The good news when it comes to weight loss is that the majority of your progress comes from diet, not exercise. So you can still lose if you're consistently tracking your food and staying in your recommended calorie and nutrients, even if you can't exercise right now. 8 days really isn't enough time to know whether or not you'll be able to keep losing at this point, but I would focus most on making healthy food choices and giving your body time to recover. Then when your doctor gives you the "all-clear", you'll be able to resume activity again.
