Hi Everyone,
I missed weigh in Friday, but here I am. I'm at 142 ---I've been at 141 - 143 for months I think, and I guess that's ok. It also means I have not been very serious about tracking/exercise. Now that the weather is better I'll be able to get out and do more walking. I had to work all day today for a board meeting at work. That does abbreviate the weekend.
Hope you are all doing well.
Best,
Agnes

Weight went up this week to 145. I need to figure out how to get back on track. I've been working out and walking every day but I guess that is only half the equation.

Have a great weekend!

emoticon guess I did too much of this last week, plus feeling down all week. Will do better next week. Walking yesterday was really good for me (even tho the muscles in my legs are screaming at me!!!) so I hope to make it a daily routine with DH.

Am up 1 lb.

Hope you all have a great weigh in. More later.

Hugs,
Lynn

Hello All You '48'ers,

Well, for weigh-in Friday I'm at 197.4#'s. I believe that's up a little from last Friday and I looked at my report on Spark and I'm "on a plateau" and seem to have been there for about 2 weeks. Going to look harder into what I eat, how much I'm staying active and work on getting this down. I'm falling behind on my long term goal, which doesn't please me, but I know I can turn it around...just have to figure out if I'm doing something wrong.

Margaret, if I inspire or "push" or do anything with my postings then I'm so grateful and happy. I feel so lucky God gives me the strength to do these workouts and share them with all of you.

Hope all of you are getting ready for a great week-end. Going to visit DF-I-L for his birthday Saturday, as he's "all booked up" for the actual day Sunday...SO LOL!

Will check back in with my workout later...off to the gym now.

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi everyone, weigh in Friday is here. I weighed in at 233 pounds. That brings me back to where I was before my brother passed.

One of my friends is my walking buddy. She is a retired registered nurse . We got to talking and she came out with a diet to add more protein in our diet. So I gave it a try and that along with the walking is why I'm down 3 pounds. At the beginning of the week I was going the wrong way on the scale so I'm happy with the scale this morning.

Hope you all have a great weigh in this morning.

Dwayne, thanks you for posting all your gym work outs. I know I can't follow in your footsteps but you gave me the push I needed to get back to my walking. Thanks again.

Hugs Margaret

Just checking in after a very long & tiring day but spent it with friends & had a great time. Got back into town & SIL called to invite us over for a crawfish boil. Didn't over do it so hopefully the scale will not be too upset with me. LOL

Hi everyone,
What a beautiful day. Just a little on the chilly side but the sun made up for that. And warmer weather is on the way for the next few days, yeah!!!

The child came out in me this morning and for breakfast I ate a bowl of Fruit Loops and 1/2 cup skim milk. 150 cal. But for snack I had a banana and cup of coffee with half and half.

Was kinda down today so went for a walk after dinner. Went .54 miles in 30 min at a whopping 1.1 mph. I wasn't out for a power walk just a chance to clear my head a little. Unfortunately nothing is different and I don't expect it to be anytime soon.

Well I am tuckered out after that walk so I think I will hit the shower and go to bed early.

Tomorrow is weigh-in day. Not sure I am looking forward to it.....we shall see.

Hope you all have a great night and will see you in the morning around the scales....

Hugs,
Lynn

Margaret - Congrats on getting back to your walking program. You are doing fantastic!! Keep up the good work.

Breakfast today was poached egg on toast, an orange, coffee with milk. Had a few cheese and crackers with raw veggies for lunch.
Exercise today was a long walk with DH. He's doing fantastic after his surgery and its hard to get him to take it easy which is a good thing I guess. Not quite 10,000 steps on my spark yet but probably will by the time today is over.

Have a great evening everyone and good luck at tomorrow's weigh in.

Hi all, I 've been working on getting my walking back up to par. I finally made it yesterday. I clocked in 11,412 steps. Today so far I'm up to 12,390. My day is not finished yet but I'm pleased about the progress. I use to walk the dog everyday for up to 5.6 miles a day. That all came to an end when one morning we were attacked by a loose dog. So now I walk with friends and no pets. My dog loves to run in the large back yard .

Tomorrow is weigh in Friday. Hope everyone has a great weigh in.

Hello Everyone,

Sounds like everyone is keeping busy and out of trouble. Hope all of you are getting your exercise in, and it sounds like with the cleaning and watching grandchildren that you are

I got in some cardio and lower body work today. I'm cutting back a bit because yesterday when I left the gym I realized I'd been there 3+ hours. Just too much, I hate to admit to that, but I've got other things to do...and "Honey-Do" List is at the top. Besides, as my DW often reminds me "You're Not As Young As You Used To Be..." said with lots of love I'm sure...

Going shopping for DFIL's B'day gift shortly. We'll be going to see him Saturday, as he's "All booked up" for his birthday on Friday.

Well, I'm off...til next time...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Mary if falling asleep like that it's because your body is telling you that you need it. So if you feel your eyes closing have a cat nap and you'll feel a lot better. I wouldn't be surprise if it's not the weather that plays a big part in it as well. With changing seasons it does play on us.

