Good Morning All,

I am back. I returned late Tuesday night and was at work yesterday. It was very, very nice to have a vacation and see some of the amazing National Parks in Utah. A busy trip and we were driving a lot, but also very interesting. We don't have that kind of geography on the east coast. It was a great break and now I'm looking forward to getting back in the swing of things here.

I have enjoyed my step tracker. it really is fun to see how many steps i can do in a day. Sometimes not very many at all, but seeing my progress has been good. It's also a reminder to move away from my desk at work during the day, even if only for a few minutes. I don't often get to 10,000 steps except on the weekend, but that's ok. I do the best I can.

We finally have spring here in Maine. Our crab apple trees are blooming and the dandelions are out (I love them!) and the grass is growing. Heaven!

My best wishes to all of you for a good day.

Agnes

Hi all,
Looks like everyone had a great Memorial Day as we remember those who keep us free.

Teresa, I just started using my tracker....and I love it. Scares me how FEW steps I really do take and the amount of time it takes. Its a challenge to change the numbers upward, but I do enjoy it. I hope you will too.

Dwayne, hang in there. I am anxious to hear how many inches you have lost in the last year. Congrats on the number of steps you walk daily. I am trying to get up to 2,000..LOL The numbers will start coming down again.

Sounds like there were some really fun times to have been had for those who were able to go on vacation. The break is needed for each of us. Happy to have you home.

Well I have laundry to do and a Birthday Party to plan for my GD who will be 6 next Thursday. I can't hardly believe her first year of school is almost over. She is excited about summer vacation and going into the first grade. She can already read and can add the simple numbers. Her older sister (8) is a great teacher!!!

We are having a pizza party for about 15-20 of the kids from her class. I am planning games for them to keep 'em busy. Should be a lot of fun.

Well, gotta go, have a great day and I will check in later....maybe.

I havve just ordered the Spark Activity Tracker. I hope it is as good as everyone says it is. i'm excited to get more into this summer and my goals. My eating is getting easier to keep in line with my daily goals. Now to get stepping more!!

Today is a busy one. Will be doing work at a local pool with my youth group from church. Following we are having our end of year (we only meet during school year) party. Sad to see some of the kids leaving as they are graduating. One girl is planing on coming back as a leader, which is amazing.

Well off to get my day going. Got morning stuff done. Not a bad day so far.

Mary, Thanks for the reminder. I do that to myself, expect too much at times, not enough at other times. I'm made progress I know, but we all still LOVE to see the numbers come DOWN every week. Even though we know in our heart of hearts that's not always going to hapen. Again, thanks for the reminder.

Char, have you tried the Spark Activity Tracker? I got one less than a month ago and it's been such a surprise to me how many steps I get in doing nothing it seems. Going shopping with DW = 4,000 + steps; good cardio workout at the gym = 8,000 + steps; even just the little things around the house are 1,000 steps. I just wish I'd had this years ago when I did a lot of walking at work.

Margaret, thanks for your words of encouragement also. Yes I did measure shortly after I'd joined SparkPeople, so it will be a time for celebration when the 1 year / end of month measurment comes due.

Again, thanks to all of you for your support this past year...we've got many more years and hopefully not too many more pounds to go together. (Not sure if the english was right in that last sentence, but I hope you get the idea)

Off to the gym now.

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Had a wonderful weekend. Actually got in extra walking since I was at the campgrounds. Not sure what you are doing as a current challenge so will wait till friday and see what is going on. I still can't find a pedometer that works right for short walks. I miss the count or all the steps i take here in the apartment. Going to try attaching it to different areas and see what It does.

Weight wise i've been at 197 for what seems like forever. Getting back to tracking should help alot.

Weekend was full of grandkids, parades, cookouts and ceremonies. This is one of my favorite holidays. I love my country and all she stands for. Remembering those who gave all for her is an honor for me to do. Well a late start on this week but we will see how things go.

