Well I just watched our weather there's a 100 percent chance of snow. What do you think? Do you think we will get it? Our state is in a state of emergency so we really don't need any more snow. It's amazing how the people in the big cities can't handle all the snow like us country people. I'm so glad I live in the country.
Tay did you like the cliff hanger on BL tonight. I'm so glad to see a red team member go home.
Eileen, I've gotten into a slump with WW's and I knew I would. I need to go to the store like Judy did and get some good healthy foods. I'm getting bored with what I do have to eat. I don't anticipate a loss tomorrow. If I do I'll be totally amazed.
Everyone stay focused tomorrow. I plan to go out and exercise sometime tomorrow before weigh in if I can get out of the driveway. I'm off so it will be when I want it to be.

Tay - we found two places with white Merlot. Dry, but a tiny bit of sweetness and the palest of colors. Really good. I sure hope you get over that cough soon. It must drive you batty. Don't you hate it when you can't stop it and then you see stars and your head hurts? Have you tried chicken soup? Or how about a bedtime hot tea toddy with bourbon, honey, and lemon. If I cough when I have one of those, I never know it!
Carol - did you use chicken breasts in your recipe instead of a whole chicken??? Bummer about your weather. What good is it to be by the beach and have crummy weather? Good for you for getting the pedometer. When my steps are on the low side, I take the long way around the office to get where I need to go. I want to see Nancy in pink mittens!
Nancy2 - you are always upbeat! Good job with that stair stepper. It really was fun to meet Norma. I never thought I would chat online let alone find someone nice enough to want to meet in person!
Paula - I've had a Toshiba laptop for about a year and a half and I love it. Too bad about your cold weather too. What IS going on? This is global warming?
Zoom - I'm sure the polyp will be nothing. That's the whole point of colonoscopies - to find things before they turn into something nasty. It would have been a blast at the wineries. Lloyd only likes really sweet one so I couldn't share my tasting with him. That's why I only made it to 4 of the dozen or so wineries that are there. You WILL lose that pound and once you do, you will start a roll, I'm sure of it.
Paula2 - we'll hope for the best option for your hand. Did you injure it in the past or is it something congenital? Is it your dominant hand? I can't imaging not being able to bend my wrist or being in a cast 2 to 3 months. I wore a sling for 6 weeks after shoulder surgery and thought I was going crazy. It was so hot and always itched.
Ronda - welcome. You can receive lots of support from this group. Never heard of Nia - I'll have to look it up.
Kathie - too bad about the work situation. Sounds like you could end up with double work in single time. It would be great for you to meet Molly. Lloyd and I have a plan when I retire to travel the country to all of the baseball parks. I may have to revise that to meet all of the wonderful women in this group! I'm sure you can meet your 10 pound weight loss goal. You have been doing so well since getting back with WW.
Judy - it's like a new you - you sound so great. Dinner sounds good. I like the idea that you posted some affirmations for yourself. What a great idea!
Molly - I wish you some good weather soon! Don't burn yourself out at work. Hope Belk doesn't call you to come help out. How's Little Man?
Better post this before I lose it. Another workday tomorrow. Today was actually really nice. I love my job once I get there. It's actually fun taking care of women all day, even if they sometimes whine! Have a good night and I hope to be back tomorrow.

Hello to everyone. Just trying to get some rest. It's been a busy week so far. I'm dreading tomorrow if we get the 30-40 mph winds tonight and tomorrow. That could cause lots of outages again. I was totally shock that Ali took her job over Jake. I don't know what he's going to do. I just can't see him with "V" but if that's his choice, he's going to have some tough in-laws. Will be interesting to see how his parents feel about her. It's going to be interesting. BL comes on shortly. I wonder who's going tonight? Does Survivor start this week? Ladies I'm going to lay down and relax. I was up at 5 this morning and at work at 6:30. I have to be in early tomorrow too, so I'll try and catch up tomorrow. Have a good evening.

A short post for now. I had a busy day with a ton of ironing to do. I have a roast in the crock pot and just put some veggies in the oven. I decided since it was such a nice sunny day to go for a walk, got 40 minutes in, yeah. Tonight Brandi and I have our course so we won't get home until after 9:00, I want to watch Biggest Looser but DH likes to watch NCIS, so I guess will see who wins. Off to check on the veggies. Judy

Hi ladies,
What’s up???
Nancy2 what kind of chicken are you going to cook? I was going to make the cheesy chicken stuff till I saw the points and said Nah! Nice idea but guess I won’t be making them.
Tay Inventory was postponed due to the weather conditions. We were happy but sad. We can’t do anything as far as work till it’s done as half the store is in the back room now pre counted. I would have rather done it and got it over with but my boss cancelled because of the weather. What will we do next week if we get more? Oh well it was his call. If Vienna wins I will be disappointed but if that is whom he chooses what can we do. I would have like to seen ALI win be the one and I do bet she comes back.
Eileen the life of returning to work. I so much hate that part. I bet you did enjoy your time off and away and meeting Norma. I’m hoping to meet Molly soon. My husband finally got his vacation and I ask him if we could make a side trip and he said yes. So I’ll have to get with Molly when the time gets closer.
Nancy2 I got annoyed with doing sparks and so I ended up frustrated and didn’t do anything. I think it’s all in what you want to do. As for the colonoscopy I have to have mine every two years so I think it depends on what they find. Either way it’s not much fun in my book.
Paula if all you need is to reload your computer don’t get rid of it. You can do that yourself anytime and it won’t cost you 200.00. My husband reloads ours and the kids all the time. That is why they give you recovery disks or nowadays some don’t even come with that. Go to your help menu when you’re not doing anything special or after you get your other one. I’ve done mine but it’s been awhile. One time when I was first learning the computer I deleted everything and had to reload it all myself. So trust me don’t get rid of your computer it’s something you can teach yourself to do. We really don’t have that much snow here but more is on the way. My boss’s boss hasn’t had electricity since last Friday in there store so we feel fortunate at least we can go to work we don’t have any customers but can at least go in and look at the place.
Nancy I don’t think I lost anything this week either but I can say my pants are falling off of me so I’m taking inches over pounds right now. We are both on track for a pound next week though. Do you and Carol here me? I want to lose 10 pounds before I head out of vacation in about 10 weeks. I have something to strive for now.
Ronda welcome to the group. You’ll learn something about us all if you come back each day and read. We are all here for the same reason to lose weight.
Carol wow I guess you are about as sick of rain as the rest of us are of snow. I want to make some chicken soup when I get some time. I don’t know when that will be maybe this weekend if I’m lucky. I’m sick of this weather as everyone stays home and it’s very boring at work. A lot of people to the south of us still don’t have any water or electricity so of course no one is leaving there homes. Kids aren’t in school either so everyone stays home.
I’ll bbl and see what is up with everyone.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I live in Sonora, California, about an hour and a half from Yosemite, 2 hours to Sacramento. Sonora is a small town and I've live here for over 30 years. My husband is 79 and still a full time contractor building homes. At least for the next month of so. He's biding on a new house but doesn't think he will get it and then for the first time in 25 years he will be out of work. Our area will take a long time to recover financially, as we have lost several big employers. I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist and my practice is slow. I work with children, families, and individuals. This hour's client, a young boy is sick and his mother just cancelled. I'm worried about money but then who isn't these days? I'm actually looking forward to 65 so that I can qualify for medicare, as now I pay a hugh medical insurance premimum and have too many pre-existing conditions to get anything cheaper. Enough of those worry thoughts! The joy of my life is my 4 year old granddaughter. My daughter and her family live about 2 hours away. My daugher is expecting a son in 2 weeks. This Friday I'm going to a workshop in play therapy near where she lives and then stay the weekend.
My greatest challange in health is exercise! Trying to establish a regular routine-I whine a lot about exercising but can't find whinning listed anywhere as exercise and that's the one thing I'm good at! I've recently started a Nia class one day a week-that's sort of a dance, yoga, movement class,in which you don't have to do anything that is hard on your body-"there's no wrong way to do Nia" is the motto-I'm having to turn off a lot of negative thoughts about myself-you know, too fat, too slow, I'm clumsy, etc. Getting those negative thoughts to let go is harder than doing the actual movements of the class. Alright, I need to get back to my paper work. Ronda