Hope you have a great night sleep.

Hello everyone! Hope all are having a great day! We're getting some really nice sunny but COOL days here. Probably our last taste of it before the summer heat sets in.

Doing laundry today & trying to stay awake when I sit down. Yesterday when I got home I sat in the recliner & went right off to sleep. Slept well last night but still wanting more.

Mary, I enjoyed seeing the family reunion quilts. You are so lucky to have won one of them. All the quilts I have made always seem to take me a lot more time than I had thought they would. When I finish one it is truly a work of love for someone and I so enjoy knowing they will cherish it like you do yours.

Spent the day with my 22 month old grandson. It has been awhile since I have watched him and I am always amazed at the changes in him. He is so very active that I certainly got my workout today.

Tomorrow is house cleaning and I always get a workout with that as well. Is it just me that it seems to get harder and harder to get it all done? It doesn't stay clean long even with just me and my DH at home.

Have a great evening.

Margaret, good to hear that you are home again. Get some rest!

Bernie, I'll post a picture on my page of the family quilt (my dad's side) my cousin made for the family reunion this past Oct that I WON. My cousin's wife also made one of my mother's side of the family which was awesome!

We have been getting some really bad weather here. Saturday we hit it on the road & this morning it woke me up so I canceled my plans for today. Wasn't about to get on the road. Still breexy this afternoon nut the bad stuff has moved east.

Good morning everyone. I just want to thank you all for your prayers, flowers and thoughts I appreciate very much. We got home after 4 yesterday afternoon I was amazed at how drained I was. Thank goodness Hubby was the one driving as I would never have made it. No sooner we were on our way home when I had fallen asleep. I woke up after 2 1/2 hours later to realise we only had another 1 1/2 hours to go before getting home. I have come to the conclusion that it's not the most restful sleep emoticon

Thanks again everyone.

Lynn, that is so nice of you to do for your DIL. I need someone to come clean at this place. There is dust everywhere I look. emoticon

Instead of cleaning I went to a nice quilting event today. The speaker was Pam Holland, an Australian quilter who is known all over the world. She is more of an artist and her quilts are worth a fortune. If you are interested you can google her and she some of her amazing art.

We are getting a much needed rain. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it is going to be very much.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Hi all,

Margaret, so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. Thank God for the good memories huh....

I forget yesterday was Friday. I had so much to do it just slipped my mind. I think I like it that way. I hit the scales this morning and I had gained 3.5 lbs. I really am not sure how, other than eating to much and not moving enough...(really).

DIL is out to a conference today and we are all doing the housework, even the grandkids to surprise her when she gets home. She will feel refreshed but also tired.

Hope the pain from the tetanus shot feels better soon. Have you tried putting ice on it???

Dwayne, you are such a joy....love to read your posts, they are fun and uplifting.

Better run, its time to start the cleaning.

Have a great weekend.

Hugs,
Lynn

Good Evening everyone!

Margaret - so sorry to hear that you lost your brother. Our thoughts and prayers with you all.

I guess I thought yesterday was Friday as I posted my weight gain. This morning I was almost a pound lighter than yesterday so I'm happy about that.

Dwayne - it's been raining off and on day and night here for a few days now. It was much needed but I think its about enough now so it can change direction and head your way anytime now and it would be fine with me.

Have a good weekend everyone.
Hugs,
Theresa

Good Morning, Well I managed to lose three pounds this past week. Thanks for the good wishes for my up coming tests, and I did get a giggle out of Dwaynes post about the scope. ,,, So now I can adjust my ticker to lighter me. 173
Margaret, So sorry to hear of your loss. It will be hard to take for awhile, but please look after yourself too.
As for the weather here , today it looks like we might get some sun as its trying to clear up. Yesterday , between rain and wind we had hail. Could not believe it.
I am feeling better now, but still have my coughing fits at night. Inhalors are doing the trick but the pollen in the air is so bad.
Today I am supposed to be going to the ladies lunch with the alumni group, but will see. Depends on whether or not I can leave DH alone. He really has been having problems with his breathing, even with having the oxygen on most of the day. He sees specialist on Monday...
Got to go dog walking.
Cheers, Linda

Margaret, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know the pain will ease in time, but right now it's hard to imagine. You're right that he's gone to a better place and be grateful for all the times you remember him with love.

Weight today was 197.2#'s; a bit of a gain, but I'll work it off.

Hope all of you have a great week-end and again Margaret, you'll be in my prayers...

Weigh-in Friday today but my numbers even though I've worked at it are up 1 lb this week.

Margaret, my heartfelt sympathy & prayers to you & your family in the loss of your brother. Having lost my brother less than 3 months ago, I do understand the effects & emotions that go along with that loss. Stand strong Spark Friend & know that his suffering has ended & that you are in our prayers.

Bernie, hope that injection site feels better soon!

Agnes, at least the scale is stable with you. That is not a totally bad thing.