Happy Memorial Day to all. We have much to be thankful for & many to remember for the freedom that we have today. emoticon

Theresa, a half a pound is still a loss!

Dwayne, I agree with Margaret, you've worked hard & if you look at the track record even from the first recorded weight you posted here on this site on Oct 31st, you have gone from...224.2 to 197.2... that's 31 lbs in less than 9 months. Give yourself credit & a break because your body is trying to adjust. Ride out the plateau and keep up the workouts & the new way of eating. The rest will move along soon.

Agnes, your vacation sounds awesome. Glad you've had a great time. I believe you will have quiet an adjustment getting back to work this week but we do look forward to hearing from you more!

Well I need to be out of this chair. DH is out in the garden & I have clothes that are waiting to be washed. I have a few days left before I need to pack for vacation but there is work to be done yet. Have a blessed day all!

Good Morning Everyone,

I have been MIA because I've been on vacation. DH and I have been traveling around Utah and a little bit to Arizona and Nevada. Today is our last day and we will fly back to Maine tomorrow. I have been walking as much as possible, although there have been many long days in the car. We have been to Zion, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Natural Bridges Monument, and probably other places that I can't even remember now. I've always wanted to see these national parks and they are indeed gorgeous. One side effect of this trip is that there is no internet service in the national parks so I've been out of touch. I return home very late Tuesday and return to work on Wednesday. That will be a shock to my system. looking forward to catching up with all of you and getting back with the program. I have not weighed myself since I left home.

Best,
Agnes

Dwayne, one week short of a year that you have been a Sparks person. Now it's time to sit back and think where you were a year ago and how far that you have come. You have plenty to be proud about. You've been putting in all those hours at the gym and watching what you have eaten everyday. You've come a long way. By any chance did you measure yourself last year when you started this journey to becoming a healthier you? Because if you did get that tape measure out and measure again and get another surprise.

We all go through plateaus but there just that PLATEAUS. You'll start moving again soon give your body time to adjust to all the changes take it a day at a time and don't get frustrated about it . Put a smile on your face and think of the time that you had to get the smaller size pants. REMEMBER.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Happy Memorial Day Week-End To All You 48'ers,

Sorry Mary for not posting yesterday, as time just seemed to get away from me and I'm trying to shut down on the computer earlier in the evening to help me sleep, not have the ol' gray matter "thinking" too much. My weight was 197.2#'s for the week. I think that's down from the previous week, but very frustrated I've been in this zone for 5+ weeks now. Anyone have any ideas? My Spark Activity tracker shows an average 9,600 steps per day and I'm trying to get that over 10,000.
Oh well, I'll work through this as well.

I can't believe it's been 1 week short of 1 year that I've been a SparkPeople member. Time truly does fly when you're having fun.

I'm off to the gym shortly, hope all of you have a great week-end. Remember those fallen who gave us this time and what they've given us over the centuries...God Bless Our Troops!

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

I recorded my weight this morning (189.4 which is 2.2 lbs lower than last week!!)) but forgot to post it here. Sorry. It;s been a long day. Meeting this morning to work on preparations for Vacation Bible School, the lunch with SIL who is still having a very difficult time adjusting after my DB's death 3 months ago then tonight a wedding rehearsal for GS who DH is preforming the ceremony tomorrow evening.

Besides the weight loss, I am excited to say that the injection & Aquatic therapy has done wonders for my knee!

Margaret, emoticon on losing this week.

Hoping to see more reports tomorrow! Good night all!

Just had to jump in....had a great evening. We cooked hot dogs on a stick in the fire pit in the back yard. And of course we HAD to have Smores. Being altogether in the yard playing and eating was awesome. Went for a short walk with the girls just before dark. The fire was so pretty I did not want to come in yet even at 10pm, after dark.....

