I had the same sort of "epiphany" this morning when I checked my weight records from a year ago, and found that, despite my many months of maintaining (a lot of stress regarding my employment since last fall), or waffling one side or the other by a pound or two; I'm down 28 pounds since a year ago.

The clothing I bought at that time, which was rather tight, is either too loose now, or hanging loosely. The pants I had bought were rather snug, and now I need a belt on them, because I can pull them on and off without undoing the button

That is a great idea. Clothes are often a good measure of how we are doing. There are other NSV (non scale victories) as well and those are often the things that keep us going when the scales are recalcitrant and refusing to budge.

With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

I was just thinking about the times that I lose weight but was upset because looking in the mirror, I saw no change. That changed when I tried on an old pair of pants and they actually buttoned! Still a bit too tight to wear out but hey i havent been able to button them since High School, so its still an accomplishment. So even if your not seeing the pounds lost in your appearance you'd be surprised. Sorry I'm rambling the whole point of this is that I believe everyone should have "tester jeans." If you don't go find a pair that are a little too small, try them on and write down details about how they fit (or take a picture.) Then try them on later. You could wait two weeks, 1 month, 1 year. Whatever you feel. Its a great visual.

Remember why you started.
