Stop acting like you aren't worth the effort.
I spent a lot of years putting basically no effort at all into my appearance -- because I felt like I wasn't worth it. My current (and most successful) weight loss journey didn't start until a few months after I finally decided to start dressing well (and yes, there is a way to dress a very overweight body well!), taking care of things like my hair and makeup, and generally making sure that l looked put-together, not haphazard. The weight loss came later -- once I really started believing I was worth the effort for that, too.
Starting Weight: 260 lbs. (November 2010)
Quasi-Maintenance: 165 lbs. (June 2011)
Goal Weight: 150 lbs. (reached December 8, 2011)
Size 22W to Size 4
Currently maintaining within 5 lbs. (+ or -) of goal. I weigh daily, but also use a tape measure and the fit of my clothes to guage how well I'm doing.