Wore my stepper today. 4,604 steps, 1.88 mile, burned 193 calories and walked for a whopping 53 minutes. At least I am moving. Gotta get past moving for less than an hour tho. It really is fun keeping track of all this.

Well, I am worn out so I think I will call it a day. It is almost 11pm.... Hope you all had a great day and will try to check in and see how everyone is doing tomorrow. Have a great night.

Hi all,

What a week....GD had her field day at school. Again won 4 ribbons, 2 first and 1 3rd and one for just participating. She is so proud.

Beautiful day here today. Sunny, about 71 degrees and just a little breezy. How wonderful. Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same and then much colder weather with rain for the weekend, including Monday. Darn it anyhow!!!

I wore my step counter for the first time today. Just for half a day tho, I kinda forgot I was gonna wear it.....I really have to step it up if I am going to reach 10,000 steps. Today I went 1,951 steps. Not too many but definitely a 'step' in the right direction.

Went to my cardio doctor today. Seems my heart likes to beat too fast for a long time, like 12-14 hours a whack. Rate goes from 140 to 165, which they say is a little too fast. They upped my meds to see if that will help. Hope so, don't want to add any more meds if I don't have to.

Had a not really good week and I am sure it is going to show up on the scales tomorrow. At least I have my stepper now and counting steps, and recording the number in a journal, and doing better at tracking I should be ok.

I do really well at breakfast and lunch with calories and tracking. Snacks aren't too much of a problem. But dinner is a disaster. I need to eat my dinner for lunch the next day so I can count it better and have an already prepared dinner for dinner. I just have a really hard time staying in control at dinner time. I just don't understand it. So I will buy me some frozen entrées and make a salad for dinner and that's all I will allow me to have. Should help. I sure hope so.

Loved reading all your posts. Everyone sounds like you are really busy. Hope to get some gardening done this weekend if the rain allows it. Sure love the color of the flowers. I want a whole bunch of them in the yard.

Well, its getting late and I think I will turn in early tonight. Put in 3 hours at school doing my volunteer work today. I am now at 60 hours and I did not even start at the beginning of the year.,

Have a great night and will see you at the scales....Nite.

Hugs,
Lynn

Hello everyone!

Margaret - I hope you eyes get better soon. It sounds terrible!
Mary - You are really kicking some butt with all the exercises you have been doing lately! Keep up the great work!

I've been doing my usual walking and a couple of times a week a circuit weight training DVD. I really miss my spark step counter now that it is broken. I really need to replace it with something as I do find it motivating to count steps.

We've had to start using the air conditioner as it is so hot and dry here.

Well, I better get some dinner on soon. I worked 7 hours at the office today, and I'm tired. Tomorrow is a dentist appointment. I had a filling replaced in January and a piece of it broke off. Very sharp edge to it and my tongue is very red and raw. I'll be happy to get that fixed up again.

Have a great evening everyone!
Hugs,
Theresa

Hi all. talk about a mixed day weather wise. I've gone from 5 degrees this am and buy noon it was close to 16 and now at about 5;30 it's closer to 30 again. Please will someone make up their minds. LOL

I sent an email to Agnes and she is on a well deserved vacation in UTAH hills. She doesn't have much internet service but she said she will check in with the group once she is back around the 28th of this month. SO I told her to enjoy her vacation and we are looking forward to hearing all about the vacation.

Good Morning 48'ers! Looks like it's going to be warmer today than it has been & we're sure feeling that Summer heat here already.

Margaret, I figured something was going on with you as you had not been posting lately. So sorry to hear about the eye problems. Girl, do take that of that!! Rest those eyes as much as you can & stop rubbing them! Sorry, the nurse in my just naturally comes out. LOL

Char, I'm so sorry I posted to you & called you Lynn in my post of last night. Got confused. Must be our age. emoticon I can't get down to do floor exercises either because I can't get back up with this knee. Have you tried some of the chair exercise videos? I've been doing some of those lately & although I can't do them exactly as they do, it is very helpful. Some of them even allow us to "Track the calories burned". I especially like the 6-Minute Hips, Glutes & Thighs Workout video. I find it very helpful for building strength in this knee. I hold onto a chair for most of it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/videos-detail.asp?video=84

Well I've had my coffee & need to get moving. Got a house to clean for GD's Graduation party this weekend after GS's wedding Saturday.

