My schedule is a bit similar to yours - I'm up at 5 and don't get home until 5:30-ish. I always have a snack before I leave the office - usually around 3pm or so. This helps stave of the starving feeling when I get home.
I'm also exhausted when I get home, but I make myself go to the gym - I have to. Sometimes it's frustrating because by the time I finish at the gym, make dinner, eat dinner, clean up and get ready for bed, I'm not actually getting to bed until 10 and not falling asleep until 11 which leaves me short on sleep.
I don't do classes at the gym because that forces me to a schedule I just can't keep so I run and do strength training and I try not to be more than 45 minutes total at the gym. I've given up a lot of things I used to like to do in order to do this so it's a good thing I like it!