Dwayne, hope more rain will follow soon! We've been over loaded with it here but I know God has a reason for sending it. We would just like to be able to walk through our yard & cut the grass!

Theresa, hope the scale is nicer to you today. Hang in there!

Lynn, that looks like a nice healthy breakfast!

My breakfast this morning was
Quaker Apple Cranberry Almond Instant Oatmeal, 1 serving 130
Almond Breeze Almond Milk, Unsweetened Vanilla, 6 oz 23
Splenda No Calorie Sweetener, 1 tsp 0
Tasimo Cappicino, 1 serving ⊗ 60
BREAKFAST TOTALS: 213 cal 36 carbs 7 fats 10 protein 4 fiber

Dear Margaret, My most sincere sympathy on the loss of your brother. I'm so sorry.

All, I'm at 141.5, which is about the same weight I've been for many weeks. I really must take some time to decide on my goals and a plan of action and stick to it.

best,

Hello everyone, it's been a long and sad week for me. My oldest brother passed away on Wednesday. He was in and out of hospital but on Monday he returned to hospital and he gave up the fight on Wednesday. I know he is in a better place but it doesn't ease the pain for the ones he has left behind.

Needless to say eating has been off the charts and I'm not proud of what I have done but sometimes it's stronger then you.

Hopefully it will be better this week. I was up 3 pounds so not a very good month for me.

Hope you all have a great weigh in.

I'm off to the funeral latter today.

How's everyone doing today? Would you believe we actually got some of that wet stuff falling out of the sky here last night, early this AM. Of course it was barely enough to get the streets damp. I keep praying we'll get more.

Margaret, glad I could bring a smile to you...that brightens my day! I'm like all of you and eat eggs on a pretty frequent basis. Just working on getting cholesterol back in line. It had been good, then it got bad, then it was good...Kind of feel like a yo-yo and getting really tired of blood tests.

Got in cardio and lower body work today; calorie count so far today is: 745 calories - 30g carbs - 35g fat - 156g protein and 14g fiber. Bit too much protein so far; been muching on turkey breast slices from CostCo...so tasty.

Hope everyone is getting their workouts in.

Bernie, hope you're feeling better there Partner. I had a shot for shingles a couple years ago and my arm was sore for about 3 days. Couldn't believe it and I'd never had anything like that happen before.or since.

Anyway, will be checking back in tomorrow for Weigh-In Day!

Til then...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

I'm up by 2 1/2 lbs today. Not a happy camper but I will do better.

Bernie I hope you feel better from the tetanus shot soon. I've heard that they can be painful.

Take care everyone,

Just dropping in to say hello. Don't want to be MIA too long.

My scale went crazy the other day and wouldn't weigh anything and then I got on it this morning and it worked fine. I was down so that was real fine. I guess I better pop it open and see what kind of batteries I need to get for it. It was probably trying to tell me it will be needing new ones soon.

Can't sleep as I am having a reaction to a tetanus shot and it really hurts. The good thing is it will only last a few days - I think.

Hope you are all enjoying a restful night of sleep.

Grilled chicken breast with grilled veggies...yummy meal shared with friends today for lunch. Supper was a PB/fig sandwich & cup of 2% milk. Been a long day & got to be up early in the a.m. so heading off to bed. Since I started taking the melatonin I do sleep so much better & usually get to bed at a decent hour.

BTW Scale DID have a battery & now has a new one. Weighed this a.m. & saw 188.4 so I'm heading in the right direction.

Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks for all the nice birthday wishes. Our son made us a very nice birthday dinner on Friday.

Breakfast today was bran flakes cereal with water. Yogurt. Coffee with milk. One orange.
Exercise this morning was a 45 minute circuit workout and 30 minutes on the treadmill. Will be running around this afternoon taking DH to his appointments so will get some more walking in then.

Dwayne - loved your post. About the cholesterol and eggs, I haven't heard that the government hasn't done testing but a week or so ago we did watch a little blurb at the end of the evening news about fat and cholesterol. In a nutshell it said: "research" has now shown that over the past years since low fat everything has been the "in" thing, people have continued to gain weight and it hasn't done much for heart disease. Now they say that not enough cholesterol is one of the reasons that Alzheimers is on the rise because our brains need cholesterol to function properly. The upshot of this bit of research apparently was everything in moderation and that sugar is a bigger menace than fat.

I'm like you Margaret - I eat eggs!

It's a beautiful day here today, blue skies and sunshine!
Hugs
Theresa

emoticon emoticon emoticon Dwayne. Your post made me laugh so much I had tears in my eyes. I think I`ll try losing this e-mail so I can lose some weight.

I have never heard about just doctors making these statements about salt or cholesterol but it would be interesting to find out. It`s probably the same as the eggs good or bad for you. The way I figure it in the olden days when you ate what you had and worked the fields eggs were on the menu quite often. So I eat them. I was always told that if you take to many vitamins you would eliminate them so it is probably the same for just about everything else. (I hope). LOL

Nice to see your long post. Keep up the good work.