Missing our emoticons, Agnes, Bernie, Deana, Linda, Lynn, Dwayne, & Theresa. emoticon

Thanks Margaret, I will try the sock thing. Ofcourse that means I have to wear socks in the house lol. I don't wear socks or shoes unless I have too. Always hated anything on my feet. I will get this figured out until I can afford one of those watch type things. They are suppose to really be accurate.

Sorry you are having so much trouble with the eyes. I know how horrid that can be as i get that some days when I am around alot of fresh mowed grass. Hate itchy eyes. Take care.

I am so trying to get serious about this weight issue this time. Walking is my first line of exercise and some stretching type things. Not sure about trying floor type things as it's hard to get up with these old knees. I wish I could go back to the Y as there I was doing so good with the water stuff. Just got too expensive.

I have really started to watch my food intake, portion sizes etc. We get alot of our food from a delivery system and it is nice portion sizes. I have to enter the foods into the system so I got a nutrition list from them. It takes some time but once I get through most of them they will be easy to track. Losing weight at my age is just not easy. But I have small goals that I want to reach each week. This week it's getting into routine of tracking!!!

Mary, you are on a roll girl emoticon Aqua courses are going to help you in achieving better knee movement. I think it's the best exercise you can do.

Char, where are you wearing your pedometer ? Sometimes that makes a difference. Have you tried wearing it on the cuff of your sock or on your shoe?

I'm on the side lines in the exercise department. I've come down with a very bad eye infection that has got me resting more then anything. I have had very itchy eyes for about 2 weeks but I guess my rubbing them didn't do much good. Monday morning I woke up with my eyes stuck together and as I sat up everything came pouring out. A trip to the clinic had me on antibiotic cream for the eyes . I'm very sensitive to the sun at the moment as I found out yesterday . I had to take my friend to the hospital for her physotherpy . My eyes were itching so badly when I got home I was going crazy. One good thing in all this is I'm going to bed a lot earlier. It seems the best place to be with my eyes closed.Hope to get back to doing my walking soon.

Hope everyone is having a great week. We had 33 degrees cel. on Tuesday it was beautiful . Then yesterday we were down to 9 degrees. Talk about crazy weather.

Have a good day everyone.

Hugs Margaret

Quiet here. I set some new nutritional goals monday. So far I am sticking to them and finding that I have to measure everything since my "view" of servings has gotten out of wack. I am going to try some new exercise things. Bad knees and right hip. So this could be interesting.

I do walk my dog about 3 times a day around the building. It is between 500 and 550 steps so that isn't much. I am going to try increasing those steps. My pedometer doesn't work here in the apartment as i don't take enought steps in one direction to start it. Frustrating as none of the steps I take here are counted. going to try to find a way to do that without having to count all the time.

Hope everyone has a grand day.

Started Aquatic Therapy this morning for my knee. Did a whole hour. Praying it will help. After that local lidocaine wore off last night I had a miserable night but today has been better. Trying to stay more active.

Drinking all my fluids, staying away from the diet soda & adding more fresh fruits & veggies. So far today I'm at the halfway mark of my calories for the day & have already added an afternoon snack that I have planned.

How is everyone else doing? How all are well. emoticon

Got my knee injected this morning & wow, what a relief...instantly! Hope & pray it lasts at least the 3 months as it should. Will make vacation much better if it stays this way.

Had lunch with DH after my dr vs & we ate at Jason's Deli. We love their salad bar & chose just the fresh stuff for better calorie count & nutrition.

So I'm really trying hard...my Totals for today...

