Most of my thrown together snacks involve crunch. I can only do so many yogurts and that ilk. And with IBS, i cant always do celery or carrots. So i do dry cereal or pretzel sticks and try all kinds of things with them.

Sprinklings of nuts and/or granola could add crunch to said apple dish ... :-)

used the ideas i read and came up with tonight's snack. less than 200 calories, plus hot, plus crunchy!!!! peeled and sliced an apple (did two) and put into a pam'd iron skillet with a little water. over it i sprinkled an instant oatmeal packet. the little water softened the oatmeal that fell between the apple slices and the oatmeal on top turned into the crunch. then i baked this mixture 350 for 45 minutes until the apple softened. ate one half of this - basically one apple without skin and one half an oatmeal packet. it was good. and hot. and crunchy.

a serving of air popped popcorn seasoned with whatever spices you like from your pantry. And a tbsp of chocolate chips.

I've cut up peaches (you could easily use pears, apples, etc), drizzled them with a little honey, and topped them with some granola or Kashi crunch cereal and cooked them in the oven until soft.

Something I eat A LOT, especially when I'm having a strong sweet tooth, is Chobani Flips. They have one that tastes exactly like Key Lime Pie, and another that tastes so devilishly good called Coco-Loco. There are various flavors and all have candy pieces or granola and nut pieces in them. They range from about 190-260 calories. Even if you are not a fan of yogurt, I highly recommend trying one. The two I listed are the best. There are some other flavors that are good, and some that are just so-so. I always feel like I'm cheating when I have one. :)

I like crunch too. Wonder if you could add some oatmeal or cold cereal. It wouldn't add many calories and it would be crunchy.

now that's what i'm talking about. sounds good. i can usually get creative and put stuff together but i'm just burned out. usually i'm not happy unless there's a "crunch" involved. but your suggestion is hot. so if i can't have crunch, i'll settle for something hot. thanks.

I just did this. Sliced an apple. Stirred together tsp sugar, tsp water, half tsp. cinnamon, half tsp. cornstarch. Put it in a small loosely covered bowl and microwave for 2 minutes. Does NOT taste like it's from your meal plan. Still legal at 70ish calories. Almost like apple pie.
