Glad to see that the scales were nice to most everyone this week as mine was as well. 185.4 this morning. I had been as high as 188 this week so I am more convinced than ever that the dizziness was caused by fluid & sinus issues. Regardless, it is better.

I'm also handling the grief a little better. Even got out for a meeting today then out to dinner with friends tonight. They followed us back home for coffee afterwards. We had not done that in ages! Sure did enjoy the company. Now I'm off to bed. Having trouble holding my eyes open.

I'll check back tomorrow to tally our Feb results. I for one need to get back to tracking & posting meals/calories. Any ideas for a March Challenge anyone?

Hi all,
I sent a long message yesterday, hit a button, and it all went away. I was gonna do it again but I was really tired and went to bed early.

I weighed in this morning and am down 2.5 pounds. I have not been hungry at all and I am getting all the food groups in and almost as many veggies I am supposed to each day. It seems so good to eat healthy, eat a lot (ha ha) and be able to lose weight. Can hardly wait til I start exercising to see me in bigger clothes...What a nice problem to have huh.

We are still having VERY cold weather. Was minus 10 this morning and that was not taking into consideration the wind chill. We have some snow on the ground but not too much. Supposed to get about 1-3 inches in a few days. And stay cold. I am so looking for mid-March when the temp is supposed to start being in the low 30's, Of course, the wind chill could make that not seem so high huh....

My fish tank had so much green stuff on the inside we could hardly see our fish. Gave it a good scrubbing and now our Beta is doing much better. I think those are the cutest fish ever. Look like they have feathers for fins.

Mary, I hope you are getting enough rest. Sometimes our body just tells us when we are over doing things. And you seem to be a go-getter. Remember to drink lots of water too.

It has been so nice to read all your posts. I have missed it so much. Hopefully I won't lose track of you again.

Well, its shower time and I would like to start a new book before bed time. I have SO many books I did not know what to do with them. I did not want to 'get rid of them' so I am loaning them to my daughter in Florida. She started reading one while I was there and had to call me when she finished it to tell me how good it was.

Hope to hear from all of you.

By the way, is there a challenge for March? Hope so, they are so encouraging and fun.

Gotta run, have a great night and will check in this weekend some time.

Hi everyone. I managed to stay the same this week. Thank goodness for that. I've been out more then in and it's just been very hectic.

Today I left the house with hubby at 7;15am went to get our grand daughter and take her to work. Then we headed over to pick up a friend and head to her doctor's appointment. From there got gas and then took hubby to the train station and found we still had about an hour until the appointment. so we went to Tims's for a coffee and tea for me . Got a phone call from hubby saying he missed the train by 2 minutes. Boy oh boy , went to pick him up and then drop of my girlfriend at the doctors and then head back to town to the metro station. It was 40 minutes away. Dropped him off and headed back to meet my friend. We went for lunch and then I took her home. I got home and managed to put a load of wash in and within the hour hubby was calling to go and get him . We finally got home at 4;30. Needless to say no excerise for me today. I feel like a couch potatoe.

I'll be going to bed early tonight.

Good morning to all, First of all I hope that you all get better really soon. Take care of yourselves. Rest is always good.
I managed to stay at the same weight this week. emoticon
Saw the oncologist Wed. and he was happy with most of my lab tests. He ordered more tests now as checking for other types of cancer thru my body. Kind of scared of what they might find, but better to know and be able to do something about it . My friends hubby that passed away last week was too late in finding out about his cancer. I am doing my best to keep his wife company if only over the phone. She has had so much to deal with lately.
Today we are off to my DH appointment. At our ages that what outings are all about now. Dr, dr. dr. Wish it was to the theatre or dining instead. I think the good old days are past.
Enough grumbling. Off to walk the dog. Its a pretty grey day outside but at least it is not raining like it did yesterday. Could not believe how much rain we got.

Hi All!

I can't believe it is Friday already. I don't know where the time has gone this week its been so busy here. My weight dropped .4 of a lb to 142.4.

Mary - please take good care of yourself. I agree with Margaret - you really need some rest.

I hope spring comes soon for you ladies stuck in the deep snow zones. I know Margaret, Bernie and Agnes have had a rough winter with it. We seem to be in spring mode here with most of the snow gone, spring flowers are poking out of the ground as well as some perennials showing signs of life. I always feel so happy when I see that.

Lynn - have fun cleaning the fish tank. When I read that it brought back memories of our old aquarium and the hours I spent cleaning it.......don't miss it at all!