Sure sounds like all are busy with the summer here. I've been so busy and things just seem never to get totally done. Got a few plants in but still have some to get into the ground. It just keeps raining and the area stays muddy. UGH

Got my sister out of a bad situation and temporaly living with mom. hope to get her into her own apartment very soon. Changing stuff and getting her SSI set up is a real process.

I have 2 grandkids granduating and all of that the next couple weeks. Then my youngest son decided at the spur of the moment to join a small group from our church that are going to the Ukraine in July. So it's fundraiser etc for that as well. Just busy busy.

I'm really starting to try to eat alot better. Lower in carbs and more fresh fruits/veggies. Some of those are really high in carbs. Staying Gluten Free has finally gotten easier as i've adapted my shopping. Got hubby on board with better eating as well

Got the trailer set up at the campgrounds and hubby moved there. I will be going back and forth as there are things here in town I must keep up on. Love the quiet times there and will be getting there as much as I can for sure.

Hope all are doing well. Weight has stayed the same so i must up my exercise as well as do better eating choices. Would love to be smaller by end of summer.

Blessings all.

Busy day today starting with GS's Pre-K Graduation then doctor visit for rx refill scripts followed with foot detox then turned in application to return to work with my previous little patient whom I worked with for 6 yrs. He now has Leukemia & misses me as I miss him. Family has asked me to return so I agreed to do so 2 or 3 days a week. Then spent the rest of the day with him & his family.

Got a good thunderstorm with pour-down the cooled off a bit.

Did well today except for the fact that the majority of my calories were with the evening meal.
Totals: 1205 cals 117 carbs 53 fats 64 proteins 9 fibers

Good morning....

It was a great weekend...got a lot of rain Sunday night but we needed it. Only bad thing is the temp. dropped way down. This morning it was so windy and the wind chill was 32 degrees. Haul out the winter coats again!!!

Elena was supposed to have field day at school today but it is too cold and windy so they are going to try for tomorrow. I am planning on going. Last year she got 3 ribbons.

Well, its lunch time so I better run.

Oh yea, for breakfast I had Yoplait yogurt, 1 sl light toast and coffee w/cream.

Later,
Lynn

Good Morning All,

It's been a cool weekend here, a little rain here and there but not much. We could use so much more.

Mary - our long weekend was Victoria Day, in honor of Queen Victoria's birthday. I'm back to tracking as well and the scale is already reflecting it despite having a big family dinner last evening.

My Spark step counter has broken down. I tried to put in a new battery and broke off the little tab that keeps it in. I'm thinking of getting a Fitbit instead of another Spark. I'm wondering if any of you have a Fitbit?

Have a great day today!
Theresa

Opps, its Saturday, not Friday. I was so busy yesterday getting ready for graduation party today I forgot to check-in with weight report.....I lost 3.5 lbs. of the weight I had gained so now am 4 lbs away from 'new weight loss'. Weight now is 207.5

Graduation was great. A guy came up on stage when a girl was walking off, he took her hand, walked back a little ways on the stage and got down on his knee and asked her to marry him...she said yes....it was really cute.
I did not think Mark's cap was gonna stay on his head....he was so proud, as he should be.....he has decided after he gets his masters degree he will go for his doctorate (spelling?) and be a college professor. I can see him doing that.....

Well, BBQ was awesome, had a great time and did not overindulge too much. Now, I am tired so am calling it an early night. DIL wants to do some yard work tomorrow after church. It is supposed to be a really warm day, around 80 I think.

So, I am off to sleep. Thank you for all the congrats for my son. I will pass them along. Have a great night.

Hugs,
Lynn

Theresa, praise God for chest pain BEFORE leaving for vacation & that he got it checked out. Otherwise it could have really ended badly & costly out of the country! Glad he's doing well.

Regarding your long weekend. Must be just in CA because we have no special holidays this week here in US. So what is your special occasion?