Hugs Margaret

Hi All,

Well, how's the saying go..."the best laid plans of mice and men...". As you can tell, I didn't make it here yesterday and don't know where the day went? Honey-Do had a little to do with it, but not much. I did make it to the gym, also made the gym today. Oh well, this is how it goes sometimes.

Mary, if your scale does have a battery that's usually the problem. I did have one that even with a new battery it was reading all over the place, so I got a new one from CostCo. It's a WeightWatchers brand (not an endorsement, LOL). It's been pretty reliable so far. it was a Christmas gift I had DW buy for me ahead of time. I've got it downstairs and a Taylor brand upstairs. I weigh on each one and divide to get a weight. So far it's working for me. I know some people will say I'm going a bit far, but this journey has been a struggle and I REFUSE TO SUBMIT! I will reach my goal.

Workout for me today was 50 minutes of cardio and 55+ minutes of lower body work. Calories for yesterday were: 1411 cal. 74g fat; 92g carbs (too high) 132g protein and 31g fiber.

Theresa, a very belated birthday wish for you. Hope your day was as excellent as you are.

Margaret and Linda, thanks for the warm WOOHOO's. Linda, I hope your scope days will soon be behind you (pun not intended, it just happened) and you're 100% back at it. Just lay off the
carbs as much as you can. I'm finding out that it's a bit of what my weight problem has been and I'm trying to limit them as much as possible. Keeping the fat down along with the carbs can be a real tough go.

Has anyone heard of recent reports that the U.S. Government never did any studies on the effects of sodium on people and it was some Dr.'s that determined the 2300 mg level for us? I
thought it was interesting since at first eggs were good, then they were bad, then they were good then they were bad, now they're good again. And cholesterol was something else that had been noted as not really any "scientific research" had been done. Just some peoples best guess. Just wondering if anyone has heard...

All here in Southern California is still dry...all I can say and it's not going to be pretty this summer.

Anyway, hope all of you have a great finish to your week-end. Keep moving forward 48'ers....til next time.

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Ps: Whew! Glad to see I didn't "LOSE" this email. If the pounds were as easy to lose as emails we'd all be thin...take care gang...

Margaret, will check for battery in scale. I have no idea if there's one or not.

Linda, sure hope all tests come back with good report!

Lynn, Glad to hear you're having nice weather. I know sooner or later our rain will stop. Feels like we're water logged here. As far as the carbs, I have trouble getting mine down. It's always too high for me but within the normal range according to our nutrition page.

All this rain is really playing havoc with me knees. Have appt with my rheumatologist Tuesday. Between the Lupus & Arthritis, it's been rough lately but still trying to move as much as I can.
Here's my numbers for the day.

Hello all,

Congrats Dwayne on being a Onederlander....I am almost right behind you. I too am excited about reaching that milestone. It has been since 1982 that I weighed under 200 lbs.

Belated happy birthday to our birthday girl. Hope you had a great day. Sorry wishes are belated....

Hope all of you have a great weekend. We are planning a BBQ cause it is such a beautiful day and its supposed to cool off some for a few days next week. But warm weather is coming, all the time, and I can hardly wait.

By the way, I have a question maybe you all can help me with....my carbs have been SO high for the last few weeks actually. The calories stay pretty good but the carbs run 60 or more....HELP....any ideas..????? Thanks

Have a good one,
Lynn

Hi, I am having a hard time getting back on track. I can't stop eating carbs again. I am under stress again as I have two upcoming scopes to be done early May. Cancer dr. checking again to make sure nothing else has started, The pancreas area still seems to be ok and not giving me problems. Will be glad when colonostopy and esoghogus scopes are done with. Getting older is not fun at times.
I am up two more ugly pounds. The doctors are saying this is good news though. If I was losing big time again they would be more worried..
Dwayne, Glad to see that Onederland has you back with them again.
Mary, Hope that you get some relief from your knee pain soon.
Theresa, Sorry , I missed your birthday. Happy belated birthday.
Well best go and fix my weight ticker once again. Take care everyone and have a good week.

My emoticon is driving me emoticon this morning. It's several years old & I've noticed it giving me some really variations lately. This morning I went from 197.2 to 190.4. Why didn't I just settle on the first try? emoticon Well I did some of my cleaning & went back for more torture & settled on 198.4. Think I need to throw it in the trash.

Looks like most everyone posting today has lost a lb or two. emoticon

Weigh in today emoticon one pound. emoticon

I know several of us have posted over time that we type a post or an email and for some reason it disappears. I learned something new that I thought I would share with you. When that happens if you click on your right mouse key and click on undo your message "reappears". I hope that it will work for you as it surely helps me when the computer does things like that and I don't know how to fix it.

Happy weigh-in day!

Good morning all,

Weigh in was not too bad for me....lost 2.5 lbs, the 2 I gained last week plus 1/2 lb. Am at 203.5...getting closer and closer the Onederland....hopefully in 2 weeks.

