CRAFTY_LOSER, I am ALL about the short term goals!
I think your ten minutes of exercise is great! I've done that in the past to get me back on track.
Here are some others one's I've used for myself:
Drink 4 glasses of water a day
Eat one vegetable at lunch and one at dinner
Stretch for five minutes a day
Track food religiously
I've also found that the little goals I set for myself, just for me and my fun tend to make me do better with all the health stuff:
Write for ten minutes a day
Paint for ten minutes a day
Read 20 pages of a good book
