Before I was kids (age 31 and 34) I always had to be below 130. When I was 128 I was told that I looked anorexic. Now I'm 53, and I would love to be 140. Although being below 150 would feel marvelous I'm sure.

My goal weight is 145. I used to want to be 135, but my doctor told me that was way too low for my body frame. I am a 34DD, so I have to take into account my curves.... A few years ago I got down to 146, which translated to a size 4/size 6 on my body and I LOVED it! Due to giving up artificial sweeteners and not eating right, I gained 25lbs. So...now I am on a mission to get back to where I want to be. We are all more than just a number on the scale. :)

I'm 5'5" and my goal weight is to be between 120-125. I'm currently 130.

I'm 5'5" and till I was 30, I never weighed more than 125. Most people told me I looked too skinny. Although the BMI thing still claims I should weigh 114, even at 51, I suspect around 133 would be about ideal for me.

The funny thing about goal weight is that our body may have another agenda. I am 5"3 and will never be the weight for my height. But how healthy I am on the inside says I have the health of a 18 year old and not a 48 year old. Also as I get older, I have experienced that having more muscle padding has avoided me seriously breaking bones.

I am 5' 5 1/2"'. My lowest weight was ages ago at 126 and I looked terrible. Too thin, drawn face. I am comfortble and happy with how I look about 145. We'll see when I get there.

rule of thumb was 100 pounds for 5 foot and 5 pounds for each inch after. But now you have to consider your age too.

140-165. I haven't been below 175 but felt good and looked good then, so my first goal is 165 and then to go from there.

I have two goals (at 5'5"): 130 and 125. For me 130 would make me feel great and 125 would be the icing on the cake. The way I see it I want to be at a point where my normal weight fluctuations around in the 125 to 130 range. That said, I am currently at 139 and I think I look awesome (A comfortable size 6!! I've never been below a size 12 before)...so awesome that it is tempting to just go into maintenance. I even find myself drifting away from the deficit. I'm working on getting back on track. All that said, what everyone said about muscle etc is something to think about. In my weight loss I haven't been working out much but on June 1 I finally will be living near a gym so I can go. My plan is to work out every day and focus on tone. At that point I'm going to stop tracking weight and focus on tracking body fat percentage.

My goal is 145. I've always been the "fat' girl and began losing weight when I was in my 20's. and when I was in my best shape I was between 145 to 150 (this was the lowest weight I was able to maintain). When people noticed I had lost weight and asked how much I weighed, they would be surprised I was @150! I take into account that have a large frame and full thighs and arms that I have inherited from my grandmother and mom, I'm not too hung up on weight as much and energy level and how fit I feel.

I looked and felt my best at 160 four years ago. The smallest I have ever been in my adult life was 146 and I looked like a skeleton. I have a large frame and at 146, I had no breast, no butt, nothing but a big head. I was on a serious weight loss kick and went over board. Everyone in my small town had put out rumors that I was sick!! I was furious. I gained up to 160 and I felt like a knock out! My goal right now is just to get to Onderland again. I will focus on the rest after I get there!

I agree with what has been said about weight vs. fit. I look better now at 137 then I did when I was in the 120's and not exercising. That being said I am 5'6" and happiest between 125-130 (when also fit). My husband starts to complain when I get under 125 since he does not like me 'bony'. I have big hips so under 125 makes me look disproportionate anyway.

I'm 5'5"-5'6" and according to the scale, I'm anywhere between 140-143lbs depending on the day. People are shocked when I tell them that, so I think it DEFINITELY is much more about how you look and feel and what you're able to do no matter what you weigh.

I am 5'5" and am aiming for 160. When I was 160 I was quite happy. I might be able to do 150 but I know with my build, quite stocky, below 150 would be too low.

I am about 5'5 and think what weight you feel happiest is the best. I have been as low as 115 and too thin. Right now anywhere between 125-135 would make me very happy personally.

I am 5'5" and have a large build. I am stocky, with a lot of muscle, even if there is fat on it. My calves measure larger than average. When I was 145, I saw a picture of myself and thought I looked too small. I think a happy weight for me would be about 165-170.

A woman weighing 150 pounds with 19% fat will look much smaller (and be much healthier) than a woman at 150 pounds with 35% fat. They weigh the same, yet the composition is different. Because muscle is more dense than fat the person with less fat and more muscle will look smaller. Stop being so obsessed with body weight and start paying attention to body composition. How much body fat do you have compared to muscle? Simply seeing how much you weigh isn't very helpful. www.flickr.com/photos/66885435@N08/6853461 474/in/photostream My blood tests I have had taken say I am healthier even if at a higher weight because of high muscle mass, I also don't have to do maintenance on 1200 calories even if I am 47 I can eat up to 2500 calories on a really busy day.. We need muscle mass to encourage resting metabolism.. www.flickr.com/photos/66885435@N08/6269457 020/in/photostream I don't have to struggle striving for a "BMI" weight anymore.. The body will find happy- we just have to keep eating a "extremely lean" "for" lifestyle change principle and work hard at improving muscle mass..

A doctor once said 100 plus 5 pounds for every inch over 5 feet. Plus or minus 5 pounds. That would put us at a range of 120-130, but this I was told when I was in college. I think up to 135 would be fine, and also take your bone structure/muscle density into consideration. It's better to focus on amount of body fat and general fitness level.

I'm 5'6" and I reached 124 last summer. I've crept back up to 131. I'm happy. I am active. I eat well and now I'm thinking 125-130 is a good maintenance range.
