I'm sure others will say something similar. There's also "work smarter, not harder", which can be difficult to plan into a busy life, but in terms of fitness, that's intensity over length of working out, in terms of diet/food that's cooking batches and/or having things that can roast in the oven or cook in the slow cooker.
But as DIDS70 said, get the kids involved. Offload some of that work!