At mid week I thought I might have all of next week off but as of last evening I'm already booked to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. One of these years I truly will retire...lol...but so far enjoying being part of the work force.

I've been absent the past few days...seems the "Honey-Do" list keeps getting longer and I feel like the proverbial hamster on a wheel!

Today's weight for me was 203.1#'s. Down a bit for the week, but like most, was hoping for more! What's the saying about "Hope in one hand and ..." You all get the idea...I'm not in charge here.

Today I'm grateful for this day, the freedoms we have in this country unlike so many others, my family and all of you who inspire me so much.

I held my breath and got on the scale this morning. Haven't checked my weight in awhile. It's 140.5 which is less that I thought it would be. I still have the fever/cold, and we're due to get another snow storm on Sun/Mon. that's not good at all as I'm supposed to leave for DC on Monday. Well, I can't do anything about it, so I'm just going to take it one day at a time.

I think we are all ready for March. But here they are calling for 6-10 more inches of that white stuff between Fri and sunday. Not looking forward to any more. We have a foot most places on the ground.

Bitter cold again with wind chills sub-zero. So can't do much outside. No laundry done in a week as the laundry building is just too cold and besides, walk there is still snow covered lol. Good excuse to just stay in. Hope I can get there tomorrow to weigh in.

Mary, do take care of yourself. Exhaustion and dehydration can take it's toll; when I'm dizzy that's usually what's going on.

I'm on antibiotics now, and hoping to start feeling better tomorrow. Crazy February. I'll be happy to move into March.

Mary, go to bed and stay there till the dizziness has passed. It's the best thing to do and it's the safeties place to be . You can't fall if your laying down. LOL I know it's not very pleasant to be like this but with all the things that have been happening to you in the passed couple of weeks I'm not surprised. Your body needs you to have some quiet time relax. Take care.

Agnes, it's been a very long winter. Worse for you then me. You've had more of the white stuff and I've had the artic temperatures. Don't get me wrong we still got the white stuff as well but you were hit harder with it. The weather man was saying that with the server cold we have been experiencing was sending the snow south so we were getting the tail ends of the storms.

So I'm very sorry that you have been hit so hard and I hope you do see something more then snow when you go to DC .Maybe your work should send you to Hawaie for a week on business. Then you would feel a lot better. LOL

Hang in there girl . You know your strong. Keep up the good work.

Lynn, So how did you fish tank cleaning go? I think that is the first time you have spoken about your fish. What kind do you have? It's really nice having you back.

Hi all,
It's not 'over coffee' but I wanted to drop a line before I have to clean the fish tank...yuck!!!
I am so excited to have a computer again. It is so much fun planning my meals and keeping track of them. I had forgotten....
My hubby hid the scales from me so I can only weigh myself once a week. I am chomping at the bit...I really want to know but I know it would not tell me the correct weight, not until Friday. They say patience is a virtue, maybe something good will come of it.....haha
It is cold here. Temp says 31 and wind chill says 19. It is windy so it is very uncomfortable to be outside. And they are predicting a cold spell (no kidding) coming in until Friday.
Well, my fish is calling me. Poor thing can't even see out of the tank. Was not cleaned while I was gone. Oh well, the chores never end.
I hope all of you are having a good day and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Everyone,

Just stopping by to say hello and to let you all know that I'm ok. It's been a really rough month with the weather and it finally got to me. We've had rain, freezing rain on top of the snow, and snow on top of that. We're due to get another 6 inches of snow tomorrow. The sun is out today but it was minus 10 degrees this morning. So, I know I'm complaining, but it is hard for me to keep my spirits up. I have a cold and I guess that's not helping my attitude either. I'm at the car repair shop now - problems with brakes (yikes, I really need those!) and other things that just can't wait. Our dishwasher broke and a new one will be installed in a few days. These things seem to happen all at once.

I will try to catch up with the messages here. I see there are some birthdays to celebrate! I need to travel to a meeting in DC next week and I'm hoping that I will be able to see something other than snow and ice while I'm there!

Lynn - nice to see you back and doing well. Good for you for losing a pound a week. That is great!

Went shopping for a few things this afternoon and stopped in at my daughter`s to say hi to the grandkids. When I left for home she handed me a new set of drapes she had bought for her new house that need hemming....lol... always something to be done!

Hubby and I went for a nice long 4 mile walk today as the weather was so nice just above freezing.

Hi to all,
I have a new computer and I love it. I was able to find you again. It has been so frustrating to almost get to you and then not be able to. You have been on my mind a lot and its good to be back.