I just got home from Wally World and it was a zoo. I hate those electric carts that people drive around the store. They stop in the middle of the aisle and no one can get around. But I bought my water and a pedometer. I'm gonna hook it on in the morning and see how many steps I do in a day. So far today I have eaten well and am drinking my water.
Nancy - I'm sure we can find somewhere to go. As long as it's not raining we might be able to get a walk in. Wear your winter parka and I have some nice pink mitts you can wear - LOL.
Tay - I'm sorry, but I'm just not into this bachelor. He looks so good but, I don't know what it is - just doesn't turn my crank.
Nancy2 - I have a mini stepper but it's at home (my northern home). I bought it here a couple of years ago and used it regularly. But after I got sick, I put it away since it was only collecting dust since I didn't have the energy to even do 1 step. But I'll dust it off when I get home in April.
Paula - your new computer will be so fast. Mine was really fast when I got it 5 years ago and now, it's slower than I am. I'm thinking a new one may be in the future for me too.
Hi Ronda - welcome aboard. You'll love us, we're a bunch of old broads - LOL and I think I'm one of the oldest. We laugh, we cry, we pray, we &^#$% (sometimes). Just beware of our leader who doesn;t put up with too much before she drags out her mighty whip. We call her the Queen Mum.
Hey to everyone I missed - I'll check in again later

Well, it was a busy morning so here it is already 1pm and finally I can sit down and send a post to all of you lovely ladies. After this I am going to eat something!! I saw my Dr. today and just as I thought I have some more surgery to do. He wants to begin by using a camera to "explore" my hand and see what is going on. There are only several options at this point and only one is preferable. If possible, he will replace a ligament and hope it stays put for a number of years. I would be in a cast for 2-3 months. Yes, I said months!! ugh. My other option isn't so good. If the damage is beyond repair, he would clean the bones up, cut the nerve (to help with pain) and leave it at that. The damage will progress and eventually I'll end up with a complete wrist fusion. Not my idea of fun. If that happens I will have no range of motion in my hand. It will be like wearing one of the splints with the metal in it- all the time. I am praying for the first option!! They had a surgery date available for April 21 but I turned it down. I am NOT going to be in a cast for my son's wedding! I will schedule it for after June 5. If there is a cancellation for this month or the first week of March I might take it. I am trying to stay positive in all of this. :-)
Nancy- so thankful Ted's colonoscopy went well. Glad they removed the polyp that was there. I'll be praying for the biopsy to be negative. Glad you have such a positive attitude about it.
Paula- yeah for a new computer. Sorry the mac was out of your budget. I have a older iBook and I LOVE it. Any new computer is good though. It'll be great to have a fast computer again.
Nancy- good for you drinking your water and moving your body! Keep that up and you WILL see weight loss. Don't you wish the weight came off and easy and deliciously as it goes on?
Ronda- welcome to this chatty group. If you are looking for an active board- you found it. I've only been on here for a couple of weeks myself and it is a great group. These women care about each other! Let us know where you live, hopefully it is somewhere without snow right now. Keep away from the fatty foods and you'll definitely keep your gallbladder happy. Congrats on the new grandbaby coming soon. Check out the recipe section for some crock pot ideas.
Tay - The Bachelor last night - oh my gosh, what is Jake's problelm? If he picks Vienna he deserves what he gets. I really wanted Ali to be the one! I told my daughter maybe she'd be like Ed and come back. Then they show her calling Jake- what is gonna happen? I too have heard "rumors" that he picks Vienna. Corrie, the girl who left last week said in an interview she wants Jake to pick Ali but thinks he'll pick V. why oh why? Even her family is needy.
Carol- glad the rain stopped for you. It poured while I was out shopping. My feet were freezing. I guess that's what I get for wearing sandals. :-) Sorry your chicken turned out a little dry. I hate when that happens. Cutting it up and using it in soup is a great idea. I love homemade chicken soup, especially on cold rainy days.
Judy- you are living up to your name (Judyspositive) by posting affirmations for you to see on a daily basis. What a great idea. So sorry about the arthritis in your knees. It is bummer. I have days that I get upset and depressed about the pain, but I try to be thankful that it's only a hand ( or a knee) and that life is still good. I have to give my grumpy attitude over to the Lord on a daily basis and ask for His peace.
Ok, time to go get some food in me. Have a great evening everyone and hello to those I missed. It's LOST night, so if you watch, have fun. I'll be having my chocolate vita top while the rest of the group has brownies. I am getting the better treat!!

NANCY....glad Ted's procedure is over and done with for another 10 years! Removing that polyp was great and probably nothing to worry about at all. I hate for you and Carol not having sunny, warm weather next weekend! It's a shame! You'll just have to walk in a mall or something. Thanks for the intro to Ronda. It'll save me from doing it!
PAULA...how exciting to be getting a new computer. You're lucky to have a neighbor who knows the ropes and is able to steer you in the right direction. Bummer about your cold weather! Welcome to the club! It's everywhere! I am definitely feeling better but my cough appears out of the blue in the form of a coughing FIT! OMG, it's terrible! At least it's the tail end of having a cold. Can't wait for BL and AI tonight; especially AI because Ellen is on for the first time. It should be interesting to see how she interacts with Simon. He'll probably be making faces at her all night because rumor has it he doesn't like her! Does he like ANYONE besides himself?
NANCY2....you're so focused and I'm so happy to hear you're doing everything right including the stair stepper! The pounds will drop for sure by the time your son gets married! You're counting points as well as calories? LOL You're too funny!
RONDA....you might read Nnzoom's note to you. She explained what I would have. Welcome to our group! It sounds like you've got a few obstacles to fight through but, I'm like Jillian on Biggest Loser and know you can lose weight despite those obstacles. Stick with us, reduce your portion sizes, eat smart, drink water, and by all means exercise somehow everyday even if it's 5 or 10 minutes. Posting here everyday will keep you motivated and accountable. If we don't see the weight tracker moving, we'll ask you why it's not moving! Most of all we're a bunch of great women who inspire each other, enjoy chatting about losing weight as well as personal issues. So...tell us about yourself!

Good afternoon Sparkettes! Ted's colonoscopy went well... they did find (and remove) a polyp... they sent it off for a biopsy, but I think it will come back okay.
Kiki.... that's what this message board is all about... cheering each other on! It looks like we are gonna have to find something INDOORS to do when I get there! On Friday the high is supposed to be 42 degrees! The HIGH!!! And rainy! This is supposed to be FLORIDA!!! Yikes!
Nancy2... I'm glad you gave the shelter funds to take care of the kitten for a while. I'm not a "cat fancier", but I would never mistreat one. I hope he finds a loving home.
Norma... glad to hear that you and Eileen got to meet and had a nice time. Sorry that you didn't feel better! You'll get through this! Maybe next time you meet, you'll be back to your old self!
Tay.... Yes, New Orleans does have some very good coffee! It's the only coffee I've even had that I could actually drink black!
Paula.... this HAS been the coldest winter in recent years... that I remember anyway. Some years it has gotten colder perhaps... but it hasn't STAYED so cold so long! And this week we are supposed to have another "cold snap"!
Kathie.... I am SO close to losing that pound! The scales WANTED to say 147 this morning... but didn't quite do it! I'm not giving up!
Judy... I'm glad SOMEBODY agrees with me about the Who's performance at the SuperBowl! The light show was good, but the music was AWFUL! They sounded like OLD MEN up there doing Karaoke! LOL
Eileen... Ted said that the prep for the colonoscopy wasn't nearly as bad THIS go-round as it was 10 years ago. That is encouraging (since I have to have one later this year!!!) Oh heck yes, I would have liked the wineries! So far this month I have stuck with my No Drinking During the Week plan (Remember, I didn't drink at all in January.... well...until the 29th when I went out with my friend!)
RONDALOIS... Welcome! This message board has been in existence for two years now. Tay (Sandy) started it, and a few of us have been "together" ever since. The goal is to post HERE every day if at all possible. That keeps us focuses, motivated, and accountable. (I know that there have been MANY times I just didn't feel like exercising, but know that the ladies here are counting on me to do it! Same with food.... I'm "better" at my choices because of the gals here!) Tay likes for everybody to have a photo of themselves (you already have that!) on their profile picture (it's so much easier talking to a face than a picture of flowers or a family pet!) Also, tell us about you... the state you live in, marital status, children, work, etc. We ARE a nosey group! LOL We have gotten to be real friends here, and some of us have even met in real life. (Eileen and Norma just met, Sandy and Molly have met... and I'm going to visit Carol this week... we met last year too.)
Time to do a little exercise. I didn't do any during my wait for Ted. I went to the grocery store, and when I got back he was due to be released shortly. AND it was very crowded... not a vacant spot conducive to exercise!
Hi everyone! We finally have sunshine today but it's freezing cold with a wind chill in the teens. Oh well. I had a computer tech look at my computer yesterday because it's been doing some weird things and he told me there was really no way to fix it except to re-load windows and all of my programs which would cost about $200, so I decided it's time for a new computer. He told me what to order--I trust him, he's a neighbor. I really wanted a Mac but the one I want is a littl too pricey for me, so I ordered a Toshiba that my neighbor recommended. I'll be glad when it gets here and I can stop having all kinds of weird stuff appear out of nowhere and random re-starts and freezes. Welcome Ronda--You don't have to worry about our not being active. We're the most active bunch on the net I think! We always have something to say and we really have a close knit and caring group. Good luck to you with your weight loss pursuits. Kathie--Let us know if we need to come dig you out of the snow. Tay--Sounds like you're feeling a bit better. Hope the cough is subsiding.
Hugs to everyone I missed! BL and AI tonight so we'll have lots to talk about tomorrow!
Stay OP Paula

