Linda, so sorry to hear you have been under the weather again. I sure hope it leaves you alone now. But I'm glad your daughter was there with you. Don't push yourself to hard take the time to recuperate. Hope you had a nice time out with your friends. Did you have much pain when you got home?

Have a good rest of the day.

Hugs Margaret

Hi, Sorry that I have been missing on here. Had my daughter staying here and helping out. She kept me plenty busy and not on computer. I also ended up in hospital again. Flare up from my last big operation. I was a mess, but here I am bad home again. Trying to eat small meals and keep some food in me.
Dwayne, Glad to see you are losing once again. Goodie will be sent shortly.
Agnes and Margaret,, You still sound like you have lots of winter weather left there. We have had beautiful sunshine up until yesterday when we were left in foggy weather all day. It did not burn off. Today is semi foggy but I will be going on my walk with the group. Hoping that I can keep up with them as I still have a very sore stomach area., but want to keep things moving along.
Cheers, Linda

Dwayne, congratulations on your weight loss. You've figured out how to do it, and you're seeing results! Goodie on its way.

Mary, pain sure makes us feel out of sorts and old. I think once you get the oral abscess taken care of and your knee, you'll be feeling much more energetic. I hope that you can take something for the pain.

Margaret, you and I are in the same weather pattern. No outdoor walking for me. It will be a treadmill week ahead.

Best,
Agnes

Good morning everyone.

Mary, sorry to hear that you are still having so much pain in your knee. I do hope the doctor will give you that operation soon so you'll be back up walking around for the summer. As for your tooth Ouch... I hate going to the dentist I'm terrified of them . Nasty experiences when I was young and never got over them.

Dwayne, emoticon emoticon your on a roll . Keep up the good work. I've sent you off your goodie enjoy.

This morning my friend and I will be heading to the big mall to get in our walking. We couldn't breath yesterday when we tried the wind was just to cold so we are not taking any chances today we are heading there straight away.

WE are getting much colder temps this week and by the weekend they will be much colder. Winter has been very strange here.

Hope you all have a great day.

emoticon Dwayne on being our "Biggest Loser" for last week with your 1.4lb loss! SparkGoodie on the way.

Well I saw the oral surgeon today & waiting for clearance from my cardiologist for surgery. He said he will be putting me to sleep for it, have to break the tooth in pieces to remove it then to remove the cyst where the infection is & send that off for biopsy.

I also called my orthopedic surgeon today to set up an appt. This knee pain has gotten worse & I will be seeing about some relief for it somehow.

My Baby Girl turned 41 today! Feeling kind of old here an just a little sad too.

Good morning all.on our way to church this morning. Scanned posts quickly but will come back later to determine the biggest loser of the past week.

I was blessed to spend the day yesterday at a ladies conference with my sister and had such a great day. It was a first for her and she really enjoyed it. Then last night we attended a cousin's 40th anniversary party where their children honored them in a special way and then they renewed their vows.

Needless to say it made for a very long day. So tired this morning but I am thankful for this day and for all of you.

Good Morning Everyone,
I'm late at reporting in, but no weight loss to report. I'm holding at 149, so I guess that's ok. I've been exercising more and eating less, so I'll keep at it. I learned recently that my thyroid is not functioning well. I've started to take some medication for that and it should help with my metabolism. We'll see.

As for work information....I'm planning to retire at the end of April. I'm looking forward to it. I've loved working and have always felt that I was making a difference, but this current job is stressful and many more hours a week than 40. There's never a break. In my mind I'm more quitting my job than retiring. I'm not planning to get another job, but I know that there are many ways that I can contribute in my community. I'm looking forward to exploring the options and having a little more free time to myself. It will be a big change, for sure.

We had a big storm here yesterday. A good foot of snow on the ground that froze overnight. A lot of car accidents and power outages yesterday.

Hope you all have a good day.

Best,
Agnes

Good Friday to All,

Well, weight was 214.8#'s. Down from last week and on track to go below 215#'s which is one of my goals. Every 5#'s down is a series of goals for me; broken down into 3 steps.