Just got back from a week in Florida to see my daughter. It was in the 60's most days. I loved it. It was mostly wind chill at about -20-30 while I was gone. Had a wonderful time. We did a lot of healthy eating and planning foods and I read my diabetic handbook when I got back. I am ready to start again eating healthy and get 'moving' so I can get some weight off. I have averaged a pound loss a week for about 6 weeks now. Hoping to lose maybe 2 a week when I start eating better and get moving.

Found some 80's cardio music on my phone on Pandora., Told my husband we would dance and get moving and I can just move my arms everywhere and then walk on the treadmill and he could shake his little booty, We should have fun and it will definitely be good for us.

Sounds like everyone is ready for spring to get here. I know I sure am. You all sound great. Sorry to hear for the loss of a friends husband. That can be hard.

Well, better run for now. Hope to hear from all of you.
I flew from Minneapolis to Jacksonville, FL to have my birthday dinner with my daughter and her husband. Told her I felt special, like they do on TV when they fly on their personal jet to go to another city for dinner!!! ha ha

Snowing here again . It started late yesterday afternoon and has been going all night. I'm worried about Agnes. I hope she has been plowed out by now . She has been hit very hard this winter with all the snow and freezing rain.

Hi all,.

What a swing in weather among us from plum blossoms to frigid cold winter weather. I'm grateful I am in the middle with lukewarm days and cold nights However, I am praying for rain

I don't know where my last week went. I was away from the house most of it babysitting and quilting with friends, etc I am very disappointed to say that I am up 1 pound this week at 182.

Thank you for the early birthday wishes. I had some teenagers help me clean my house today so I feel like I got an early birthday present as I look around at all we accomplished.

So far so good calorie wise today. One hour of the Warrior Yoga and half an hour on the treadmill. I feel great!

It's very quiet here. We usually have grandkids on the weekend but it seems we have the weekend off. I've actually been working on my applique wall quilt.

Dwayne, don't be so hard on yourself. Miniscule weight loss or not it's a loss. You'll be back to your old self before long. Just keep healthy.

Linda, I'll be lucky if the snow will be gone by May. LOL . They say the ground will be so saturated that the farmers will have trouble to grow anything. I hope that's not true but you never know.

Theresa, your strength training may be the cause of the slight gain but don't worry at lease it's a good gain.

Char, I know how you feel. We are in for another 5-10 centimeters tomorrow and more on Sunday. The worse is the -25 c with wind chill of -35c. The only thing we can do is stay warm . Spring is just around the corner.

Fast check in. Same still this week. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Staying in calorie range of 1200-1500. Lower and I get very bad way. UGH. Just got out today to the store and now they calling for 8 or more inches in the morning. We have a foot on the ground now and temps are very low, sub zero this morning and only 9 right now.

Hope weekend doesnt mean we are snow bond again. Stay blessed all.

My weight is 142.8 today which is up a bit. I did strength training and cardio first thing this morning and then have been doing housecleaning all day. I'm ready for a cup of tea. Why do my days off always go by so fast?? :-)

Haven't heard from the grandkids yet so maybe it will be a quiet weekend here......but things could change in a heartbeat when the phone rings....

Linda - you are ahead of us a bit with your tulips and daffodils in bloom already. Mine are just poking their heads out of the ground. The crocuses will be the first to bloom. It will be so nice to see some color in the yard again.

Good Morning. Finally down 1 pound. I will be heading out for a dog walk soon this morning. The sun is trying to break thru the fog. At least this is much better weather than some of you have been having. I sure am happy we don't get all the snow.
Had bad news yesterday that a dear friends husband passed away. I have know these people since I was a teen. Very sad day.
Next week I see my oncologist again. Hoping to get a good report from him.
Margaret, I will try my best to send you some nice warm weather. I am seeing tulips and daffodils that are blooming in my garden now. It would be a shame to have snow come now.
Must find some energy to get some yard work done.

Hi All!

Thursday about done! Chicken roasting in the oven for dinner. I did my warrior yoga today and feel great every time I do it. I really notice my balance and strength improving already.

Today I'm grateful for our beautiful weather we have had for the past few weeks. Most of the snow has melted and I see crocuses and tulips poking their heads out of the ground. We could still have a blast of winter so this could hurt these little plants but so far so good.

Linda, the plum blossoms sound beautiful!

Hi All,

Margaret, we've given up on digging out. We are due to get another 8 inches of snow between tonight and the end of the day tomorrow. It was 2 degrees this morning. Funny. We are getting used to being cold and bundling up in many layers. Really looking forward to some warmer weather although I fear what will happen when all this snow starts to melt.

