It's hard to pin down my biggest motivator. I started out running because I always wanted to run a half marathon and I did that a couple years ago with a friend. That same friend (lives quite a ways away from me) is still motivating me by suggesting future races we could do together.
And I discovered I love running.
I also discovered I hate being injured and injuries are very demotivational...
But mostly, I like running and I like doing these races with my friends. And that spawned some blog posts. Which started getting me Spark friends. And that helped me keep coming back.
And because I want to run better, I eat better. And eating better involves tracking my nutrition here.
And to be fair, I like my monthly fitness minutes awards - put me in the shiny gold star category, I guess, but it helps me stay motivated and I'm working towards someday actually getting a 1000 minute award.
And all of these little things added up to a huge spring in my step. Between knowing that my pants are getting bigger (even if no one else can see it) to pushing myself further in the C25K training, to finishing the C25K program and running a 5K, it's become a source of pride for me, regardless of what the scale says.
And I think that's really the answer. My motivation is feeling proud of myself. Every day.
