What a great image that provided -- it is so true and so often we do to ourselves what we would NEVER think of doing to other people we care about or even something like that china set. We need to start placing our OWN value back on our lists. We are worthy to be loved. We are worth the effort. We are not "garbage" just because we are not perfect - NOBODY is PERFECT but we are WORTHY regardless of how imperfect we are. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS AND THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED TO IT.
With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

Great analogy! Thanks for sharing!

Good!! I think it's a sign of maturity....I've done silly things in my life, too...I'm sure everyone has or they might just not be being completely truthful!! It's always easier to blame someone else for what happens...when there really shouldn't be any blame at all. Now, it's just "roll with the punches" and live with it. I always figure that what's done is over and why let it make you unhappy.

I like this analogy a lot! When you say it with reference to precious china, it sounds so.... ludicrous, unthinkable, pointlessly destructive.... and yet that it what we do to our own bodies, which are a lot more precious than any set of tableware ever could be!

Thanks Rebcca. I'm not using the china at the moment... I'm in the process of relocating to Utah since getting married last July and it is a state away! Fear doesn't work well for me at all! Thanks for your reminder of having clear goals and plans. Much better way to go on this healthy journey!

Hello JPANNELL0, "Throwing out the baby with the bath water" is never what we want to do. I hope you are using your beautiful fine china to add to the quality of your mindful dining experiences. Fear can motivate but it works so much better for me to look ahead and free myself from the mistakes of the past even from my thinking. I use positive affirmations to move forward. Having clear goals and plans to navigate the twists, turns and bumps successfully is a great strategy!

You know, that's really a fantastic analogy. Too many of us "destroy the whole set" because there's a small flaw or a simple mistake! There's no room for perfection on the journey to healthy living. This isn't all or nothing!