As for keeping/giving away things, I look forward to a time when I have some time to dig through our stuff and start to do this. When we moved to Maine we moved into our house that was under construction. Many boxes remained unopened for a year or more. Although I eventually had a great time opening them up and greeting many of the items like old friends (many were sentimental items from my mother's home and from my mother-in-law's home), I was struck by the fact that I had lived very well for a year without them. Makes you stop and think.

The sun is out for now. It's so nice to see it. Must get ready for the upcoming storm.

Unbelievable!! None forecast but we are getting snow AGAIN!! It warmed a bit today, up to 13 lol. Wanting to find some exercise things to work on here inside. Not much room for walking inside and it's way too cold outside.

i agree with not using/needing things still packed and have started to sell/give away things. It is sort of fun actually and I like getting a few extra bucks in the pocket.

Linda, PLUM BLOSSOMS you have got to be kidding me. With all this lousy weather we have been having . What has the weather angle been sending up to you? Please send some of it to us.

Mary, I hope your brother had a safe trip down. Your always in my thoughts.

Agnes, Hope you got dug out by now and everything is ok with you.

Char, take it a day at a time. Spring cleaning doesn't have to be done in one day. As for unpacking . Well if you haven't needed the thing in 9 months it's more then likely is you won't need them at all. Purge and give them away or sell them . You'll feel a lot better for it.

Dwayne, It's nice to see you posting your workout at the gym again. It means your definitely back to form. Keep up the good work.

I'm baby sitting again. I was supposed to go out with a friend this morning to look at the stores but now I might have to change plans. GGS slept over last night and he'll be raring to go when he wakes up.

Mary, so sorry to hear about your loss. Know that I am thinking about you at this sad time.
Well I had better smarten up with my food . I sure don't want to gain any more. Going to try harder to spend more time with my Spark buddies and not eating sweets.
Today I did not get to go to my aqua fit class but instead visited with friends for lunch. It was nice to see old friends for a nice afternoon. Our weather here today was lovely and to see all the plum blossoms was special. Spring is just around the corner.

So good to hear from you Mary. Know that everyone on this board has you in their thoughts and prayers. You were truly blessed to have those years together with all your family. Hope your brother is safe driving from New Jersey. That is some nast weather they're having up there.

Weather here has kept us offline for awhile so am trying to catch up.

So sorry for your loss Mary. Prayers for you and your family for peace and comfort.

I've not done well being coped up in this place. I suffer from lack of sunshine in the winter months and all this sub-zero temp/mega snow has not helped. I also need to start thinking about some cleaning. Been here 9 months and still have things boxed up. Sad isn't that? I just have no place to put things. So I will be sorting, giving away or selling things very soon. Just hate to have to do all of that again.

Well stay warm, eat well and be healthy.

I am thankful for all of you & the support of so many family & friends. We were a family of 9 children, losing one sister at the age of 16 many years ago leaving 8 of us till now. I am thankful for that many years that we have had together. One of my brothers lives in New Jersey & left from there early this morning to drive down to LA for the funeral so we are praying for his safety as he travels with this weather. Visitation tomorrow evening with services Wed @ 11.

Trying to get a hold of the stress eating know that it will not change the way I feel. Today I am trying to clean house to keep busy, Just stopped to take a break & sign in.

The church sermon today was on taking care of our health and supporting each other. I think that is what we are trying to do here on SP.

Starting Spring cleaning this afternoon and I am exhausted. The downstairs is pretty clean and now to face the upstairs which will have to wait for another day.

Today my gratitude focus is that we live in a free country. Just met a young woman who fled with her family home in Kenya to be free of the tyranny and fear.

Thank you ALL for your thought, prayers & kind words. I needed them today more than you could have known at the time you posted them. I am grateful for each day that we are allowed to breath & yes, even to complain. I'm grateful for tears that help ease stress & cleans the soul. I'm especially thankful today for my very large family. Many of whom gathered at my brother's home with his wife and children as he drew his last breaths here on earth.

Mary, we are all thinking of you and praying for you and your family. So sorry!

I agree with the rest of you about the "being grateful" instead of complaining. Maybe we could incorporate that in our little blogs - each day say one thing we are grateful for. It's also quite fine to share life's troubles. I remember seeing a poster many years ago that said something to the effect of: If you share your troubles they are cut in half, if you share your blessings they are multiplied.

Today I'm grateful for my wonderful family and my supportive friends on Spark.

