Many people see a gift or offering of food as an expression of love. My grandmother for example (god rest her soul). She would give me all manner of tasty, homemade treats. I loved her for it.
They aren't handing you trigger foods because they want to see you fail. They are handing them to you, because they know you like those foods.
Tell them you appreciate the gift, and then save it for later...or give it to someone who wants it. It's okay to say "I'm not hungry right now, but I will enjoy this later."