Hello all, I'm needing to ge focused once again on good choices-joined Sparks a while ago and didn't do much with it but now I'm back-with another 10 pound weight gain. I want an active board and thought this looked like a good place. Am having some gallbladder issues, see a surgeon on the 16th but will put it off until my daughter has her son-due date the 23rd but may be earlier. I plan to help care for my 4 year old grand daughter when her brother is born. I'm also diabetic 2 but so far not needing medication. Now I'm trying to avoid fats so that my gallbladder doesn't flair up and avoid carbs for the diabetis. Sometimes I wonder what I can eat! Not much of a cook but have been using my crock pot more. CAROL....sorry to hear your chicken was a little dry but I'm sure it was still delicious. I agree with you about Tenley's voice. It sounds like a Chipmunk! I was browsing the net and came across a VERY seductive Maxim photo shoot with Gia almost naked. (realitysteve.com's column) She's NOT the innocent little thing she's pretending to be and, since the shoot with the fake boobs, she's had a nose job, and botox in her lips. Nice girl but just as fake as Vienna. I would love for Ali to come back (like Ed did) and be the one Jake chooses BUT, I also read a "spoiler alert" that he picked Vienna! If he did, he's not the class act I thought he was. Two weeks will seem like an eternity waiting for the finale.
If you don't have a sense of humor you probably don't have any sense at all!

Morning All!!! Raining when I got up but not anymore - just cloudy. I need to go for groceries again (fruit, cereal...) then planning my walk - hope it doesn't rain again.
I saw the bachelor last night. Is Ali pulling the same trick as on the bachelorette - take off and then come back???? This bachelor is cute but he's more drama than the girls. Here's my thoughts on these girls. Tenley - cute, but can't stand the Michey Mouse voice and I don't think shes's over the ex; Vienna - straaaange family - think I'd steer awat from them; Gia - I understand her family, she's Italian, like me and I think they were the most down-to-earth, but would she feel settled away from the big city? I think Ali is coming back and he'll pick her.
Eileen - glad you had a great time. So nice that you got to meet Norma.
Kathie, Tay, Molly - enough of the snow. What is happening with the weather???? I talked to my sister at home and there is no snow on the streets or sidewalks, no need for winter boots and the sun has been shining. Maybe we should have stayed home this year. It's gonna be cold again on the gulf coast with freezing rain in Southern Alabama and that's pretty close to me.
The chicken and rice dish I made for supper last night was good, but the chicken was a little dry. Guess there was a reason that a whole cut-up chicken was used. The chicken left over is going to be cubed and I'll add it to my chicken broth.
Have a great day - BBL.

EILEEN....It's definitely a bummer going back to work after a fun weekend. I never knew there was a white merlot! Wow! Nancy and I would definitely enjoy visits to wineries across the country and we could probably talk Laura into joining us!! haha She's been known to "tip a few" from time to time! Norma raved about meeting you and Lloyd and said you are "NICE, NICE people!!" So cute...but we knew that already! Have a great day and don't work too hard!

Good morning everyone - well, back home and back to work. If you want to play, you must pay - ha ha.
Zoom - good luck to Ted with his colonoscopy today. It's a good thing it's only once every ten years. The procedure is not too bad but the preparation - ugh! You (and Tay) would have loved the wineries we went to. There were more than a dozen but we only went to four. We'll save others for another trip. One winery had just one wine - a white merlot made from their own grapes on their 5 acre vineyard. Very interesting and very good. I bet you are looking forward to your visit with Carol. It is so good to get to know each other personally.
Tay - congratulations to your Saints. Didn't get to watch the game - we didn't have television hookup but we watched DVDs during the rainstorm. From as cold as it was that day, I can't imagine how you all get along during the winter. I guess I am just spoiled.
Judy - you sound so much more upbeat. That's wonderful. I bet you had a great time stocking up on your healthy foods. It really makes a difference in your motivation.
Carol - I hope your weather turns nice for you and you can walk on the beach as much as your heart desires.
Norma - hope you are starting to feel better.
Have to get to work now. Hello to everyone I haven't addressed. Congratulations to those who have lost weight. I'll try to check back later at work. I have read all of the posts but will pick up answering from today and anything else I remember.

A quick post before I leave for work. Dean has a dentist appt. (check-up & cleaning) this morning so, I'll pick up Miss Sophie and bring her to work with me.
Molly, Kathie, Carol, Judy, Paula2, and anyone else who watches Bachelor: WHAT did you think of Ali giving up Jake for her job and THEN in the previews she calls him while he's in the Islands with the 3 other girls? WOW! If Ali was forced to choose between Jake or her job, the company she works for stinks! "I" would have quit the job and taken my chances on finding another job if Jake didn't choose me. Jobs are tough to find but, so is love! The bummer is having to wait TWO WEEKS for the finale! I thought Tenley's family was a bunch of emotional wrecks. Vienna's Dad would be a hard nut for ANY son-in-law to crack. Gia's family were like strange and seemed like the mafia! Ali's family seemed normal but, where was her Dad? Is he not alive?
Update: I'm at work and will answer the posts from last night.
CAROL.....glad your pity party is over with. We all feel like "woe is me" from time to time so, it's normal. As long as I'm here for pep talks, we're good to go! Glad you went out for a 30 minute walk yesterday. Didn't you feel better when you got home? They're so invigorating! Hope your chicken dinner was as yummy as it smelled! Was it?
KATHIE....I feel so bad for everyone north of us having to deal with more snow and bad weather. This is truly the winter that won't end and I'm sick of it! I want to see Daffodils and Tulips! Glad you're feeling better after getting a little more sleep the night before. Maybe they'll cancel inventory if it's snowing outside! haha.. I doubt it but, you can dream anyway!
JUDY.....business was bad in Nov., & Dec. but, January surpassed our expectations! We're hoping the trend will continue for the rest of the year. Our lot is the only one within a 15 mile radius! One guy got too big for his britches and went out of business within a year. The other one moved his lot to another town 20 miles away. We're liking the odds!! haha Have a great day and I hope you get out for a walk today. Walking is GOOD!!
Have a great day ladies. I'll be back later.

hello all It's been a good day, got the laundry and the cleaning done, made some affirmations up and stuck them on the door where I will see them. I made a great spinach salad for lunch with turkey and asiago cheese. It's pretty cold out there today, so I didn't head out for a walk, I will tomorrow because I have a few library books to take back. Nancy2- loved the weight comparison chart, sure makes you think about the extra weight your carrying. Lucky you to win the money, makes the game more interesting. I sure hope someone adopts the little guy. Our cat is a female and Brandi's cat is a male. Maggie rules the roost around here, she figures she is the boss of everyone including the kids. She was declawed when we got her and it has made her a bit on the nasty side, she has to defend herself somehow. We know that if we didn't give her a home that no one else would. She is my baby though, but she has bitten me a few times. Nancy- My hubby watched the game yesterday and said it was great. I had watched the half-time part, that's my favorite. I think the light show was good, but The Who can't sing like they used to. Eileen- So nice to hear that you had a nice visit with Norma. It's to bad that the weather hasn't been that great, but at least you have a Tv to watch in the trailer. Tay- If your out looking at cars that's a good thing because that means people must be buying again. I don't go to movies that often and when I do go I only like going to the cheap theatre. Why spend $12 when you can see it for $3. I had to laugh there was only Brandi, myself and 3 other ladies in the theatre. Molly- It so great that they are getting the power back on fast, when it's cold and snowy who wants to be without power. I sure hope all this bad weather ends soon. Paula2- I sure hope everything goes okay for you with the doctor. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and some days are better than others. When I lay in bed at night that's when they seem to pop. Carol-Just like Sandy tells me, you can only be sorry for yourself for a few minutes and then get on with it. She is good for getting us back on track. It was nice that everyone was concerned for you, and just like the rest of us, we don't want to see you green or any other color again. Norma-I'm glad that you had a nice visit and that you were able to enjoy yourself for a bit. I sure hope your feeling better soon. We are Leos remember and we are strong people. Paula1- It's been quite cool here today, still lots of fog and frost, the only thing nice about it is that the trees look so pretty. The kids just came down and wanted to know if I still had my heart shaped cake pan, well yes and no, I have one but I haven't a clue where it is. It must be in one of the boxes in the furnace room. I guess I'll have to try and find it tomorrow. DH has to stop at the lab for another blood test, they called today and his INR was way to high, so they want another reading. Hopefully it's just something he ate that made it go up. Talk to you soon Judy