GD's graduation went well last night. Today it's been house cleaning day with washing & cleaning. Finally got someone here to give us an estimate on getting our termite damage done in the kitchen floor. Now to pick out my flooring & wait till June to get it taken care of.

Well my break is over so time to get supper ready. DH has been out cutting grass so I know he'll be hungry soon.

Hi All,

Weight yesterday was 145. I forgot to post it. I think that's the same as last week. It's been a hairy few days here. Hubby's brother was about to leave for a vacation with his wife to St. Martin's when he developed some chest pain. Got himself checked out and ended up in hospital for a triple bypass yesterday. Scary stuff but he's doing well.

Lynn - congrats on your son's graduation. Sounds like he's a very smart young man!

Have a great weekend everyone! Long weekend in Canada here. Not sure if the US has one this weekend or not but someone could clear that up for me.

Grandkids coming over soon so I have to get a few things done yet.

Hugs,
Theresa

Good Morning All,

Weight today was 196.8#'s; believe that's down some for the week. Grateful for that since it's been a lot of UP days it seems.

Getting some much needed rain yesterday and today. Seems like this is the weather we should have been getting from January to April, instead of May. Cold and wet.

Hope all of you are doing well and moving forward. Off to the gym now. Hopefully i'll have a chance to check in a bit later. No guarantees, just hope.

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Weigh in Friday Is here. I'm down 1 pound. It's not much but I'm happy with it. I've been walking close to my 5 miles each day but I haven't been hitting the 5 miles. I've been running around to hospital with a friend and taking another friend out to locate a special cover for her gazebo. Then of course I've been looking after GGS. By the time Friday comes around I'm feeling exhausted. But I enjoy it all it's keeping me busy.

Hope you all have a great weigh in.

Have a beautiful weekend , get out there and enjoy the weather even if it's hot it's ok just think of the long cold winter we had and you'll enjoy it more.

Hugs Margaret

Mary, your so right. My son dropped out of high school and went to work on construction. He had a bad accident and couldn't work anymore. The insurance said he had to go back to school to train in something else. I also knew he had it in him and when he started to put it to good use his marks were fantastic. He went on to do many wonderful things. At present he is a mediator in a high school. Since he has been working there the drop out rate is down to almost nothing. He's doing a great job in keeping the young ones on the straight and narrow.

Lynn you have every right to be so proud of your son.

Good luck everyone for weigh in Friday.

Dwayne, sometimes our children just have to learn things for themselves the hard way...like we did! LOL

We have a GD who will graduate tomorrow night from high school & hopefully go on to Jr College in the Fall. They grow up so fast! Have 3 nephews graduating tonight so we're hoping to attend that also.

Well where did the week go??? Tomorrow is already Weigh-in-Friday!

Have a blessed day ALL!

Hi All,

Lynn, I could feel your pride in your post...and it's well deserved. You have all the right in the world to be so proud of him. I'm experiencing the same thing with one of my sons and I know he has the smarts and abilities to do so many great things, he just won't give himself the credit. He's a bit older so that hampers him a bit, but he's seeing the error of his way...slowly, but surely.

Hope all of you are doing well and getting your workouts in, and with that I'm off to the gym for some cardio and upper body work today. See you all tomorrow for weigh-ins...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi all,

Well, its Thursday and thought I would drop in and say "hi".

Got the laundry done (for that day at least), the checkbook balanced (whew!!) and dinner was really good, on Tuesday.

It is still cool and rainy and cloudy. Supposed to warm up for a few days. Sure hope so. My son is graduating from college with a Bachelors Degree and is currently working on his Masters. I am so proud!! I can remember when I could not keep him in high school and he dropped out. Got his GED and had the highest grades on his final test. I knew he had it in him, just couldn't convince him of that. He loves learning, and does it very quickly. He wants to write a book. He has been told by his professor that he should write an academic book for college. What a compliment huh. We are planning a BBQ for a few friends to celebrate his success.

