Journal. It really helps to let go of the negative things and enforce the good things.
Write down 3 good choices you've made every day.
Set mini goals (daily/weekly/monthly). Making progress will reinforce your journey.

Of course, you can always come to Spark for support & motivation!

There's a saying: "Wherever you go, there you are."
Meaning, the one commonality of wherever you go, whatever environment you live in, be it where you are now or half way around the world, alone or with others - is YOU.

YOU get to decide what degree, if any, you will *let* the outside negativity affect you.
I framed the word *let* because I know it isn't always easy! Stuff happens, and sometimes that "stuff" may include naysayers.

Try your hardest not to let other's negativity get you down. I found for me, anyway, it's imperative I stay as positive as I can. Like the others mentioned, think of why you are doing this; know you are so worth it, and imagine yourself so proud when you achieve your various triumphs. Make sure you celebrate/ reward your achievements! Post them on the Woo-Hoo board so we can cheer you on.
Who knows? Your post could inspire someone else!

Speaking of, do read & post to other's msgs on the msg boards. It not only cheers them but benefits you. Keeps you focused and on track.
Read all the success stories and envision that one day, that could be YOU.

Good luck!

Those are great suggestions, and I hope they help you.

I know for me, I just keep focused on WHY I want to do this. I want to feel good, feel strong, feel healthy, live a long life, play with my grandkids, play with my husband, and even more, when we are old and retired I want to PLAY. I don't want to just sit and watch tv because we are too out of shape to do anything!

Keep those reasons close to you. Keep focused on them. When someone says or does something discouraging, use it to fuel your fire.

Hi there: Hope everyone is enjoying their day. I wanted some advice on staying motivated. I live in a home with a lot of negativity and it makes it harder to stay on track and be healthy. These people in my life have a way of crushing my spirit. Any advice on how I can stay strong? Thanks a lot! God bless

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!