Hi ladies,
I guess I should write as I read as I’m sure you were all chatty today.
Nancy NO EXCUSES you will lose a pound next week Do you hear me? I am telling myself the same thing. Enjoy your time with Carol and I’m sure you two can find a little bit of spark time to let us know how it’s going. Hopefully all goes well with Ted today and tomorrow. I hate those things.
Nancy2 no I do not track my points on Spark. I write down everything I eat and only do it once. I don’t even track it on the WW site. I can look at my paper and know what I ate. I don’t worry about calorie content as I don’t count calories. The points system works well for me. I wasn’t going to join but so glad that I did. I enjoy the meetings and meeting different people and we are all going thru the same thing.
Tay yes I do feel better today I think I just needed some extra sleep. I went to bed 2 hours earlier than normal lat night. We have another storm coming tomorrow. It looks like we are to get more snow tomorrow. It seems it’s northern this time. I’m hoping they just cancel inventory. I am so not in the mood to do it especially if I’m looking outside and it’s snowing. Thanks for the reminder of Bachelor tonight. I hope Molly gets home to watch it.
Molly I don’t know if you’re going to get hit with the next storm. I wasn’t listening that close but if so hang tight. I know Maryland is supposed to get more of it so I’m thinking of you.
Paula2 we are thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way. Take care of yourself for heavens sake.
Carol hang in there your weight will eventually come off. You are probably building up some muscle considering you didn’t do anything for about a year. It will happen keep drinking your water and exercising. Do you want Nancy to kick your butt??
Norma I am so glad you had a nice visit with Eileen and hopefully you will get to spend some more time with her. Hang in there we are thinking of you.
Paula I noticed on the weather map this morning that your weather hasn’t been the best either. I guess we are all suffering and waiting for spring.
Joyce thanks for figuring out the calories. I think I might try and make that on Wednesday. I need to eat something besides salads.
Kathie

Okay, I'm over my pity party. I went for a walk around the block - not the beach - cloudy and too windy - but I did walk for 30 minutes.
I have a lovely dinner in the oven. Found a chicken and rice recipe (all in one dish), but changed it a bit, instead of a chicken cut up, I used boneless, skinless chicken breast and I substituted the reg. milk for fat free milk. It smells delish. Randy says he can smell it upstairs in the porch.
Tay - sometimes I need a slap to the side of my head - thanks for giving it to me every once in a while.
Norma - I knew Eileen would be just as nice as can be. She comes across in her posts as very caring. Sure hope your feeling better soon. Prayers going your way.

NANCY2....there were many funny mental pictures of the items equaling certain lbs! I've copied it to post it from time to time just as a reminder to everyone.
PAULA.....I hate that you have a little rain and gloomy skies to deal with but, you're right, it's nothing compared to no electricity or being buried in 30 inches of snow! My complaints about the cold weather are ridiculous as well. Baltimore was one of the nicest cities I ever visited. We had friends who lived across from Camden Yard (the new baseball stadium) in a "row house." They bought it for $1.00 but spent $45,000 renovating it. I swear it wasn't wider than 12' but it was very deep (front to back) and 3 flights of stairs that were deadly.
Okay, I'm heading home. It's been a busy day and I'm pooped. Don't forget BACHELOR tonight! Cyber hugs to everyone. I might try to get on-line later but, I'm too tired so, I probably won't.

Hi everyone! Where does the time go!
Eileen--It sounds like you had a wonderful visit with Eileen. How fun!
Kathie--Don't be getting sick now!
Nancy--Russell did the colonscopy thing a couple of weeks ago. He was kind of a baby about the whole day without food thing, but he survived and all went well. Thank goodness we only have to do that once every 10 years!
We're still having cold rainy weather in north Texas. But again--I know it could be a lot worse! I understand the northeast is supposed to get hit again with another snowstorm this week. I lived in Baltimore for about 6 years in the late 80's and early 90's. I think the most we got during that time was a foot one Thanksgiving. I can't imagine 30 inches. I hope everyone is safe and warm.
Hugs to all until tomorrow! Paula 1

NORMA....bless your heart for making it through the meeting with Eileen and Lloyd. I'm so glad they cheered you up before the downside of your chemo kicked in. We KNEW you'd hit it off well together! Eileen is definitely in the right profession with her caregiving persona. You're such a trooper. I think half the country was hoping the Saints would win. New Orleans was a fun vacation spot for me in the mid 80s and I loved every minute I spent there. Cafe' DuMond's chicory coffee and Benyays (sp?) were SO delicious. Didn't you love them? Take care of yourself. We're all saying prayers for you.
CAROL.....it's easy to feel sorry for ourselves from time to time but, a slap upside the haid usually gets our mind straight!! You're doing your best to shed the pounds so, don't give up.
NANCY....It would HAVE TO BE Mrs. Elephant who gave out the information! Would anyone else care to know? haha Soooo funny!
NANCY2....that was really nice of you to take Mr. Kitty to the shelter and give them money to take care of him til someone adopted him. Let's hope he finds a loving, forever home with someone very soon. I'm thinking about the items BEFORE the weight is lost. That's why it's so funny to picture my DIL walking around hunched over with a 55 lb 5000 BTU Air Conditioner strapped to her back! When ya think about it, they're all eye openers!!

Hello, Everyone! Wanted to let everyone know that we had a wonderful meeting with Eileen and Lloyd Saturday morning. They are NICE, NICE people, and I'm so happy we got to meet. Eileen is a very caring person and her patients are lucky to have her. Lloyd, being a former elementary music teacher, has our complete respect. It takes a special person to do that! Hopefully, they will come back to this area so we can show them some of the sights of the county. The visit cheered me as I knew I was getting close to the unpleasant reactions to the chemo. Fortunately, I was good through breakfast. Then it really hit Saturday afternoon and has continued through today. At least, I didn't "pig out" on some of the Super Bowl treats Roger made. We were hoping for a Saints win since we use to live in that area and had attended some of their games. It will be a wild time in New Orleans and on the Gulf Coast for the next week with the Saint's win and Mardi Gras coming.
It was special to meet Eileen and Lloyd. I hope more of us will have the opportunity to meet.
Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be better and can reply to more.
Norma

Tay: Yes we took him to a shelter and gave them money to keep him and find him a home..Pete is soooo upset he loves cats and so do I. And we told them if they don't find him a home to call us back. He is just to cute and friendly someone will adopt him! You are so right about wonder who weighed all that stuff LOL...And Nancy thought about it as having the weight on I thought about it as losing the weight. One pound gone is the size of a Guinea Pig LOL..I guess one pound on is the size of a guinea pig LOL either way its funny!!!
With all the excitement here this morning I haven't drank any water or done any exercise...Ok I must get off my butt and get busy...

Yep. Not often am I rendered speechless... but I'm still reeling from the 60 pound elephant penis! Tay.. I wonder if MRS. Elephant was the one to give out that particular bit of information! LOL
Kiki... I guess I won't kick your butt TOO much as long as you are TRYING!!! And, I guess I'll be so happy to not see you YELLOW that a few extra pounds won't even matter! Yes... DO be thankful that you are well on the road to recovery (you ARE still recovering, you know!)... the weight WILL come off... But it won't happen over night. Don't rush it!
Nancy - you may be right - I guess I should take my measurements.
Tay - thank you for your positive affirmations. I am lucky - I just want to be my old self again. But I'm not giving up, I heading out the door as soon as I have some lunch.

MOLLY....you have to love the "thank you" phone calls! I hope they outnumber the complaint calls! Hang in there. Aren't you excited about Jake tonight? Can't WAIT to see why he doesn't want a rose ceremony!
PAULA2.....ouch! HOW did you bump your head so badly? Hope you heal on your own before seeing a Chiropractor. I'm so sorry to hear about your bad hands! Severe osteoarthritis sounds like it might be very painful! We'll definitely think positive thoughts and say a prayer for you tomorrow. Hope the MRI shows a simple fix to a big problem.
NANCY....only YOU would notice that one! LOL Makes me wonder who had the happy job of weighing one to find out it weighed 60 lbs!!
CAROL....you definitely have a lot to be thankful for this year! #1..you're in Florida. #2...Randy is with you. #3....you can walk, talk, breathe, and enjoy life. #4....you're not green anymore. #5...the weight WILL come off eventually. Good for you and Randy getting out for some fun at the Super Bowl party...even though you left at halftime! Ya missed the best half!! LOL
NANCY2.....oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear about the little kitten having to go. Please tell me you'll take him to a shelter. Maybe someone will adopt him who doesn't have any cats.
Just trying to keep up with the posts!! BBL

Carol: Maybe you are losing inches and not pounds. That's what I'm finding out I bought some pants that were to small and now I can get them on and zipped but still a little to tight but before I couldn't even get them up. So keep thinking positive...
Well we will be giving up the male cat..He caused a mess in the house with the girls. Now they won't even go near each other without fighting...That wasnt a good idea. Oh well live and learn...

