First of all, you need to realize that you're dealing with two different problems. Your finances have nothing to do with your weight loss, and your weight loss has nothing to do with your finances. I have a pretty low income, and we have had times where we could barely afford $30 of groceries for 2 weeks. But you have to remember, that you can still make good choices and workout, even if you're struggling financially. Ever heard the phrase "At least I have my health?" It's true. I think to myself, "Ugh, well if I'm poor and broke, at least I'll be thin." LOL, it helps sometimes.
One time I was at the gym running on the treadmill, and I got an email from the bank saying my bank account was overdrawn. I immediately wanted to stop running, go home and just STRESS over the problem. And then I realized that wouldn't solve anything! I thought, whether I go home now or in 45 minutes, my bank account is going to be the same. The only thing that will be different, is that I'll be disappointed I didn't finish my workout. So I stayed and finished, and felt MUCH better about it. And actually, staying there and staying on the treadmill gave me time to think and figure out what I was going to do about the situation.
Now if you're having trouble finding motivation, that's a totally different problem. You have to find what motivates you. I kind of have a no excuses outlook, because to me, you either want to lose weight or you don't. It's the most important thing to you, or it's not. If you REALLY want to lose weight, you'll focus on what motivates you and inspires you and just GO. You'll run out of steam at times, but that's further down the line. Motivation will get you started, but habit will keep you going.
Keep the sweets out of your house. If you can't resist eating them when you get stressed, you need to make sure they're not around. If there is a chip, a hawaiian sweet roll, a chocolate chip cookie, or a brownie in my house, that shizzle is gonna be gone in 2 days FOR SURE. So I don't keep them around. When you're trying to lose weight, you just can't keep trigger foods around or you're setting yourself up for failure. If you ONLY have apples and grapes to snack on, you'll be less inclined to eat "just because" and more inclined to ask yourself, "Am I really hungry?"
