a dinner out of h'ordevours.

Anyway, Have a great week Queen--and everyone else that's working at this. The holidays are challenging but I believe we can enjoy them without weight gain if we have a strategy. I'm putting my theory to the test this weekend.

My pants are definitely feeling tighter after this weekend. I did NOT weigh myself on Friday, intentionally. I knew it would make me feel down. Instead I'm logging my calories and working on getting rid of my carb cravings by eating lots of protein and fresh veggies to get on track. We'll see what the damage is this Friday.

Hang in there people--the next couple weeks are challenging for most of us, but we can do it. Just keep getting back on the horse!

Happiness..I am also looking forward to loss last 30 lb. I am been working on since 4 month but I have not loss a bit. I do get disappoint sometimes but then I get most of my motivation from my SP friends & members and then I start back again. I wish you luck to loss 20 lb. Just keep working on and you will see some results. And do not worry if you have healthy BMI & your waist is under 32 inch (that's what healthy waist line is).

I skipped weight in this week. I am sure I have no change in my weight . Queen don't worry my scale is not moving since 4 month. I do see my clothes are fitting well, although I don't see any changes in waist inches. I did see changes in my arm and thigh (total loss 5 inch). I was frustrated all the time but then I found out about strength exercise and it made me loss 5 inch and I am happy with it.

Thx DEBORAH26... I'm eating salad mostly... no canned food.. some fruit and yogurt.. and I'm very active since I'm a mother of 3! and i do workout almost every night after putting the kids to beds... and i keep tracking of what i eat.. every single item i immediately add it to my list, so not to exceed the daily allowance.. but to be honest.. not having a perfect sleep, may be this is the case.. i will try to change it.

down 4 lbs this week. Of course, at least half of it is water weight. I've had PMS so when I weighed myself last week I was eating lots of salty food. I tried to cut down on the salt this week (less deli meat, canned food) and drink lots of water. It seemed to help.

Welcome Girlstimes! It's frustrating to feel like you're not making progress. Sometimes the smallest tweak can make the biggest difference. Are you eating salty foods? do you drink enough water? are you getting enough sleep? It sounds like you're logging foods since you know you're calorie count--maybe look at exactly what you're eating to see if there's something there.

HI there.. i joint sparkpeople abt a month ago... i lost 4 lb since then, but my wt started to swing between 197 -196.. i never exceed 1000 cal per day and i'm doing treadmill every day 45 min to an hr.. just don't know what's the problem!! hope all of us reach out goals soon.

My weight is up 2.5 lbs. As usual, it's no mystery: eating too much of the wrong things (darn Halloween candy makes me crave even more bad carbs & sugars) and not exercising enough. Last Wednesday I started a program of waking up at 6:00 pm to fit my work out in. Although I hate to admit it, the early morning is best time to schedule this stuff, otherwise very good reasons/excuses intrude on my exercise plans. And when I'm exercising regularly I am naturally more aware of what I'm eating.

This morning I turned down the giant bag of Halloween candy that my co-worker brought in. I have apples, sliced green peppers & light blue cheese dressing dip for snacks. I also woke up at 6:15 this morning to work out.

The most important this is to just keep picking myself up and getting back on track. I hope you all have a great week!

Hi all,

I've managed to drop 15 pounds since April but I'm definitely starting to plateu out. A big part of that is I'm about halfway done one of my last semesters at Uni so the workload is really starting to stress me out.

I still exercise all the time (at least 30 minutes of cardio 6 times a week) but I have't been eating very well. I'm starting to stress-eat in the evenings since I can never seem to bring enough with me to campus. Help!

I can tell you I have had the worst eating day possible! Aunt Flow will be here any day and i am just full of pm miserable and in a terrible mood.

I too will be back on track on Monday.

Dear Queenclaud, I have heard that if you stay in sea salt water your BP will get down in few min. Next time just add some sea salt in your bath tub and relex for a few min. Listen romantic or lite song. I hope your BP will come down soon. Take care

Hello all!! I haven't been around in awhile because well I haven't been keeping track of what I have been eating as much. hardly any exercise for a couple weeks now.. I was sick sore throat fever but starting to feel better now.. Getting back on track. Still lost 2 lbs in 4 weeks which is alright but not the slow rate I really wanted. Anyway a loss is a loss and I am happy about that..

Crazy work week this week but I have food all made up preplanning is the best for me!

I know what you are talking about. I'm eating anything and everything but the only good thing about this is since I've been working I've been averaging 7 miles daily walking to, at work and from work. My weight is dropping (down 5) but blood pressure is rising. Planning on make a change tomorrow. 10/7/12 Pray for me. This computer has been acting up also. so I hope I talk to you next week.

I've been off my program as demonstrated by my erratic posting. I haven't been keeping my food log and on top of it I've been doing lots of emotional eating this week. I felt like i couldn't stop eating...no matter how full I was. Emotional eating is so strange. I would tell myself I wouldn't eat after dinner but found myself making a snack and then eating in the middle of the night. I have been stressed, my schedule has been nuts, and because of that I haven't worked out in like 3 weeks. i feel sluggish, tired, and generally down. My body is actually missing exercise!

Anyway, I'm determined to get back on track this week. I know what I need to do.