Our weather has been great, the upper 60's and even the low 70's...Is supposed to drop down to the 50's again in a few days but is only supposed to last a couple of days. One can only hope so.
Have been walking a little bit, but need to add more time outside. Will go for a walk today again, it is nice and sunny outside. I got a knee brace so it doesn't hurt to walk. Feels really good to not have knee pain all the time. Mary, my prayers are with you that you will find relief from the knee pain. I can surely feel for you.

Sounds like everyone has had a very busy week. I have not posted all week and I cannot believe it has been that long. Two days of volunteering at the granddaughters school wears me out and I have a hard time even doing my housework,,,just ask my hubby...lol

I ate for breakfast:
1/4 c egg beaters...1 small banana...1 c V8 juice...1 slice Sara Lee Toast...1 oz ham Total: 246 cal - 39 carb...3 fat and 18 protein

Well, all this talking about food has made me hungary for lunch, and it is time so I better run for now. Hubby thinks he is starving....lol

Hope you all have a great day. Will check in later.

Hugs,
Lynn

Breakfast was a bowl of Instant Quaker Oats with apples & cranberries & about 2 tbsp of Greek yogurt plus a cup of coffee. Will get cals later. Right now I'm off to do my first detox foot bath treatment. DD has been doing it & it has helped her in many ways. Hoping for some relief of knee discomforts? We'll see.

Woke up to the smell of DH cooking banana pancakes. I couldn't resist but I ate a lot of veggies the rest of the day so should be okay.

It is suppose to be colder here the next 2 days and windy. We so could use some rain.

Mary, I hope your plan of action will relieve your knee pain. I know one of the main reasons I am trying to lose weight is for physical pain relief. What I have lost has helped me a lot so it can only continue to get better I hope. Good luck!

Hi there,

Our snow is still with us, but it is melting and it is raining today so that should help. Still, the weather is better and we are able to be outside now without so many layers of clothes. It feels great. I forget what I've posted, but my current goal is to get up to an average of 10,000 steps a day. that's a lot for me, especially since I sit a lot at work and this winter has not been a very active one for me.

Hope you are all doing well. Margaret, your GGS sounds like a real cutie.

Best,
Agnes

Hi everyone, I had a very busy day yesterday. I was up and out at 6;30 to go and take a friend to the hospital for an appointment. I got back home to see that GGS had arrived and so it was a day of running after him. Thank goodness we had a super day weather wise. It was in the 20 and we stayed outside most of the day . He walked with me to the store which is about a gran total of 5 city blocks there and back . When we got home again he helped hubby rake the grass. That was funny. to watch. Hubby was getting a little frustrated as what he would scrape into a pile the little one would scrape it all over again. I finally had to show him how to pick it up so that helped a bit. I finally had an hour rest when he went down for his nap. I was in bed at 8 last night. LOL

Mary, I sure hope the pain eases up for you, it can sure distract you. It's not very pleasant to be in continual pain. sure hope the exercise helps you.

We have no more snow left. and I can see some flowers sprouting . I can't believe how fast the snow went this year. The only place there is some is in the shaded spots in the back yard. I hope it's going fast for you to Agnes it sure picks up the spirits .

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret.

Good Afternoon!

Breakfast was bran cereal with milk, an orange, and coffee.

Mary I hope you find some relief for that knee. I know you are chomping at the bit to get going but pain is a real deterrent.

Linda, nice to hear you are starting to feel better again.

Yesterday I did a workout CD called "No More Trouble Zones" that I have not done in awhile. Today I pay with very sore glutes! I guess that tells me what I should be doing eh? Today's exercise was 45 minutes on the elliptical trainer. I'm wanting to do some sewing this afternoon so told myself I had to get the exercise out of the way first because I know once I get to my craft room I will never exercise today.

It's cold and windy here today, feels more like winter than spring.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone!
Hugs,
Theresa

Thank you Agnes. I know we all fail to follow through at times but persistence pays off eventually. emoticon

Brunch this morning was a 1 egg omelet with onions & bell peppers, a little cheese & ham on Joseph's Flax Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Pita Bread with a tsp of salsa, unsweetened almond Breeze & of course my decaf coffee with half & half. 300 cal. Did my leg exercises before getting out of bed this morning & will do another set this afternoon. Got to get this knee in better shape & hopefully reduce the pain.

Good Monday Morning All, I ate way way too much this weekend and I'm not pleased about it at all. However, I will not let this derail me. Today I start anew. This morning's breakfast: english muffin, boiled egg, clemintine (240 calories).

May, I'm very proud of you for figuring out a plan of action. I know you can do it. One moment at a time, one day at a time.

Best,
Agnes

Bernie, so nice to see you posting again. Always enjoy reading them.

I've been a little more discouraged very time I get on the scale it seems to be increasing. I know I've been eating too much of the wrong things and with the knee pain, I have or had given up on exercises. Well tonight I have been reading more articles on how to correct both of those issues and I am determined to work harder at it. I did read up on some of the options to total knee surgery & have decided to see my doctor again & request PT to get me started on the correct exercises for me & possible injection to add lubricant gel type to cushion this knee joint if my insurance will ok it.