Well, its lunch time and I am hungry. Am having a tuna sandwich, a small salad and 2 slices of pineapple. Yummmm

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs,

Lynn

Good Afternoon All,

Well, it's "Hump Day" and these weeks just fly by. Pretty soon it's "WEIGH-IN FRIDAY". I'm working to see a loss this week, fingers and everything else crossed.

Got in my cardio and lower body work today so feeling good about that. Sounds like all of you are keeping more than busy...

Gotta go take a shower now, and we've got 2 dogs that need to go to the Vet's so I'm off.

Til next time,

Good morning all.

Can't believe its Tuesday already....went to a school band concert last night. My GS plays the Tuba. It was absolutely beautiful. Hard to believe some of the kids were only in the 7th grade. What a lot of talent.

Wanted to go for a walk yesterday but it is acting more like winter than spring. Really windy and its a cold wind. This morning it was 39 degrees. Does not sound like spring does it.....lol

Well laundry is calling me, the checkbook needs to be balanced (oh goody) and gotta get dinner in the crock pot so I better run for now.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and will check in later to catch up on posts.

Take care

Hello all! My Mother's Day started with church then a crawfish boil at DD & SIL's house then home for a short nap with plans to go see Woman in Gold which I wanted to see but didn't make it. Just had a quiet evening at home with DH. He bought me a Hydrangea plant which is in full bloom. Hoping to plant it in the yard. I've tried to grow these before but always lose them. Maybe this time will be different.

Margaret, your day sounds wonderful. Glad you had family time.

Theresa, Lots of yard work here too but DH does most of it. I did it all before we got married but he doesn't even let me ride on the mower now. LOL

Lynn, so glad you had a nice outing with you 2 sons! I know you enjoyed that as well as your do-nothing-day!

emoticon Char!! We emoticon So glad you got that computer revived! LOL

Well I've managed to do some banking, went to get my foot detox done, got caught up on check register, washed some clothes, & stacked the dishwasher then brought GS to his friend's house. Now that I've been able to check in & post I need to see about supper. Got left over roast but got to get veggies & rice done. Later!

Been MIA for way too long. My laptop was all messed up and no money to fix it. Finally got desperate and stripped it to rebuild myself. Low and behold it works!! Saved myself close to $200. Should have tried that weeks ago!!

I'm out of the loop, what is everyone doing? Mothers Day was great and I hope everyone else enjoyed it. Getting things going at the campgrounds and working to get back into some sort of diet/exercise program. Hate the past few weeks but everyday is a new one and this week is new.

Hope to catch up reading later. Have a good day everyone.

Happy Mothers day to all moms, hope you had a great day and got pampered silly.....

We had a bbq on Saturday for moms day cause it was supposed to rain on Sunday, which of course it did. Had a great time. Then today DH and my 2 sons took me to Applebees for a really nice dinner. Enjoyed the food and especially the company. Don't have my 2 sons together enough of the time and I really like it when they can get together.
I did nothing all day, except fix a little breakfast and a light lunch. Finished a book tho. Was nice to do nothing, now tomorrow I can catch up on all that did not get done today. Guess its true...there is no such thing as a 'free lunch'....lol

Well, its still early enough to start a new book so I guess I will go pick one out and get started on it. I hope you have a great night and will talk to you all on Monday.

Take care,
Lynn

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

I forgot to weigh in on Friday. It's been so busy here - as everyone else has been I know. Suddenly there is so much work to be done outside. I love every moment of it though.

Linda - so happy to hear that the tests went well. I've been thinking about you and wondering how things were.

Have a great evening everyone!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mother's out there. Hope you have a lovely day of being pampered. My day started yesterday at our son's house. He had us all there for a bar-b-q diner. All the children wee there. The 3 GGS all had runny eyes, runny noses and coughs. It was like a symphony . LOL. I even received a phone call from our GS who lives 12 hours away , with wishes for a happy Mother's day. Today should be more pampering. emoticon

I'll let you know later how that went.

