There is no doubt in my mind that eating carbs makes me want carbs.
I've been doing ok by staying away from most of the GOOD stuff: no/very little bread, pasta, rice, baked goods, sweetened drinks, or candy.
My belly dance teacher has been quoted as calling white, processed food " a gateway drug" !
That being said, I'm not a low carb/no carb eater either. I just find I get plenty in my fruits, veggies, dairy, and almond milk.
There is some element of NOT wanting to put something in your mouth more than you WANT to. I think it gets easier as you develop better habits (like bringing a big bowl of veggies to munch on with me to work every day) and break out of bad ones (like grabbing a 20 oz coffee with cream and sugar and a giant cookie every afternoon).
In the meantime, use some little tricks: tell yourself to wait 10 min, if you still want it, then you can have it (then go do something else).
Or let yourself have a SMALL piece only after you have eaten and drank plenty of good stuff first.
Or make yourself a promise to do an extra 10 min of exercise for every naughty bite.
Or scour recipes and articles for things you can substitute for what you want. Cocoa dusted Almonds are really good. So is fat free, sugar free pudding.