Hey girlies, I'm back. Had an "feeling sorry for myself" weekend. Seeing no change in my weight last Friday - well, you know. But here I am again - a new week and Nancy is coming and she'll kick by a$$ if I don't smarten up. LOL
Last night we went to a Super Bowl party across the road - we stayed until half time and then I'd had enough football. All the people there were coming up to me and asking me I was and that they were so worried about me going home sick last year - you look so good - so happy your back....guess it hit home that I should be happy to be well and that the weight will come off, sooner or later. I'm just gonna try to eat healthy and get my walking in and hope for the best.
It is cloudy here this morning, started off sunny and we had plans to head to the beach. Think I'll go and walk the beach anyway - it feels wonderful to feel the salty air and ocean breeze - certainly makes you feel lucky to be alive and well.
So I've shaken off the duldrums and I'm ready to go.
Have a good day.

Good Morning. Just a quick check in. I'm not feeling too good today - I hit my head last night and it has messed me up good. My head hurts (not just the spot with the knot) my neck hurts and my back is tender. I didn't sleep real well. I may need to see a chiropractor. Mine retired and I haven't gotten around to finding a new one. Ah such is life. I will take it easy today.
Also- asking you all to send "positive thoughts", prayers my way tomorrow. I see my hand surgeon in the morning and get the results of my MRI. I am really hoping I can put off another surgery! In case I haven't said anything about my hands- I have bad ones. haha. I'm 51 but my doctor say's I have the hands of an 80 year old. I have severe osteoarthiritis. I had surgery in March of last year but things aren't good again. I'll let you all know how things go at my appt. tomorrow.
That's it for me. Have a good day. I will try to get a walk in later, depends on how my body feels.

Good morning to all. Just a "slide" by. I'm getting hammered with electric calls, trees on lines, poles leaning and I've even gotten a lot of BIG Thank You's for restoring power so quick. Like those calls. So do the guys. I don't know if I'll get a chance to post today or not, but just wanted to check in. Have a good day!

It's hectic when we have to leave the office to buy cars. This will be a quick response so I can update our inventory, vacuum/dust the office, and clean the bathroom.
MOLLY....glad to hear your sister's power came back on but what a shame losing everything in the fridge. At least the food in her freezer was okay. Hope you have an easy day today.
PAULA2....you did good ordering the chicken sandwich but ya shoulda known one fry would lead to two, to three, and more but the zero point soup for dinner saved the day! We all have to enjoy a treat now and then as long as we know how to fit it into our meal plan for the day.
NANCY....hope everything goes well for Ted this morning. You will definitely have a busy week so pot when you can. We understand. I'll take your word for it that pumpkin ravioli is good! LOL Years ago a bunch of us went on motorcycles out to a little restaurant in the Everglades. We left in the late afternoon and drove back after dark. I froze my buns off so, your ride yesterday brought back memories of it!
NANCY2....Wow! You WON $295 at a Super Bowl party? That is the BEST! When I lived in Florida, I went to a Super Bowl party somewhere EVERY year...or I had them at my own house! They were always so much fun! The list is AWESOME!! My DIL, Missy, is carrying around a 5000 BTU Air Condtioner and the mental picture is cracking me up!!
JUDY....glad you liked the movie. I'm not much of SJP fan but the previews of that movie did look funny. Glad you enjoyed it.
JOYCE....can't wait to hear how delicious the cheesy shells are! Your idea of saying it over and over is a good one. "Forks are not shovels, forks are not shovels!" I love it. You sure did cook a lot yesterday but now you're all set for a few days!
KATHIE....happy to hear your Mom is home safe and sound. I'll bet she'll have lots to tell you about. Hey..take care of yourself! The last thing you need is a cold or the flu! Are you feeling better today? I'm feeling MUCH better this morning but still have a tough time sleeping at night. Either my nose gets stopped up and I can't breathe or I cough to the point I wake myself up! Maybe tonight will be better.
I'll be back later this afternoon.

Yes the game was good. Even better that we won $295.00.. I did ok yesterday at the party. Only had a few chips and sweets..But I had a great breakfast and lunch because I knew the pot luck would be hard to eat at..
Tay: Hope you don't over do it today! And that you are on the way to recovery.
Nancy: How wonderful I didn't realize you to have met before. Well I hope you both have a wonderful time again this year.
Eileen: Did you and Norma get to meet? Hope your mini vacation went well.
Kathie: Do you track your weight watchers points on here? I like how this tracks my calories for me. But it just doesn't seem to working as well as I hoped it would.
Carol: Hope you are doing well...
Joyce: Wow 13 cats. I love cats but I don't think I could handle that many. We are calling are Vet. today to see about getting this little guy in. Plus we want to make sure he is healthy since we don't know where he has come from. Thanks so much for posting the calories for the cheesy chicken I think I will try and fix that also. Wonder if they have whole wheat shells!
Judy: Sounds like you had a great time shopping and cooking good for you. And a wonderful time at the movies. Remember to keep moving and drinking...
Molly: Wow you guys had a busy night. I bet all your customers where happy to get there power back..Have a great day.
Ok hope everyone has a blessed day keep drinking and moving..BBL...

Hi All - we are starting to pack up the 5th wheel to head for home but wanted you all to know Norma, Roger, Lloyd, and I all had breakfast on Saturday and were able to sit and talk for about an hour and a half. Norma is a wonderful lady and they are a terrific couple. They have done so much traveling and just living every day to its fullest - they are an inspiration. Norma looks wonderful and I know she will have this crazy disease beat. Lloyd and I went to Kartchner Caverns on Friday and then to four wineries on Saturday. Had great tastings and bought lots of wine. Lloyd only likes the sweet stuff and I like the drys. Yesterday it was so cold, windy, and rainy and we just stayed in the trailer and watched the HBO miniseries Rome. It was really good. Of course, we had a good couple of glasses of wine while we were watching. It was a little cold for me to be here this time of year. I didn't realize how different the temperature would be. We would like to come down again in April or October and would love to have Norma and Roger show us all of the sites they told us about. Will post pictures when we get back home. Have read posts but can't possibly reply now. Will get back on track later this week. Congrats to the Saints and all of their fans. Talk with you later!

Nancy, I agree with you, it was the best Super Bowl game in a lonnnng time. Can't say the same for the commercials.
I'm heading to the office early to meet Dean and head south to our Wholesaler. We need to buy a couple of vehicles and want to get back by 9:00 or 9:30. BBL

Good morning Sparkettes! That was about the best SuperBowl ever! Such a close game.... and a clean one! Both teams played some very good football. And... the 'Aint's won! I guess they won't be called THAT any more! I think that will end up helping the city of New Orleans! They are still struggling after Katrina. This week is going to be very busy for me.... and I don't know how much I'll be on here. Tomorrow morning I have to take Ted for his colonoscopy.... so I won't be posting in the morning. Hopefully I'll be able to check in after we get home.... but I'll have to go right back out to get groceries... maybe. Wednesday I go to Mom's.... then Thursday we leave for Destin.... returning on Saturday late afternoon. I'm sure I'll be doing a bunch of "drive by's".... so ya'll don't talk about anything interesting! LOL
Nancy2... last year when Carol and I met, we did very good behaving ourselves! She had made a very healthy and lovely snack tray for us (but also had wine for me.... but this year I've cut WAY back on that! LOL). Then we must have walked about 40 miles! It was a beautiful day, and we just walked and talked! Hopefully we can do similar this year!
Tay... yesterday on my bike the coldest part was my cheeks (even though I have a face shield on my helmet)... and I was wondering if with the wind chill if I could get frost bite when it's 50 actual degrees!!! I never REALLY got warm all day until I got under my electric blanket last night! (During the game!)
Joyce... thanks for the nutrition listing for the chicken shells. Is that for a three shell serving?
Molly... I really do feel sorry for all the people who lose power in the ice storms! It's bad enough when we lose power here... but I can deal with the warm weather... But if it were COLD outside, I don't know how I'd warm up without my electric blanket! My feet would NEVER get warm!!! Glad your sister's power came back on! She should have taken her freezer stuff and put it OUTSIDE! I have found that my freezer stuff will stay frozen for two days IF I don't open the door (But my freezer is a large one.)
JBARBER1953... Yes, SP can be overwhelming at first.... until you get used to it. But it has wonderful tools! One of them being the great support! Tell us something about yourself!
CMON2490 Welcome... Even though I do not work outside the home, there are MANY of us here at this board who do... and somehow they find the time to post most days. The benefits are worth the efforts!
Paula.... I'm coming to YOUR house to eat! All those home made dishes sound SO good... AND healthy! I need to get in a "cooking" mode again. I've been in a cooking rut lately... it's been healthy, but somewhat boring. I need to drag out my cook books! Mu "rule of thumb" for riding is USUALLY 70 degrees. Any lower than that is just uncomfortable!
Paula2... Sometimes it IS worth the extra calories/points to splurge! But you did it the RIGHT way and compensated at dinner! That's what this whole "lifestyle change" is all about! There might have been a time when you not only sprung for the regular hamburger and fries, but would have eaten a large dinner too! And possibly a dessert! Great job!
Kathie... YES! As I just told P2... this "lifestyle change" is really working for us! One or two brownies is certainly better than eating the entire pan!!! Oh... I'm still at 148..... but it was on the lower end (I don't count the decimal points!) I tried standing on one foot and everything trying to get down to the 147... but nada! Maybe tomorrow! I HAD to ride my motorcycle yesterday.... the rest of this week is OUT for riding.... and next weekend COULD be raining (or freezing!)... so since it was at least sunny, I decided a short spin was worth it. It WAS, indeed, cold... but mentally it was SO refreshing!
Judy... I heard about "The Morgans"... But I'm not much of a movie goer. I usually wait until they make it to "On Demand".... but by then I've usually lost interest! Glad you enjoyed your day!
Poor Ted can only have clear liquids today (and NO BEER!!!).... so I won't be cooking... will probably have a Lean Cuisine for dinner. (Oh... has anybody seen Healthy Choice Pumpkin Ravioli? It sounds strange, but is WONDERFUL! And full of fiber and stuff. I don't think the salt content is terribly high either.) Have a great day, and a "Losing" week! I'll check back when I can..... but don't worry if you don't hear much from me this week!