Yesterday's #'s:
calories = 1321
carbs = 98g - 23%
fat = 84g - 44%
protein = 138g
fiber = 5g
steps = 12,600
Gym = Cardio

Today I'm grateful to be down again on my weight; one of many things I'm grateful for today.

Challenge for me today: "Try" to do 2 things on my list of 3 daily things I "hope' to accomplish that day; so far challenge is 1/2 way there...

Mary, your GS who hits the gym every day is a marvel. I know what it's like working a 12 hour shift and to still make the gym, that is dedication personified! I so enjoy seeing that in young people. Not enough of that today.

Deana, as you asked for work history. I retired in 2010 at 62 from a BP Oil refinery here in South. Calif. I'd been there for almost 24 years and had been hired when it was an Arco refinery. The first year I didn't really do anything but be a couch potato. My Dr. says I was on "Sabatical" but I think he was just being kind. That's when I made the decision and started going to the gym every day. It's been great, but I retired WAY TOO YOUNG! I'm looking to go back to work as it is and part of me wishes I'd never left. But DW wanted me to and I thought I was so smart and had the whole plan figured out! WRONG ON SO MANY COUNTS. Live and learn as they say. If I can find a job or 2 now I think I'll probably just keep working. I've come to realize I enjoy working. The most difficult thing was we worked a rotating shift of 2-3 days on, then 2 or 3 nights, back and forth. These were 12 hour shifts and I had a 1+1/2 - 2 hour commute each way, so my shifts turned into 16 hours. Then if someone called in sick or something they would always call me, since no one else ever seemed to be available. Going back to work now would ease financial issues and my concerns over my DW's health problems. Now she has to see a Cardiovascular surgeon for a by-pass. Doubt if Obamacare is going to help much with that, if at all. Hasn't helped yet.

Anyway enough of my dribble and complaining. Deana, I don't see how you can resist a 20 foot buffet of chocolate. My DW would be in heaven at an event like that. She keeps telling me how healthy chocolate is for you (she only eats dark chocolate) then I tell her it can be in moderation and a cup of dark semi-sweet chocolate chips IS NOT MODERATION.

Til next time and I promise it won't be a novel,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

You're too funny Deana! I was hoping for more but I went down a 1/2#. I was so careful until yesterday.....Oreo cookies and cards with husband did me in, at least that's my excuse!! I can still make my mini goal for the 4th of March if I can stay 'focused' and out of the cookies!!!!

Have a great Friday every one!!! To answer the question regarding work.....I work in an elementary/middle school as a para. My area is with grades 1 - 3 and also a block of time with the school nurse. In the evenings I have a cleaning job that averages 1.5 hours. I hope to work till 70 or more...all depends on my husband's health.

Good Morning!
I stayed the same this week, in spite of what I considered to be a very healthy week with eating and exercise.
I did not track every day and when I did I was under calories.
This next week, I am going to try for better breakfast. I tend to forget it and it becomes an mid-morning snack.

It will be a hard weekend-- this is our Annual Jazz&Chocolate Event; 8th year. I do most of the decorating, at least that is an non-caloric activity.
Amazingly, I do not eat a lot of the chocolate desserts, I am actually pretty disciplined and I have never been a huge dessert person. But, even with that said, I do indulge in more than I should. How could you not with a 20 foot buffet of chocolate!

Good Luck to all.

Temp here is 55 F, Margaret, that's about 12.7 C for you ... but the wind has been blowing all day so I have hardly been able to warm up all day...and yet we have had an unusually mild Winter so far. I think it hit freezing temps only once. Anyway, I'm back home now & relaxing before getting supper done. Just don't know what to fit. Stomach upset so I really don't care to eat much at all but DH & GS will want something.

Deana, I retired from work after I turned 62 then returned to work last June with a former patient. It's not really work but I do get paid for 21 hrs a week. My schedule is very flexible so I can say what days & what hours I chose each week. NO weekends or holidays.

Dwayne I GS who lives with us is a daily gym person like you. Even after he works a 12 hr shift he will spend a couple of hours at the gym working out before he comes home. He hardly ever misses a day.

Hey everyone, don't forget tomorrow is emoticon day so I'll be checking for reports!

