Today I am grateful for life and the fact that after a good night rest I awoke with no pain. I am grateful I was able to exercise and go to work. There is so much to be thankful for. Have a blessed day.

On this last day of November, a few of my gratitudes:

1. Work projects flowing smoothly and completed today;
2. Celebrated that smoothness and completion with a 30-minute walk;
3. Enjoying assigned reading for Executive Leadership class - "First, Break All the Rules" - quite the interesting read;
4. Feeling like I'm almost back on track after being thrown off course by life (and death); and
5. Leaving work EARLIER THAN ON TIME today - a big contrast to last week.

Have a great evening everybody!

Today I am especially grateful for:

-- Pema Chodron, such a great teacher (Love your Pema Chodron quotation, Valeriemaha.)

-- the warm welcome given me to this message board, thank you

-- the cool morning air, coming through the window opened to let the cats have their outdoor run

-- the cats playful joy, dashing in and out, their cool fur, rain-dampened and fresh

-- hot running water! At the turn of a tap, an everyday luxury never to be taken for granted

Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing.

It's so cool, huh, Mahalakshmi?

I mean, no matter where you are, no matter what has ever happened, no matter how things may appear, every single moment of every single day, you're being drawn closer than you've ever been before, to getting everything you've ever wanted.

Really out did myself with time and space.

Chick-a-boom, chick-a-boom...

P.S. Mahalakshmi... don't you just love it?

Learning how to be kind to ourselves, learning how to respect ourselves, is important. The reason it's important is that fundamentally, when we look into our own hearts and begin to discover what is confused and what is brilliant, what is bitter and what is sweet, it isn't just ourselves that we're discovering. We're discovering the universe.

While watching the spotlight channel 7 interveiw with Gleaners and Forgotten Harvest I realize that I am not only thankful that I am not in the position of having to "hunt" for my own food, and have an abundance at my fingertips, that I am thankful that I have the ability to use my own resources to help and volunteer to these organizations to rescue food from landfills and reroute them to the folks (especially the children) that often go without or scramble for little.

I'm grateful this morning for:

- morning hugs with L.
- the good fortune that has shone on me this whole life, even if, particularly when, I wasn't even noticing it.
- new Norah Jones album on Rhapsody.
- looking forward to a run this afternoon.
- being able to help L with a computer problem this morning.

Today I am especially grateful for:

~ A lovely day of reminiscing -- and even work -- with my dear friend, Amy from Costa Rica!
~ The nice man who stopped a lane of busy traffic in his black XTerra SUV to let me in the lane after I got stuck behind a garbage truck. A selfless and kind act!
~ Cooler days to help the plants rest for the Winter.
~ Wonderful conversation with my sister from afar -- who continues to inspire me with her radical lifestyle changes and the combined family weight loss of over 120 pounds!
~ Beautiful cloud wisps with breathtaking rays of sun peeking out!
~ Work that is fulfilling!
~ Blessings that abound in my life!
~ SparkFriends to keep me movtivated!
~ Music to soothe my soul...

Peace and blessings to all!

Chef Meg's Cheesy Grilled Banana Peppers
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

Cheese. Bacon. Tomatoes. Yum!
Chef Meg finds a slightly more sophisticated version of the hot pepper poppers found on appetizer menus everywhere. Her version uses mild banana peppers, creamy Gouda cheese, a bit of bacon for a smoky richness, and tomatoes to offer a bit of freshness. She grills them to add another layer of flavor to the dish.

Serve these as an appetizer or unexpected side dish at your next barbecue!

Chef Meg uses panko, or Japanese breadcrumbs in this recipe. You can substitute whatever breadcrumbs you have on hand. Full Recipe