Another quick post. Brandi and I went and saw, Have you heard about the Morgans, it was cute. I spend the rest of the day and part of the evening helping them with their computer. Now I'm relaxing and having a tea and then going to bed to read. I'll be back tomorrow. Judy

Good evening ladies. Since my calorie count was up around 1650 Mr. T and I spent time together and I burned 700+ calories. Made it a good day. It’s cold and snowy outside so I made white chicken chili and corn muffins. At least we’re not buried under feet of snow so I can’t complain.
Paula2 - every now and then it IS worth having something special. I find that if I don’t, I eat more calories trying to satisfy myself with other things. The key is every once in a while.
Tay - I’ll be making the cheesy shells soon and the program on my phone is much easier and faster then the SP recipe program. Forks are not shovels, forks are not shovels, forks are not shovels…..I figured if I write it and say it enough I’ll remember it when I’m at the table. Hahahahah So glad you’re feeling better. We’re supposed to snow tonight again so I’ll be hanging out at home again.
Paula1 - I did a lot of cooking this weekend as well. I made morning glory muffins, red pepper bisque, white chicken chili and corn muffins. The muffins freeze very well and are a healthy alternative for me.
Molly - glad your sister’s power is back on. We’re blessed here because our power very rarely goes out. You really did put in a lot of extra hours but you’ll enjoy your comp time. Almost all of June’s cats had medical issues and that’s why she adopted them. They went from the shelter to the vet and finally back home when they were well. She’d be rolling in $$$ if she didn’t have the vet bills. LOL
Nancy - Brrrrr is right - didn’t you freeze riding at 50 degrees? When I worked for the pediatric orthopedic surgeons we tried to get our patients scheduled for surgery in a very timely manner and I was usually able to do it. It’s amazing how much behind the scenes activity there is in getting just one surgery scheduled. When I worked at Children’s Hospital I had veggie burgers for lunch pretty often and they were great. I didn’t have to watch my sodium then.
Kathie - Thanks for the shell recipe - I’ll be making that sometime this week. I know my kids will love it. Hope you enjoyed your weekend without kids. Must be a nice change for you. Have you heard from your mom yet? Hope her flight got in okay. Donna’s in WI and the storm we’re having now is moving in her direction so we’re hoping she doesn’t get snowed in the airport there on Tuesday.
Laura - Way to go with the gym….you’ll see the tracker moving down if you keep that up. How’s Hector doing?
Deb - good for you losing another 2 lbs. It’s better to think of it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. I found that after a diet you go right back to eating your old way and before you know it, the weight is back on. Changing your thinking is the first step and I know it has worked for me. Not enough calories????? That has never happened to me. That’s why I have to exercise so much. LOL
Katie - hope you’re starting to feel better.
Hope you all enjoyed watching the game but didn‘t eat too many treats. I’m not into sports so I’ve been watching a movie. I actually drank most of my water today. That’s a good thing. See you tomorrow.
Joyce

Hi Ladies,
I’m listening to the Super Bowl. I’m also cheering on the Saints and Tom switched to the Colts.
Tay I hope you start to feel better soon. My ears are bugging me and I have a runny nose I sure hope I’m not getting sick. We were so dead today at work I thought I was going to go nuts. There’s still a State of Emergency south of us so no one was out on the road if they were they were from Ohio. Tom did eat the last brownie. I can say I use to eat the whole pan and do it for days and now I can stop at one or two and tell myself I can have it again sometime so I know my lifestyle change is working. Mom is home and I think very happy to be home. She said they left the motel yesterday at 8 and she never got home till 7pm tonight. Very tired.
Molly there are people south of us that won’t have power for 5 days or so. There were some people in buying inverters today for family members without power. Several calls for generators and wanting to know the next town so they could call there as I’m guessing anyone local to them is out of them. People were stranded on the highways for several hours not being able to go anywhere so it was a nasty storm. I am so thankful it missed us.
Nancy I don’t think you would get me on a motorcycle at 50 degrees. Now if it were 80 maybe. You can lose a pound just keep your intake down and your exercise up. I’m striving for a pound on Wednesday.
Deb Congrats on the loss. Stick with us and you will lose.
Judy congrats on your loss also.
Nancy2 rough night with kitty. I would imagine so with it being the first night.
Carol wow you and Nancy will be seeing each other this week.
Eileen how did your visit with Norma go? Keep us informed.
Joyce thanks for posting the calorie content. I’ll have to look at that again before deciding if I want to make it now.
If I missed anyone I’ll catch you tomorrow. I think I’ll watch the game and relax. Off to work in the morning and then I’m sure I won’t even be around Tuesday at all. It’s inventory day.
Have a great night stay focused and move it tomorrow if you are able.
Kathie

Good evening all. Just stopping in quickly to say hi. My family is watching some silly football game on tv (haha) so I am staying busy doing other things. I took a 4 mile walk with a friend and enjoyed being out in the sunshine. We went to a new burger place for lunch after church today. I was good and had a grilled chicken sandwich on a wheat bun. I wasn't so good about the fries. They were delicious!! I only had 12 but they were BIG. Tonight I am having 0 point soup and a big salad for dinner. Let me just say it was worth the points to have such a yummy lunch!!
Hope you've all had a good weekend. We get another day of sunshine tomorrow so I will get in another good walk. I'll check in to read everyones posts tomorrow.
Enjoy the game if you are watching. I'm going to go get some more laundry going.

Good evening! Just a short drive by. Just finished dinner and watching some of the game. My sister didn't have to come and stay with us, her power came on this afternoon at 6:30, she is so happy. She lost all her food in the fridge, but her freezer foods are still frozen. I'm glad she has power.
Going back to the games.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!

JBarber....if you'd like to join our group, we'd love to have you. I ask three things of the girls here. #1 is post your weight tracker, which you've done. #2 is, I'm sure you've noticed, we all have a close-up picture of ourselves in our profiles. Please post yours, if you can. If you need help, let us know. Lastly, tell us your first name, what state you live in, married, single, kids, grands, work, pets, hobbies, etc. There are about 15 of us who post nearly everyday. We motivate each other, tease each other, joke with each other and most of all CARE about each other. Our main goal is to lose weight but we do chat about other things going on in our lives. Friends do that. Again, welcome to the group, if you'd like to join us.
MOLLY....that storm really created a lot of power lines going down and your company, I'm sure, busted their butts to help as many people as they could. You were a trooper for putting in the extra time to help out as well. I feel bad for your poor sister being ousted from her house! What a bummer! You'll have a great Super Bowl party tonight and I'm sure she's glad you invited her! Your dinner sounds yummy. Mine will be salsa chicken in the crock pot, brown rice, and fresh green beans. It's smelling so good and I'm SO hungry! Can't wait for Jake tomorrow night but, FIRST...GO SAINTS! (Maybe!)
JOYCE....thanks for posting the nutritional info. You're a good doobie!
I'm off to feed Sissy and myself. I also have to iron a few things before the Super Bowl game starts! Sure hope it's a close game! Have a great evening ladies and watch those forks! They're NOT shovels!
PAULA...we posted at the same time. Yes, I'm feeling lots better, thank you. It's a great idea to cook up lots of healthy foods in one day, dividing it up in serving sizes, and freezing them for easy dinners during the week. Hate that your weather is gloomy. Maybe tomorrow will be sunny and nice for you. Glad you're cheering on the Saints! They need all the help they can get with the likes of Peyton out there. He's like a flippin machine! haha

Happy Super Sunday everyone! It's cold and gray here in the Lone Star State. I went on a cooking jag this weekend. I do that every now and then, but this time I cooked only healthy things that I could freeze. I made some fresh pesto sauce which I love on whole grain pasta, some chicken vegetable and barley soup, and some homemade marinara sauce. The canned and bottled varieties of soups and sauces have so much sodium that I just decided to make my own. I'm making pizza for dinner--healthy pizza. Lots of veggies and wheat crust. I hope everyone is safe and warm today. I know those of you on the east coast may be buried under snow but I hope everyone is warm. Tay--I hope you're feeling better. I know what you mean about the nagging cough. It's maddening.
Nancy-I agree. 50 is just too cold to ride. I think 80 is the perfect temperature.
I know I missed a lot of folks because I was negiligent in my duty to post once a day, but I promise to do better.
Geaux Saints and everyone have a blessed day!

