In my household (of only two) I am in charge of the cooking, mostly. So, I fix healthy meals that I can eat, and have gradually taught my SO to not bring home certain things as "treats". At home, as far as bad eating goes, I'm my own worst enemy, so it's my own fault if I decide I'm going to eat poorly.
When it's a question of eating at other people's homes, there are a few different things I do, but mainly I rely on portion control. I'll eat anything & be a good and appreciative guest, I just won't eat a lot of it, and say "oh, I can't, I'm so stuffed, it's marvelous" a lot.
