Have a plan. Sometimes it doesn't matter if it will work or not, just have a plan for the next time it happens. Think. Try anything. Be brave! Its hard work. You can change!
I have several strategies for night hunger. The key for me is think before I eat. If I eat before I think I'm in trouble.
First, I ask myself if I'm really hungry. If I am then I eat something like an apple. If I'm not really hungry then I do something for 5 minutes to distract myself. Wash dishes. Take a shower. Clean up some clutter. Pay the bills. Walk around the block. Play a song and dance to it. Just do something else for 5 minutes.
Sometimes I visualize future me, at the end of the day, in bed, ready for sleep, looking back at a successful day. Its a great short time goal, especially at night. Because I love having one more good day under my belt. I can be there in an hour or two if I just hold on.
Variety works for me, so if it helps, have a lot of strategies ready to try. The key is to plan for it. Sometimes just having a plan gives you the confidence to succeed!!