Bernie, emoticon I know you can!

Thanks Dwayne! I also want to add my Happy Mother's Day wishes to all!

We had a wonderful day here. Took to cars in for the Youth Car Wash as they were doing to raise money for camp. Then attended 6 y.o. GD's 3rd dance recital. She did a good job & enjoys dance so much. She was excited for the flowers we brought to her. Well it's bedtime as I did not sleep well last night. Had to sleep sitting up due to indigestion & reflux. Hope to have a better night tonight.

Mary - so happy for you to have such a good weigh in! Nice way to begin the month.

I'm going to aim for a loss of 2 pounds this week. It I say it and post it all over my house perhaps the reminders can help me make it real.

Happy Mother's Day to all. I'm off to spend the night with my kids and brunch tomorrow.

Not a good week, the scales are up 2 lbs and I am really having a hard time emotionally. I have bi-polar disorder and sometimes things that are so minor really get me down. I don't do anything in a 'normal' range, it is either way to much (happy) or way to much sad (depression). The worst part is I don't have a clue how to control the moods. The meds help most of the time but sometimes its like I am not even taking any. Well, enough complaining about me.

I congrat those of you who have posted your weight losses for this week, even those who stayed the same. Good for you!!!

I shall get back on the wagon and really try to do better this next week. I did go for a walk today, went about 1/2 mile in 20 minutes. Not a long way, but further than I had been going. I am going to start counting my steps and keep a daily record so I can try to go a little further each day. 10,000 sounds like a million to me, but maybe it won't be so bad. Guess I will find out when I keep track the first day....

Weather has been on the cool side with lots of rain, thundershowers actually but its supposed to warm up a little next week.

Well, I am beat so I am off to any early bedtime tonight. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday and try to check in later.

Hugs,

Hello All You '48'ers,

For weigh-in Friday I'm at 197.7#'s. I think that's up a little from last week and not happy with that. I've been on a plateau for about 3 weeks now and getting frustrated, yet determined to overcome. I've been coming down with a cold and cough, but still working out, just taking it a bit easier. Actually feels like it's helping ?!?!?!?

Sorry I haven't posted as often as I'd like. Seems like the day just slips away and the next thing you know it's gone. And what did I accomplish? Anyway, I'm off to the gym, then getting ready for
oldest DS's Birthday today.

Hopefully (with fingers crossed) will post later...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Good morning everyone. Weigh in Friday is here. The scale has been in my favor all week except today. Today I weighed in the same as last week. I'll take it anyway.

We have been having some record breaking heat this past week. Yesterday it went up to 30 degrees Celsius. I went walking at 6;30 am and by 8;00am it was unbearable. I'm having trouble this year taking the heat. I hope I adapted to it soon. The kiddies don't seem to have any trouble with it though.

My Hubby got a new motto cycle this year with a side car. I was a little uneasy about getting into it but I've been out with him and I've been enjoying it as well. But I don't let him go to fast. LOL GGS loves it as well. he takes him around the yard with it and he laughs as he goes. When he wakes up from his nap in the afternoon he is asking for grandpa. When he sees him it's "grandpapa motto" and you can guess what that means. LOL

Hope you all have a great weigh in and a lovely day.

Hugs Margaret

emoticon emoticon news. I'm so happy for you. Now you get to get going in all the beautiful things you want to do worry free. Working on your garden will help give you the satisfaction of eating all those fresh vegetables.

Well it took us 2 days to do a job we use to do in a day. We washed all the outside of the house and then we tackled all the windows inside and out. Next we cleaned the solarium inside and out as well. That is also getting in my walking. But I haven't done my 10,000 steps so far this week . But I'm not to worried about it as I've been very active.

Hope you have a great day.

Hugs Margaret