Good afternoon to all. It's sunny and blue sky here, finally! I slept in late this morning after working till 9 last night. Why is it when you work late you have a harder time going to sleep? I guess maybe you're keyed up from working? We had restored all but 12 peoples power last night and those are on now. The city has lights, but the county. We have 65% of our county without power, I'm lucky to have power. My sister has been out since Friday at 2pm and was told it could be Tuesday before it's restored. Her family has been staying in a motel, but I told her tonight come to stay with me. Her daughter goes to the city school and they have school tomorrow. Guess we can have a superbowl party tonight!
Judy, congrats on the 3 pound loss. That's wonderful! See, you're doing great! Doesn't it make you feel good to drop some pounds?
Deb, I love playing poker! Texas Hold'en is one on my favorites. We use to have couples over and we would play poker all weekend, once a month. So much fun. Congrats on your 2 pounds! Way to go!!!!
Nancy, I really don't mind working the overtime when we have power out. I usually don't get fussed at to much. But let mine go out and I'm the worse about calling and fussing! Mike laughs about it. Glad you're getting to ride some. I know you love the wind in the face but don't get to cold. You're just getting over a bad cold. You're so lucky to be able to start working in your yard. Not here, to much white stuff on the ground! Should make the ground good for planting later.
Tay, hate you're down with a mean cold! Nothing worse. I bet you really had to fight the people in Walmart this morning. Mike went early and said it was packed here. Wonder what's going on with Jake NOT giving out a rose this week? Wonder if he's made his mind up and sends them all home??? I'm going to try the chicken burgers, I like the others so I know I'll enjoy them. I'm fixing meatballs for today, some grilled chicken tenders with ranch dressing, tossed salad, some green beans and I don't know what Ashley and Jason are fixing. Ginger can't cook so she's bringing chips. I don't have to have them!
Joyce, I didn't know your daughter had all those cats. I love animals of all kinds, even snakes and lizards. We've had them all here as pets with the girls and I use to have them when I was growing up. My dad even got me two monkeys when I was little. So cute and sweet, then they turn mean! Do all them stay inside?
Kathie, I think it would be great if we could met this summer or fall. It's beautiful here those seasons with the mountains all around us. Thanks for the new recipes. The cake I will fix soon for birthdays at work in March. Hows your weather holding out? Any snow? It's melting some here, but we still have plenty and tonight will the 14 degrees. BURRRRR!
Laura, you're doing great with your working out at the gym. I'm very proud of you! You'll be sporting a new bathing suit this summer at the pool!! Sounds like Hector is a very good dog. How does he do with your cat?
Norma, I think about you often. I'm so happy your treatments are almost over with. You've been a very strong warrior during this time. You're lucky to have Roger to help you out. Soon you'll be out and about traveling again. Did you get to meet up with Eileen? Eileen seems to be a great person. I know you had a great time together.
Eileen, how's the camping? (R-V-ing) I hope one day to get in lots of travel with my grandkids and Mike. I would love to take all them for a Mimi & Papa vacation when we retire. It would be such a memory for us but for them too.
Katie, so sorry you've been under the weather. Hope you're bouncing back and feeling like yourself!
Carol, how's the beach? Sounds like you and Randy are having a great time. I bet those house's were beautiful. When I watch House Hunters and they're in FLA the houses are so pretty! I love the colors they use on them outside and the insides are so beautiful.
Paula2, congrats on your weight loss. Feels great doesn't it? Hope I see some pounds drop soon.
Hello to all those I missed. It's been a while since I was able to answer everyone but hopefully I want be working at Belk this week or working overtime at the city. You guys really do make me feel good about myself and I appreciate you all supporting me and each other. It makes our Life Style Change so much easier knowing you're no alone on this journey. Thanks you!!!!

Cheesy Chicken Shells - nutrition 314 cal 11.8 fat 6.5 sat fat 38.7 chol 736.4 sodium 24.6 carb 2 fiber 27.4 protein
This would be much less sodium if you use sauce without salt. I'll use my DASH spaghetti sauce which has almost no sodium. It's calculated with Barilla jumbo shells.

NANCY.....if the temp is 50, it would feel like 40 on a bike so, I know how you feel. OMG, you're right about the commercials being the best part of the game today! Can't wait to see the new ones but, I'm already bummed with the new baby on E-Trade. The first baby boy was the best!
DEB....congrats on the weight loss! Stick with us and you WILL reach your goal. I promise! We'll haunt the heck out of you til you do!! haha I learned to play Texas Hold-em at our last family reunion and it was really fun even though it's a little more detailed than regular poker. Be careful you don't get hooked like my BIL! I fear he's become hopelessly addicted on-line!
I'm on my way out the door to Walmart so, have a great afternoon ladies. Are you all getting in some exercises? Hope so. BBL
PS....wasn't it today that Eileen, Lloyd, Norma, and Roger were meeting for breakfast? Can't wait to hear from them. I know they had a great time. Nancy, Ted, Carol, and Randy will meet next weekend and I'll be meeting Molly again next month! Too bad more of us couldn't meet with each other.

This is a quick note this morning. I have church and was up until 1am with the kitten.
Tay: Sorry to hear about the rough tough night!! I hope you feel better soon. Have you ever tried the vegan boca burgers lower in fat and calories and higher in protein.
Nancy: That's great that you and Carol are going to meet how exciting. Just make sure you keep each other focused and you don't splurge to much on bad foods!!!
Deb: Congrats on the 2 lbs of weight loss WooooHooo!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Ok off to get ready for church..Hope everyone has a blessed day! And that your football team wins...We are not into football I don't even know who is playing but I really like watching the commercials LOL...Bye for now..Keep drinking and moving and the fat will come off!!!

Burrrrrrrrrrr.... 50 degrees is just too cold to ride a motorcycle! I guess I'm just crazy! I know there are those who ride in the SNOW.... but even if you have all the cold weather gear, there comes a point where all that bundling up just isn't worth it! I got out and rode this morning, because the rest of the week I won't be able to... and who know what the weather will be NEXT week (plus... that week I've GOT to start on yard work if the weather permits!)
Tay... I'll be watching the SuperBowl (and pulling for the Saints!)... but I'll be watching in MY bedroom! Ted drives me nuts during any football games, and especially the SuperBowl. He will either "mute" it, or flip the station during the commercials... and THAT's the best part!!! He can't STAND commercials
Deb... Great work! Down another 2 pounds! That is motivation to me to "get with the program"! I'm gonna be extra "good" this week!
BABE741... Are you going to join us, or are you just a "drive by"?