Hi All,

Quick check-in before I "think my way out" of working out...

Last 2 days #'s:
calories = 1529 / 1384
carbs = 146g - 30% / 68-20%
fat = 84g - 39% / 81-54%
protein = 150g / 85g
fiber = 15g / 7g
steps = 15,760 / 10,144
Gym = Cardio + Lower workout / Cardio + Upper

I'll work on eliminating the word "perfect" from some things, mostly dealing with me. Guess I should have said I do the best I can, as best I can. Guess I didn't make my point clear, which is a lot of my problems. Ask DW!!!

Will be writing later, want to respond to Deana's last post, but off to the gym now.

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Good morning everyone.

Deana, I retired just before I turned 65 . I feel like I'm working more now then I ever did. But it's what I want to do now instead of being told what to do. As long as you enjoy your work and you can do it from home I thin it's great for you.

Mary, hope your taking care of that cold. You know with us we can have it turned into something else so take care.

We had a very messy day yesterday. Got up and it was snowing enough to get the snow blower out. The only thing was it was to wet because it had started to freeze rain on top of it then it was just rain. Boy was it heavy shovelling. It stayed at 5 Celsius all night it's going up to 8 with sun which will make for a pleasant walk.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi All,
I am just wondering how many of us are still working at a paying job--since I know you all work all the time at something. Everyone sounds so busy.
So, I am curious if you are how long you plan to work before retiring. I personally would love to make it until I am 70- because I have some personal and financial goals I am trying to achieve. Along with I like working, I mostly enjoy my job.

I am trying to make my steps too, Celie, I have stayed above 10000 a day for 3 weeks now. Today, we made it to the gym as well. Love to sneak out to gym at lunch, and I can do it because I work from home.
Psalm 118:24 is an easy one to get stuck in your head. Tonight was choir practice, my daughter and I are in the church choir together. She wasn't there tonight, so it we really fun to text her to say they assigned her a solo in a couple weeks. That what you get for skipping!

Hope you have a great day!

It's been a long day at work. Came home & made spaghetti & green beans for supper. This cold is making me hurt but I'm pressing onward.

emoticon Feeling Good!!!!! Even have a song in my head! "This is......." Psalm118:24. Look it up. Well, I am off to work. Did I ever say that in a normal day I walk average of 4 miles. I should on purpose detour and go up the stairs on one end of the hall then down on the other! Time doesn't allow usually but there must be a way to add them in now and then right? :) Everyone have a great day!!

Celie, that is funny that you have something else in common with so many of us.

Dwayne, emoticon with Agnes, let's lose that perfection word because it does not fit us. Lets all just emoticon to do our best. That's all we can do.

Agnes, I did a good bit of decluttering yesterday also but today I did not.

I do not want to start a trend here but I went to the dentist this morning Dwayne & he found a large abcess around a wisdom tooth. I am now on antibiotics & have an appt with an oral surgeon for next Monday. Hope no one else joins this little dental group of ours.

Good Morning Friends,

Celie, I live in Maine near Acadia National Park - a lovely place to walk when there is no snow or ice on the ground. I grew up in Massachusetts, lived in NYC and then NJ for a couple of years, and then D.C. for many, many years. Been here in Maine for the past 15 years and we love it.

Dwayne, Let's toss that perfection word out the window. None of us are or ever will be perfect. We are works in progress. Every small accomplishment should be a cause for celebration. I did a little decluttering yesterday. I filled a smallish box with books that I no longer want to see on my book shelf. Our local library has a second hand store and a huge book sale in the summer. That's where these books are headed. Every little bit counts.

Linda, the line dancing sounds like fun, and the pedicure sounds divine. I know this is a difficult time, and I hope you feel all our hugs.