I know that the extra weight is adding to the pain so I'm more determined than ever to correct that even if it creates pain at first. I will start slow & do it regardless. I've done it before & know that I can do it again.

Good night all!

Mary

Here I am again. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.

I'm having a pretty good day. Yesterday tracking I went way over in calories and today so far I'm under so I hope the 2 days balance out.

Bought a new little sewing machine to take to classes and retreats. It only weighs 13 pounds so I'm going to go check it out and sew if it sews well enough. Maybe it will be a good one to teach my grandkids to sew on?

Have a good rest of the evening,
Bernie

Hi all,
Totally having trouble getting on SP daily and totally forgot to weigh yesterday. I weighed today and lost 1 pound. I need to go edit my weight ticker.

Loved the cartoon. Wishing everyone a good week and that next week's weigh in will be a good one for each ad everyone of us.

I did try to answer ZoomZoom's question about what kind of quilts I make and SP was down. The answer is all over the place. I make charity quilts for tornado victims, Gold Star mom quilts for mother's who have lost a child in service, Project Linus quilts for kids, quilts for my family and eye pillows for the TLC unit at the hospital. So that's why I don't have but a couple in my possession. Right now I am working on one for my guest room bed. It is slow going on that one as I have about 3 or 4 projects going at the same time. It keeps me out of trouble and when I am at the sewing machine time flies and I forget about food - mostly. lol Hope you come back to post with us again.

Hi All,
My weight was up yesterday to 144. But today is a new day and although it's cloudy and windy, the temperature is in the 40s. for us this is very warm and welcome. I went out for two short walks and looking forward to another one this afternoon. I hope to get back to walking more now that the weather may be starting to turn better. 10,000 steps a day seems almost impossible now, but that is my goal.

Best,
Agnes

Hi, Thanks for all the well wishes. I do actually feel a little better today. Still have the cough but not as bad. I am up l.5 pounds. Guess it is all the fluid I am drinking, or could it be the chocoolate chip cookies that I made yesterday,,, Now at 174
Dwayne, Don't let the scales worry you too much. I know you will get yourself back to Onderland again. I think we all sway back and forth somewhat. As long as you are aware of it you will be return.
Theresa, Glad to hear things went well with DH. I am sure he will be feeling terrific after he heals.
I will now go and change my weight ticker to the proper weight. I need to do some housework that is for sure. Don't know what else I may get into today.
Cheers, Linda

I'm afraid I gained 2 lbs last week, am back up to 206....going the wrong direction. Am getting my spark tracker up and going this weekend and then will start walking and tracking....am interested in seeing how 'little' I have been walking.
I have half of April left and I would love to see 8-10 lbs lost.

What is our challenge this week???
If we are still posting our breakfast, I had a boiled egg, 1 cup V8 juice, slice of toast and cup of coffee with half and half. About 250 calories.

Well, I have started this post 4 different times and it 'got lost', I don't know how. So I think I will not try my luck and go for now.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Will talk to you soon.

Welcome zoomzoom!!!!!

Hugs,
Lynn

Well Easter Bunny left me a few eggs and you know that I just didn't look at them. But I managed to stay the same so I'm happy.

Dwayne, don't feel bad about leaving "Onelander" You'll get it back in no time. You've done it once you'll do it again.

Theresa, so glad everything went good for your hubby. Now just keep him down till he recuperates. LOL

You did well this week keep up the good work.

Linda, I think the cough is the worse thing. Just be careful you don't break a rib ok.

Mary. Your not taking time for yourself . You have to stop and breath a little then you can take care of the other things. Take care of yourself.

Agnes, we had thunder storms last night and on and off again rain storms today. One good thing it's melting the snow so I'm hoping it continues. They are announcing warmer temps for this week so we'll see.

Dwayne, you would have been happy here today you could have ran through the puddles for sure I know my GGS sure loved it .

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hugs Margaret

Good Morning All You 48er's,

Well Mary, I lost my week in "Onederland" this morning. Weigh-in was 201.1. UP 2 POUNDS! For a split second I was in disbelief, then a bit of frustration, then almost anger, then got tapped on the head and reminded to "Let It Go...and move forward". So I'm even more resolved to get back below 200# and STAY THERE. Margaret, I hadn't seen your post...love the cartoon, so could have used that this morning.

Linda, sorry to hear of your ongoing battle with that cough. My DS gets it from allergies and the like, but gratefully I'm being spared that.

As for all of you getting snow, I only wish there was someway to push that white stuff west and give us some relief here in California. When they say we're going to have rain, it's barely enough to get your car damp and it's gone by 6 PM! Rain is when there's puddles on the ground and kids jumping in them on the way to school...now that's rain.

