Everyone pretty much touched on it, but you have to make healthy habits and stick to them all the time, not just monday through Friday. Sure, it is okay to splurge for a meal or something, but if you want to create a healthy lifestyle, it isn't about cheating as often as you can!

I take advantage that my son is sleeping and hit the gym before he wakes up..
I use free weekends to make food that I don't have time to during the week..
I go for a long walk and keep myself busy with stuff like laundry and chores..
I don't purchase any junkfood so if I hit the fridge it is only good stuff in it..
I can't eat what isn't hanging around whispering to me..

Fitness is a battle, welcome to the frontline.
Suit up and fight for your life. War is war, no matter what front your fighting..

I treat weekends like any other day, planning meals regardless of what I'm doing or where I'm going. If I'm going to a particular restaurant, I go online & check menu or call & get information. I've taken my own foods to gatherings in order to stay on task. Plus, I don't drink alcohol--never have (never acquired a taste)--so am always drinking water (since I don't drink sodas either). If I DID drink alcohol or sodas, I'd make sure to keep it to one drink once a week so I wouldn't feel deprived. If anyone thinks they can continue to party & drink whatever & still get healthy & fit (like one of the gals I remember on The Biggest Loser a few years ago), it ain't gonna happen. But..... emoticon

Love weekends, but find it hard to deal with the social gathers, dinners at friend homes, potluck at church! Trying to make healthy choices!

Remember to take time to enjoy the journey! Pam

I use my weekends to stay busy and prepare for the week ahead, often.
It's not that I don't spend some time for things that I wouldn't get chance to do through the week, but I do try to ensure my success by making sure the week ahead WILL be a success by preparing meals, etc.

Thank you guys!! I went out for dinner with friends tonight, and I still stayed on track and made a super good decision: I ate an Asparagus Sushi Roll. =) I think slowly I'm getting how to eat wisely!

Start focusing on healthy choices. It's okay to go out to eat, but you need to be smart. Ask for a to-go box, and immediately portion out your food. Choose wisely; if you're going to a mexican place, either skip the tortillas or the rice, but don't do both. Get the chicken instead of the steak.

Plan ahead, and look at the restaurants' menus to plan what your best options are. It's easier to stay on track when you plan when you're not hungry and surrounded by friends.

Why are you working out so much on the weekends? Exercise is good, but it won't counteract a bad diet.

TRACK EVERYTHING. Even if you don't want to, track anyway.

My health has no concept of time. it doesn't care. It wants sleep, it wants good healthy food, it wants good healthy movement. It wants the perfect environment to thrive in. Health has no concept of weekend. Therefore, I listen to my health talking to me vs my mind. Definitely not easy and i falter every now and then for sure. But in the long run keeping some routine helps.

Hey!!
I'm always super excited for the weekend; I literally LOVE weekends! - You don't have to do anything, and you have a lot of time to spend with your friends, to party or to relax.
But the weekend also has its "bad" point: More free time = more time to eat, more time with friends = more eating out & unhealthy food.....
On the weekends I work out everyday (Friday-Sunday) for 1h 30min or more, but I still feel like at the end I'm gaining weight...
Does anybody have some tips&tricks how to eat healthy and not too much on the weekends he/she would like to share??

Thanks!!