I'm off to work for a very full day. Best wishes to all,

Agnes

Hope you all had a nice day! Thanks for letting me know where you're all from. Too funny. I came from the east coast as a young kid to the west coast, went to school 4 years in Alberta, Canada, visited southern Louisiana for my son's wedding, and in 2020 we are planning a trip to Disney Land in California. For work I went from nursing to daycare then to education from which I'll retire to play in the dirt of my garden. Thanks again :)

Not a bad day :) Working on showing a loss on Friday!!! Good night, Celie

Hi everyone, Nice to see where everyone is from. I live in B.C. Canada on Vancouver Island.
Had a busy day today with getting more papers signed. I also had a good workout with my line dancing. Had two more friends join in so that made it more fun. I did get lots of walking in today as well and my food intake today was within my range of calories. Tomorrow will be a relax day. I have an appointment for a pedicure which I am looking forward to. I have been doing more driving around lately and am getting back into the swing of things . After all those years of being driven everywhere it is a shock to have to do it myself. Everyday is another day of getting by with out my spouse. It is terribly hard for me but I am managing so far. My eldest daughter will be coming to stay for a few days this coming Thursday. I will be picking her up at the ferry terminal which will be quite a drive for me.
Best go and unwind with my book before bedtime. Thanks again to all my good Spark friends.
Cheers, Linda

Want to thank you Mary for the boxing gloves; hmmm, maybe DW wants to go a couple rounds? Nope, I think she'd "whup up on me" too bad. She's small, but she's feisty.

Celiems, thanks for the Ab wheel. Again, something I truly can use. As for where I'm from; I was born in Des Moines, Iowa and we migrated to Southern California in 1955. Been here ever since and seen a lot of changes; not all of them good.

Today got back to the gym and working on getting out of this "funk" I've put myself into. Just so many nagging concerns I'm trying to let go of and move forward. Does help

Yesterday's #'s:
calories = 1152
carbs = 146g - 53%
fat = 36g - 28%
protein = 54g
fiber = 41g
steps = 1,564
Gym = no workout

I continue to deal with procrastinating and I'm going to win that battle. I won't be 100% perfect, but I can do a lot better.

I'm also working on the clutter; taking just 1 or 2 things at a time, that has started to turn into more. I think it's working, but slowly, and we all know we want results NOW!

Well, enough of my blabbering; so good to hear where all of you live. I think we've got most of the North American continent covered.

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Celiems, I live in Laval, Quebec, in Canada. It's just north of Montreal Quebec.

Had a lovely day with friends . On our walk the wind was gusting a 85 kilometer. per hour. At one time we thought we were going to be like the flying Nun. LOL But it was 5 Celsius and nice to be walking again. This afternoon it went up to 17 Celsius in the sun. But we are going to pay for it tonight it's going back to the minus again.

Hope you have a great evening.

Good morning everyone.....a new day.,,,,a new cold day. 23 at 5:30 but supposed to get in the 40s. Everyday is a new day! Remember I said I was going to start some seeds indoors? Well they are up! Now I am watching the little plants grow a bit before I take them to the kid;s green house. AND I am back to recording what I eat. Drinking water is the big challenge. Now if coffee counted as water I'd be good!!

Everyone have a great day! Question? What state are you all from? I am from Washington in the beautiful NW :)

Hi there.

Dwayne, this just might be the little push you needed to get back on the downward way again. So use it to your advantage and see how far it takes you. They say new habits take about a week to form so who knows.

Mary, sounds like you have been spreading yourself a little thin and your body is saying enough I need sleep. Hope you have a better day today. Also thanks for the goodie .

Today I'll be meeting up with my friend for our walk and then we will meet up with another one we haven't seen in a while. It's nice to keep in touch with them all .

Weather wise we are having a mild week it looks good. A little rain and a few flurries but the temps are mild. If the rest of the winter is like this it will make me very happy. LOL.

Hope your all have a great Monday.

Dwayne, sorry the Spark Goodie didn't get sent when I intended but it's there now. You've earned it!! It may not have been the way you wanted to lose it but that's ok. We have to roll with the punches, right??

Celie, good to see you back. Hang in there, we all have bad times but together, emoticon

My day has been a complete blur. I slept on the way to church, on my way back from church, slept all afternoon & sit here now trying to keep my eyes open & trying to keep my mind from shutting down. So glad there's nothing on my calendar for tomorrow! Hopefully I'll snap out of this fog!

Good Sunday Morning All,

Thank you all for the goodies:
Margaret, for the shoes, they will come in handy...
Agnes, for the dumbells; something I truly need at home...
Linda, for your cheers...
Deana, for the clothes, hopefully will soon need a smaller size...

