That happened to me the other night. My husband bought a tray of Butter tarts, one of my weaknesses. They sat in my house an entire week and I didn't even touch them! Pat on the back for me. But then, my husband decided to eat one in front of me... I was like, "you're killing me!" I could taste the flaky crust, the gooey, sweet filling so vividly it was like I had actually eaten one and just as quickly as the craving came, it went.

I was just looking for inspiration, so I'm glad I found your post. I am an emotional eater, and right now I'm doing something that's necessary, but not pleasant, and I so want to find some chocolate. I'll try your strategy of imagining eating it and see if my cravings go away. I hope so! Thanks for the useful post! emoticon

This is a great strategy. I do something like it. I watch food on tv and imagine eating it but I will drink water while I do it. Sometimes I will exercise. But my craving does go away too. Nice to think about it and not gain!

Thanks

in my mind!!! Over the past few weeks since I've been back on sparkpeople after having a baby I have been able to help curb my appetite!! Ive noticed that when I get a craving for something I love --I go back in my mind to a time when I was eating it and I remember the taste and let myself enjoy! After a few moments the craving goes away!!! I even think about how I feel after and how fast the instant gratification goes away!!! I mean is being this uncomfortable in my skin worth just a moments of feeling satisfied because of food!!! Heck no--I rather feel good about how I look and not feel like a fat blob so.....imagine away everyone and see if it can work for you!!!!