I'm off to do my Warrior Yoga program now and then its grandkid time again.

Up 3 lbs this week. Been doing allot of stress eating & too much sodium so some of it is swelling according to the look of my ankles.

Sorry I've not been posting much lately. Looks like my brother is in his last days & I'm trying to spend more time there as support for his family.

Bernie, great advice and it sounds like the wisdom from Mary. I used to wear a purple bracelet from the "A Complaint Free World" and every time I was complaining either out loud or in my head, I would switch the wrist I was wearing it on. Some days, that was a workout in itself; and if I was bad about it I'd give it a snap to remind me that there are a LOT of other folks that have it much worse than I do. It helped, but I think I need to start using it again and practice and do like you said...be grateful, as I write every day in my journal of things I'm grateful for during the day.

Today my weight was 204.9#'s. A drop from last week I'll gratefully accept. Got in 45 minutes of cardio and 65+ minutes of upper body work today. So grateful again, to be back in the gym.

Hi all,
Weigh in this morning I was up 1 pound. I ate a lot of salt yesterday so hope when i weigh in tomorrow morning I will at least be the same as i was last week. I'm drinking a lot of water to try to help the situation.

I'm hoping to finish my Grinch quilt today which will go into the closet until Christmas. I will be so happy to have one Christmas gift made and tucked away. My grandson will be almost 2 when he receives it I put green grinch fur on the back. It is too cute.

Sorry for the struggles that some of you are going through. I have found that this month while following I think it was Mary's advice to not complain it has become very apparent that I do more than I every thought. So when I have felt like complaining this month I have been trying to replace it with feeling gratitude for all I have, for all the beauty that surrounds me, etc. It has really helped get my spirits up and giving me a different focus each day.

Weight stayed the same for another week. It seems I am stuck at 141. I think we all need some nice spring sunshine so we can get outside more.

Margaret, I agree - It's time to look after ourselves.

Dwayne, take it easy at the gym for a few days. If you overdo it it will only set you back. :-)

Mary, I hope you feel like your old upbeat self soon.

Char - you seem to have your hands full these days. It's good to hear that your son's surgery went well and we will pray that he recovers quickly. Take care of yourself too.

Have a great weekend everyone! Mine will be filled with grandkids again starting in about an hour with the first lot, then tomorrow the other two, and also celebrating my son in law's birthday this weekend. It's all good!

Weigh in Friday. I've come to the conclusion that I have to take care of myself more and not worry about everyone else. I've been on a none stop course of taking care of grandchildren and it has to stop as the only one who is losing is me and not in the good way. I'm up 2 pounds again this week. Running crazy for grand kids who should by their ages be able to take care of them selves.

Sorry ranting again. But I will take the time for me starting today.

Very busy week. Son had surgery monday 4 hours!! IT went very well and praying for good results this time around. He went to another surgeon and this one has hopes for a much better outcome. Son says things feel better already!!

Said goodby to a friend, boy at our age seems we lose many in our lives. Been feeling frustrated with this weather and flu. Pretty sure the flu has left our house but this weather is terrible. Flying snow again today.

Tax season is in full swing and everyone in a rush to get theirs done. Some not happy as they are losing part of refunds to the Obama care insurance they bought. Crazy if you ask me.

Well hubby wants breakfast, have great day and if you are in bad weather, be careful out there. Son hit a deer this morning. Son/Car/Deer all ok!!

1st day back in the gym. Got in 45 minutes of cardio and 50+ minutes of upper body work.
Did notice that I felt it when I tried to go back to weights I was at a week ago. So I didn't push as hard on weight as maintaining correct form.

Hope all of you are well and moving forward; getting your 10+ minutes in whenever and wherever you can. It's all good and adds up.

Good Morning All!

Dwayne nice to see you are feeling better and getting back to the gym soon.

This morning was an hour on the treadmill and a little weight training. Tomorrow its Warrior Yoga DVD. I'm really enjoying it and already feel more flexible.

Margaret, I agree the grandkids are a blessing and we love it when they drop by anytime. So fortunate to have them live only a 20 minute drive away. We haven't experienced the great-grandkids yet but sure hope to live long enough to see a few.

I have a day off from work today so will finish off a quilting project.

Thanks Margaret for the wishes...I'll be back in the gym tomorrow and grateful for that.
Wow, can't believe that...6 foot snow banks. Just wish we'd get some of that in the form of rain as I'm sure many of you are really tired of the snow.

Got in 90 minutes of exercise today so I think I'm in pretty good shape to re-enter the world.