I will say that in honesty I don't feel that worthy since the dental work kept me away from eating more than I normally would some days. Others days didn't hardly eat at all, which isn't good. But I am so grateful.

My goal for this next week is to lose 1/2% of my weight. Anything more a bonus, anything less, well, you all know what that means. TRY HARDER!

I'm grateful for all of you out there, cheering me on as you do the others, it does mean a lot. Also grateful it's the end of the month, since I missed 2 days on the Spark Trivia and got knocked way down the list; I intend to be back on top this next month.

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Good morning everyone. emoticon Dwayne goodie has been sent. emoticon you'll be at your goal before long.

Deana, great job on dropping those pounds emoticon

It's winter Carnival time here. Yesterday morning I went to one with my daughter grandson and Great grandson. had a lovely time. The walking around wasn't the best because of the ice under the snow. The little guy was having a great time with his uncle going on all the slides they had and climbing rock mountains made out of snow along with the trampolean . We all had a great time. Then I got back home to warm up thank goodness. LOL Then in the afternoon at about 4 we were gone to see our other grandson playing in a hockey tournament outside. It started off not to bad but the second game I was hit by the humidity and couldn't stay anymore. But my son phoned us to let us know that the boys had won the cup . They had won every game they played which was awesome seeing they were in last place before Christmas but have been practicing a lot since. Our D-DIL was doing a lot of yelling to encourage them I'm sure she will be paying for it today . But they have another hockey game as well. They finished the tournament at about 8 last night the last game they won 7-3.

The outdoor air made for a great sleep last night I managed to get in 9 hours that's a record for me.LOL

Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

Hugs Margaret

Good Morning, emoticon Up a pound. Still under my goal . Now 164.5
I think my dinner last night did me in. I splurged and bought myself a small steak. Had a baked potato and veggies. Of coarse with sour cream etc.
Today I am off to weigh in with the ladies from up the road, then off to ladies lunch with my alumni group . I will have to make good choices from the menu.
Hope the rest of you have good weigh in reports. I will check in later today.
Margaret, Good for you losing once again. Keep up the good work.
Cheers, Linda

emoticon Friday saw me at 229 this week so I'm down 1 pound. That's pretty good considering.

It's snowing here but we aren't supposed to get much and tomorrow it's suppose to be rain. We were going to go watch our grandson pay hockey on an outside rink so we'll have to see how that turns out.

Hope you all have a great weigh in.

Weight is 203 same as last week and I'm thankful. Been a hard week for eating. Did good to start and then 3 days we ate out which is not so easy sometimes.
It's snowed again and is so cold. No walking today but we are going out tonight. Might try to do alittle dancing. Wish my lower body moved better.

Still working on my using the tools here.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I've been MIA for a week. It was just a difficult one and I'm not sure why. Running around doing a lot of different things. I'll try to do better.

Mary, Congratulations on winning the challenge last week. I'll send a belated goodie.

I'm at 148.5 this week, which is the same as I've been for quite awhile. I am doing better at tracking and exercise, but I need to be more consistent. I know what to do. I just need to do it.

Best,
Agnes

I am working at using more of the tools on SparkPeople. I am going to check some gyms around town who might take Senior Sneakers. Hoping one with pool access will since walking and exercising in water is easier on the knees and lower back.
Hubby had DR in next town yesterday and he wanted to go eat at his favorite resturant. I tried to be good and make better selections. So hoping it will not hurt on weigh in friday.

It has turned really windy & cold again today. Glad to be back home & in my warm P.J.'s but got to return to work tomorrow so we be heading to bed soon. Had a long 3 days of early mornings & late nights.

Char, glad to see you were able to set up your Spark Page. Sorry you are so limited in your options to walk, etc. Don't give up. We non walkers can still make progress even though it may not be as much or as fast. We must emoticon

Margaret, it sounds really really cold your way! Glad you & your walking buddy are making a pact to not only walk, but to share a meal together. That can be a big help in keeping you more accountable.

Deana, I agree, Chinese Buffet is lethal to our progress and yet we do it to ourselves in so many ways. My DH loves to go to Chinese Buffet too but thankfully it's only about once a month.