Breakfast today was one of my DW's "Kitchen Sink Salads" she makes for me. She calls it a "21" salad as it's got 21 different things in it. Ate about 2/3 of it for dinner last night and finished it for breakfast this AM. May sound strange, but I used to work rotating shifts for 20+ years, so breakfast used to be anything that sounded good. Anywho, calories were 299; 13g carbs; 15g fat; 23g protein and 7g fiber. Also had a tbsp. of Chia seeds.

Hope everyone has a great week-end and keep on posting...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi, Cute joke Margaret. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't been on here now for awhile. This cold and cough is still hanging on. I have coughed so much my whole body aches. The doctor did put me on antibiotics for a week. Have only had two of them so far. Hopefully I'll feel better again soon.
Cant believe some of you still are getting snow. I'll send some sun your way to melt it for you. I so much want to go outside to garden, but the air is still cold and it starts me barking like a seal.
Best go and tidy up gently around the house.
Cheers, Linda

Hello! Where does the time go lately? Doesn't seem like I can get to everything that I need to do... either from this knee slowing me down or with everything else that comes up. But thank goodness, I'm still trying.

emoticon Bernie! So glad to see you back with us.

emoticon ZoomZoom! Always good to see new faces/posts dropping by. Hope to see you here often.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend here even though Saturday we attended my cousin's husband's funeral who died suddenly last week at the young age of 54. What a huge loss for her & their only child & their church where he was the Associate pastor. Sunday morning at church, then Sunday afternoon filled with family at DD's house for BBQ & egg hunt for the kids. We had a yard full. So needless to say I did over do it some.

Temperatures are warming up here to the point that we definitly knew today that Summer is near. Afraid we;re in for some rain though.

Dwayne, I saw a weather news report a few days ago about the drought in CA. Looks really serious!

Agnes & Margaret, sure hope you get better weather soon. A friend of mine from New Brunswick said on Easter Sunday that they were getting more snow & They STILL had 4 feet of it in their back yard! WOW.

Hello everyone!

Welcome Zoomzoom!

Agnes - you and Margaret are still in the depths of winter. Almost makes me feel guilty the nice weather we are having here.

Breakfast today was bran flakes cereal and yogurt. Coffee with milk. One orange.

I worked out 30 minutes on my elliptical trainer and did 25 minutes of circuit training.

Enjoy the Day!

Hi All,

It snowed last night, and so my dirt road is now under about 3 inches of snow with a little sleet thrown in for good measure. I know it will stop some day, but apparently not this week.

Welcome Zoomzoom. I live in Maine - no surprise given the weather I just reported. Welcome to our group.

Best,

THANKS FOR SAYING HI!! WHAT KIND OF QUILTS DO YOU MAKE I USED TO DO EMBROIDERED SQUARES. I HAD A LARGE FRAME AND EVERYTHING. I HAD TO GIVE IT AWAY; I HAD DEVELOPED(CTS) CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME. IT CAUSED ME TO STOP QUILTING, CROCHETING, TATTING, EMBROIDERY AND SMOCKING. I SURE WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME THAT YOU HAVE MADE!! I WAS PRETTY GOOD WITH THE CROCHET I COULD WORK WITH 3-5 STRANDS AT ONE TIME. I MADE SLIPPERS, POT HOLDERS( OF COARSE) DOILLIES, MY FAMILY LOVED THE RIPPLED COLLAR ON THEM. I REALLY MISS DOING IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU KEEP ON IF YOU START TO HAVE COLD FINGERS,TINGLING, STIFF JOINTS, I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO BUY A SET OF BRACES AND WEAR THEM AT NIGHT. YOU CAN STAVE OFF CTS CAN'T ALWAYS PREVENT IT. IF YOU DID NOT KNOW IT IS CAUSED BY REPETITIVE MOTION.

Welcome ZoomZoom! Hope you come back to post often and get to know us! Nice to have a lucky number - 13. Don't know that I have one.

Margaret, my quilt is ready for borders which I hope to get on tomorrow. It has been a most interesting pattern - quite a challenge. I'm also ready to quilt a charity quilt for Project Linus. Maybe some day I will sit down and figure out how to post pictures and then I will post a few quilt pics I have made. I have given most of them away so I only have a few.

Had a great Easter and it seems so did many of you. Oh happy day!

I'm doing pretty well on my goals this week but I'm having a lot of trouble getting in those 8 glasses of water. I've really gotten out of the habit.

Thanks for welcoming me back. Every day is a new day in my life so I am trying to get back to some kind of routine.

Margaret - I can't believe you are still getting SNOW!!! I have mowed our lawn once already last week and I'll be doing it again in a day or two. I can't believe how fast everything is growing here.

Hi everyone, well yesterday was just a day full of fun for us. We had all the family over . The only thing was that the babies had a bit of chocolate before they came over. Were they ever energetic.
Saturday we had a little snowstorm which dropped about 10 cm on us. I felt sad because we wanted to take the kiddies out walking on Sunday but that was out of the question because it was real nippy.

