While working 2-8, do you need to be in bed by 9:30pm? Do you have an obligation to be awake early? My husband sometimes works until 10pm, so his normal bedtime of 10:30 or 11pm doesn't really work on those days. I guess he is usually just too worked up and needs time for his mind to get sleepy too. You could try drinking hot tea (bigelow brand has a good sleepytime tea with chamomile).
On days when I have a hard time falling asleep, I will get back out of bed if I have been lying down for more than 30 minutes. I read or just sit for awhile in another room and then try going to sleep again after 10 or 15 minutes. Hope this helps. Getting used to a new schedule always messes up my sleep pattern for a little while.

Basic question-- what is your diet like? What are you eating? If it is a lot of processed crap and sugary foods that you may eat while on break, you may be doing bad things for your body. It is taking extra energy to burn the junk off. if you eat healthier-- more fruits and veggies and some good lean protein, your body will be able to digest it better and you will find that you can sleep better.

With yummy healthy things in your system, you will find the energy to get off the couch and exercise and getting to sleep at a decent hour may be in your cards.

:)

I have started new job emoticon . My job is not that interesting - Cashier at grocery store which I am doing since 10 yrs just a different stores / places - I am stuck with all community people / members who wants my help working in there store (they do pay me though). I am working this job since week from 2 to 8. It is not too busy area but people come there for small things to buy ( like small candy, 1 cigar, 1 beer etc) a lot. So that makes me more tired then anything else.

I get off at 8 and come home by 8:15 then dinner and then go to sleep by 9:30. This was my sleep time before I started job. Now I am having really problem in sleeping by 9:30. Some times I go to bed but still feel not sleepy and stay up till midnight. I do feel sleepy when I close my eyes but I don't feel my mind and body are ready for it. And I have to get up before 7 to drop my mom at work. Recently I have find tiredness (due to not getting enough sleep) and with bad mood (I just don't feel I am energetic anymore) .

I have same mood today. I was not able to sleep till 1:30 and then woke up at 6:45. I just don't have energy. I want to exercise but don't want to get up from couch.

EDITED: I do try to stay on my healthy diet almost 95% of my time. I eat fruits if I am hungry at work or at home.
