It's so frustrating when people do that. It happened to me so much I named my blog after it. ;)
I am pleased to report that it hasn't happened in over a year, now!
Here's how you lose this weight. It's both simple, and complicated, all at the same time.
EAT LESS THAN YOU BURN!
Yep, that's it. You don't have to "diet" or prevent ourself from having the things you enjoy.
there are tools right here to help you with this. Your goal for this week:
Start tracking your food. I don't mean just guessing, either. Weigh and measure everything! If you don't have a food scale, go get one; you can get a very nice one for less than $20 at Walmart (I paid $14). Don't guess! Only 11% of Americans accurately know what they're eating, and I doubt you're one of them. ;) I know I'm not! Don't try to eyeball it.
Don't worry about "dieting" or restricting yourself. Your goal for this week is to figure out where you are, not where you're going. By tracking for a week without making changes, you KNOW what you are dealing with.
once you've done that, you can start making smart choices and small changes. You know how I started this journey? by mixing my pasta with half whole wheat, and restricting my portions. I could eat whatever I wanted, but I had to eat less of it... no more eating half a pizza, I can only have two!
Over this time, I've started adding more vegetables, more whole grains, and making all around healthier choices about everything.
This isn't all or nothing, either. This isn't a journey of perfection. Make baby steps, and over time, you'll find you start to see them adding up to big changes.