Hi Again,
Just another quick note. I am so excited. I am down another 2 pounds! This is the first time since I dieted after my daughter was born (we're talking 22 years ago) that I am really losing weight on a diet (or way of life change). Usually I lose a pound or two and then the next day or so there it is again! It's a good feeling to see the scale going down. This forum is helping a lot, so thanks everyone.
Tay - I just started playing Texas Hold Em this past summer. My husband held a tournament in our backyard and we had about 35 people. I din't think I liked to play the game, but had never understood the whole concept (big buy, little buy, all in, etc.) I learned that day and ended up winning the whole thing!! I won $800. I think I am actually starting to like it a bit too much!!!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everybody! Yayyy! It's Super Bowl Sunday! Go Saints!
It's my turn to call my sister this morning (at 8:00am) so, I'll see how far I get reading/answering posts before then.
I slept worse last night than the night before because of the dry, tickly cough. It was SO annoying!!
NANCY....I know how tired you are with the constant cough for 5 weeks and sure hope mine subsides sooner than that. If you like Boca Burgers, try their chicken patties. They are REALLY good! I'll have to try them on those Arnold sandwich rolls. I'm sure they're delicious. Poor Ted and his roto rooter prep stuff! Ugh! Go Saints! I'm looking forward to the game and hope Brees has a great game.
DEB2....Texas Holdem is so much fun. Congrats to you for coming in 3rd and winning the $$. Did you have to pay an entry fee to participate? If so, maybe your winnings covered it. Remember you have to eat to lose!! Craving apples is a good thing.
JUDY....congrats to you for losing 3 lbs. THAT is great and you're on your way. With your cupboards and fridge filled with healthy choices, you are on the right track! How exciting for your nephew! He'll surely be up close and personal at the Olympics!
KATHIE....thank you for sending the e-mail for me to Sparks. I've tried everything including your suggestion to click on "View" and making sure the text is set at extra large. It doesn't change the font on everything here at Sparks. At least I can read what I'm typing. It's okay. I've exhausted every avenue to fix it and nothing works. I'm stuck with the teeny print. I'm with you and think WW is the best way for me to keep the weight off forever. Did Tom eat the last brownie for you? haha For sure you'll love the Celebration Cake. It's so light, moist, and yummy! Hope your legs fell better today.
JOYCE.....it sounds logical to introduce a new cat to others by doing it slowly over the course of a few days. I'm sure you'll be more focused when Donna gets back especially being able to walk 5 or 6 days a week. Portion control will always be a challenge for everyone who gets hungry or if the food is especially delicious! It's a human trait to expand the portion size a wee bit!
NANCY2....for sure I overdid it a little bit and should have known better. Today I'll take it slow and easy. I'm so glad your little kitten has found a home. If everyone would save one cat or dog, there wouldn't be a need for shelters. DO take a picture of him and put it in your Spark photos. I can't picture you being an overbearing MIL! Never! haha
CAROL...I'm sure you and Randy were amazed and overwhelmed seeing the beautiful homes but, those people can't possibly be happy! haha They're too consumed with money issues! I always say, "Less is more!"
Hope you all have a great day! After breakfast, I'll finish my chores from yesterday and go to Walmart. It's sunny today and despite the cold, it's going to be a pretty day! I'll check back later. STAY FOCUSED, think before you eat and do not sit on your fannies all day!

Good morning Ladies!
Nancy2... Sometimes the SP messages don't get sent for some reason... but there's no way there won't be any posts here daily! I always come here first whether I get a message or not. Our orthopedic surgeon tries to schedule surgery within 30 days of the diagnosis. He COULD have had it done NEXT WEEK! But we are going to visit Carol and Randy, and there are other things we need to get done before his surgery, so Ted opted for March instead. Yeah... Ted gets to start the lovely "cleansing" tomorrow. I don't look forward to that.... and I KNOW he doesn't!!!
Molly... poor thing! Having to work till midnight! Somebody's got to do it!
Kathie... I sure hope your Mom makes it home okay! I would hate to be traveling in this weather!! I've decided to take my dumbbells with me when Ted has his colonoscopy. We should be there for about 2 hours, and I'm sure I can find a hallway or other place where I can do my shoulder exercises.... and perhaps some squats. Better than sitting and reading the entire time!
Tay... I like the Boca burgers. They aren't like "real" hamburgers, but they aren't bad! (I had one yesterday for lunch on an Arnold "thin bun") Poor baby. I know what you are going though with that cough. Mine STILL isn't completely gone.... and it's been 5 weeks!
Kiki... This is the week! I'm getting excited!
Joyce.... When you calculate Kathie's chicken recipe, be sure to post the calorie count (since YOU are doing it, it means "I" don't have to! LOL)
Judy... Congratulations on being down 3 pounds! I know you are glad to have HEALTHY food in the house! Things seem to be looking up for you!
Deb... Woohoo! You won $90! That's fun! AND managed to stay UNDER your calorie limit (I know that isn't recommended, but I don't think it hurts occasionally!)
I'll be back later this afternoon. Have a SUPER day! Go Saints!
Judy - Congrats on the loss, apparently you are doing something right.! The book was so helfpful to me, I just today sent a copy to a friend of mine that I;m concerned for health-wise. Hopefully she will like it and get into it.'
Molly - Subway has a delicious veggie burger that I get on a whole grain roll with a bit of the chipotle sauce on it. Yum
Had a good day today, but didn't eat enough calories. Very unusual for me. Went to a small Texas Hold'em Tournament tonight. I came in third. Won $90. It was fun, but I was starving. All they had were donuts (no way) potato chips (1 serving) and peanut m&m's (about 5) I really wanted an apple (another unusual thing for me).
Pretty tired. Going to bed now. Very comfy on our new mattress we just got. We downsized from a King to a Queen because our bedroom is pretty small. Should be interesting to see how that goes. (He better push over!)
Good night everyone. Deb

What a busy day, but it was worth it. I haven't enjoyed grocery shopping so much. My fridge and cupboards are full of healthy stuff. I even bought The Spark, I wanted my own copy instead of the one from the library, this way I can make notes in it and nobody can say anything. We went to two big grocery stores and spend quite a bit, but we haven't done a shopping like this in about 8 months. I lost 3lbs this morning, guess this means I am doing something right. My nephew is a camera man and is going to be at the Olympics filming all the sliding events, luge, bobsleigh, anything that involves sliding. Kind of neat to have a connection. We won't be going, driving through the mountains in the winter isn't my idea of fun, and the cost of airfare and hotels is outrageous, even if there were any rooms left. I think they have been booked solid for months. Pretty tired now, just going to watch a movie and work on my scarf that I'm crocheting. Logged in my food and was within my calories, but the sodium wasn't so good. Better choices tomorrow. Have read all your posts to keep up. Have a good evening! Judy

Tay I sent and email for you to spark and they said there is no way to adjust the font on spark but that you should be able to do it in your browser so good luck. I guess when you think your feeling better your really not. I have been so tired the last few days and I’m sure hoping that isn’t a sign I’m getting sick. Usually when I do get tired like this I am coming down with something. I’m going to bed extra early tonight as I’ve had a hard time keeping the eyes open. I’ll try the cake when the kids are here next if I remember as I know I will eat it all myself if it’s good. Tom has one more brownie left and they will be gone. Good thing about them they do make a small pan.
Nancy2 I know the only way for me is WW’s. I get on the site and look for good stuff and when I find it I post it for everyone. I will reach my goal again and maintain it for life. I really just don’t like this roller coaster ride of weight loss and with the support on here I will keep it off.
Carol sounds like you had a fun day. I didn’t go very far. Tom wanted to go to Wal-Mart so we got some tomato seeds and he planted them. He said he wants tomatoes this year. Last year we had blight and didn’t do so well with them. I told him could take care of them. He needs some responsibility. I told him to plan where he wants the garden this year as we are moving it also.
Oh do my legs hurt today it has to be from the treadmill. I felt out of shape today.
I’ll bbl if I can stay awake.

Good afternoon ladies. Amazingly I’m getting on before dark.
Nancy2 - It takes cats a week or so to get used to each other. We always put the new one in a separate room for a few days and then let him out to spy out the land while the other cats were locked in the room. Then we let them out together. It was advised by the Humane Society and it worked pretty well for us. All of our cats (Donna and I have 3 and June has 10) are fixed even though they are all inside cats.
Tay - I love the Boca Burgers and have to figure out how to work them back into my diet (the sodium is the hard part for me). They’d be great on the Arnold Thins with tomato and lettuce. Once Donna gets back from WI on Tuesday we’ll start walking 5 or 6 days a week and then all I have to do is add a short time with Mr. T or the elliptical every day. I am not eating like I did in my “former” life! This time I can honestly say I have had a lifestyle change. I almost always make healthy choices but sometimes struggle with portion control.
Deb2 - I had a Mac laptop and loved it. It had been Donna’s and was old and when it died, I couldn’t afford to get another so I went back to a PC. Since I have the iPhone I don’t spend much time on the laptop anymore so it’s ok.
Kathie - That recipe for the chicken shells sounds fabulous. I’m going to enter it into my recipe program and then I’ll post the calorie info for everyone who’s interested. Hope to get to do it by tomorrow. Sounds like something we’ll really enjoy. Glad you weren’t pounded by the snow. We’re supposed to get snow Sunday and Monday but they’re only anticipating 1-4 inches so that won’t be bad. It’s been warm so it will probably melt off the roads rapidly. I haven’t totally cut chocolate as I have a mocha latte (I just limit how much chocolate they add) and keep my Zone bars. Last time I had dark chocolate chips, I ATE them….so since I can’t be trusted, they can’t come in the house.
Molly - you must be pooped with the hours you’re working. I’m with you about the comp time though. If you get the $$, it’s gone in a flash but a week off with pay can’t be beat!
Carol - too bad this has been such a cold winter for Florida although it’s still probably much warmer then Canada. Plus you get the benefit of walking on the beach. It’s been years since I’ve done that.
Got to run and finish my laundry, feed the cats and get dinner for me and Dom. See you all tomorrow and hope you have a wonderful evening.
Joyce
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. Phil 4:6-7 (NLT)
Many dieters love 100-calorie snack packs, which allow them to easily control portions while enjoying their favorite foods. But just how healthy are these snacks?