Agnes , You must be feeling free seeing you can walk down your road. In a few weeks you'll be able to do more then that I'm sure. We can actually see some grass in the front of the house now so I'm getting anxious.

Hope you all had a great day yesterday with your friends and family.

My breakfast was 2 toast and light cheese whiz. total of 286 calories.

We also got a blast of cold and snow flurries yesterday, and more expected today. Still, the sun was out now and then and that was nice. Enough snow is gone that now I can walk the dog up and down our dirt road, which is a wonderful thing for both of us. We need to get back in shape!

The dongle on my step tracker stopped working. After much back and forth with the SP help desk, they determined that it was broken and since it is over a year old it is not under warranty. The silver lining is that I could purchase just the dongle, and so that's what I did. Now I'm back to tracking my steps and that is very helpful for me to keep my motivation.

My Easter was a lot quieter than for most of you. We did go out to dinner with a friend and that was nice. I felt sorry for all the outdoor egg hunting activities that must have been cancelled or at least shortened yesterday by the weather.

Must go now.

Breakfast: 1 boiled egg and plain english muffin. I wasn't all that hungry after last night's dinner.

Best,
Agnes

Happy Easter everyone!

Sorry I did not log in on Friday. I even forgot to weigh but today it is still the same as last week. So much going on here at the moment. The good news is that hubby is feeling much better this weekend. I hope he feels this good going into surgery on Thursday as that will put him ahead of the game I am sure.

Dwayne - congrats on ONEDERLAND!! WOOHOO!!

Congrats to all who lost this week. I know we can all reach our goals.

Linda I hope you and your hubby will get to feeling better soon!

Well, I better run. Turkey is in the oven and the family will be here shortly.

Hugs,
Theresa

Happy Easter All You '48er's,

Hope you're enjoying today. FIL is coming for dinner with us. Looking forward to the visit.

Bernie, so happy to see your posts....missed your cheery attitude. Glad all is well, as for the weight, you'll get it off...we all learn from what we've done in the past. The more posts I read, the more I learn that we need to stay active AND stick to posting results, tracking what we eat, just doing what we've been doing to get the results we want. I know you'll do fantastic with the challenge.

Breakfast for me today was: a slice of Ezekiel 4:9 Flax toast, a wedge of Laughing Cow Pepper Jack cheese, a slice of oven roasted turkey breast and a tbsp. of Chia seeds = 191 calories, 14g carbs; 7g fat; 14g protein and 7g fiber. Yesterday's totals were: 1639 calories ( too high for me); 36g of carbs, 82g fat (a bit too high) 158g protein (again too high?) and 37g of fiber.

Exercise was 45 minutes of cardio and 50 minutes of Lower body work. Today's gym was 45 min. of cardio and 70 minutes of upper body work.

And I want to let all of you know how grateful I am for all your posts...you truly inspire me and keep me going.

Hope all of you have a wonderful day today with family and friends.

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

HAPPY EASTER everyone. Hope you all have a great day with your family and friends.

emoticon Bernie, nice to see you. Glad to hear your ok we missed having you post. How is your new quilt going?

Linda, up until yesterday we were having beautiful weather. Right up to putting on the spring jacket. But yesterday we were back into the freeze zone along with a big snow storm. Everything is backed to being white again. I thought we would have a mild Easter but that's not going to happen. So could you send us some of your nice weather please.

Lynn, sounds like your becoming a very busy bee lately. You must be having a great time.

Ok I have to go now as I'm expecting my whole family for lunch today and I have a million things to do before they get here. The GGS will be here so that means lots of fun . Have a great day everyone.

Hi Everyone,
I have been MIA and the scales prove it as I am up to 185. I began the Spring 5% Challenge today with a goal of losing 9 pounds in 8 weeks. So as of today it is back to the basics for me:
Exercise
Tracking
8 glasses of water every day
That's my goal this week and a drop of at least 1.5 pounds.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter!
Bernie

Mornin' all,

I stayed the same this week. Lucky for me too....seems like we 'celebrated' hubby's BD a little every day. Today we are going out to dinner with our 2 sons at AppleBees.
I am still having a hard time with the pain in my ear. Doctor says it is getting better and does not understand why there is so much pain still. Hopefully the next couple of days should completely knock it out of me.
Dwayne, congrats on the Onederlander status. I too am almost there....can hardly wait. I am going to be really honest and complete on my posting this week. Need to lose 2-3 lbs.

Looks like we are posting in our breakfast again.....what a great idea.....
Today I had: 1 boiled egg, 3/4 c Kelloggs cereal, 1/2 c skim milk, 3/4 v8 Juice and a pink grapefruit cup......355 calories. A little high for me but I wanted toast with my egg but did not have any. But I am still not doing too badly. Just have to watch a little for lunch and dinner.

Well, I l have a ton of things to do, which includes coloring eggs with the granddaughters today so I better run. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

And if I don't get to come back and chat, I wish each of you a very Blessed Easter.

Hugs,
Lynn

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