Dwayne, nice to see you posting again.

Hi All,

Feels like I haven't checked in for months?!?!?! Guilty conscience I guess, because I haven't been to the gym in 6 Days! Been to Dentist or Dr. and shopping with DW. The day is gone before I know it and I don't get moving early enough (Can I say PROCRASTINATION?) All to hopefully stop for a while tomorrow.

Yesterday's numbers:
calories = 1000
carbs = 58g - 25%
fat = 33g - 32%
protein = 99g
fiber = 1g
steps = 4,048
Gym = No Workout!

Deana, you can do this, just keep posting and keep working out. Keep writing what you eat, how you're feeling, and if you go out to eat with DH, have a salad and maybe a light soup. Do stay away from those buffets.

Margaret, good question about celebrations, and I think back and like you said, for any reason there's a celebration it always turns to food. That's where we have to show our resolve and do the right thing. It's not always easy, but we can have a small slice of cake; just no seconds. Eat with portion control in mind. I know it sounds easier than it is, but we can all do this.

Char, I know what you're saying about low carb eating. If I do too much, I go over on the fat side of the equation and the cholesterol goes up...GEESH, what to do, what to do.

Linda, you're in my prayers often and I hope you're doing O.K. I can't imagine what you're going through, but know that all of us here on '48ers' are with you through your sorrow.

Well, off for now,
til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi
It is really hard when eating out. I try to avoid going out whenever I can.
My husband has gotten into the habit of wanting to eat out, which is so strange since if you would roll this back 10 years he never wanted to go out to eat.
Today, he went out to lunch-alone. I was working, but since I do work from home I could rearrange the schedule to go with him, but --no, thanks, I don't need the Chinese buffet food calories. It is so deadly.
I feel like I might finally be making some progress. I have been walking and tracking my food.
I just hope to keep this up.

Good morning everyone. Hope your all having a great day. I got my walk in before the freezing rain started. We started off dry and on our way back we had snow. Now it's the freezing rain and I' glad to be home.

Why is it that we always think of celebrations along with food. Going out to the restaurant for a birthday , or for a promotion or just meeting up with friends. We always think of food.

My friend and I have started to share the meal so we get to try new things but we only get half of the calories. So far it's working and I've even tried doing it with hubby and he doesn't seem to mind either.

WE are trying to cut down on the restaurant. Notice I said try. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Rainy cold weather yuck!! Just saying it is so hard to try to stay low carb when you are stuck eating out several nights in a row. Will keep working on this new way. Just wish I had more room to walk.

Well thank you all for the neat goodies!
Linda, enjoyed the vegetable soup! Hugs to you! I think the loneliness is just about the worse in losing a spouse. I still grateful that mine happened at a younger age & I still had all 3 of my girls at home. Do try to find ways for outings which might help. Like Deana, I wish we were closer to you for support.

Margaret, thanks for the roller skates! That will make the trip to the trash easier if I can just learn to skate! LOL I hadn't said anything yet because I was hoping Bernie & Agnes might post theirs but I appreciate you calling the winner/biggest loser! Thanks

Deana, thanks for the new work out shoes. I did need a new pair! So glad you're back with us!

Dwayne, Thanks for the flowers. I do love to get them. My DH is good about buying them too. I always enjoy them any time of year. I also enjoy being the record keeper. emoticon And the Weight Lifting Gloves will come in handy as I did not have any!

Celie, thanks for the sweet note!

Lynn, Hope that major headache is better by now. Better get those eyes checked soon!

Linda, I am sure this is a incredibly hard adjustment. I just want to give you a big hug because nothing anyone can say or do will make it easy.

Good Sunday morning to all,

Margaret, DW goes to see the Cardiologist tomorrow, so we'll see what the plan of attack is now. I think she's opting for the by-pass. As for me, I'm doing just fine; going to take it easy today for one last day, then back to workouts tomorrow.

Thanks Deana for the well wishes. I've been a member of Spark for about 1-1/2 years now and on this topic site for I think about a year +. How time flies. Been a lot of ups and downs, but it's all good and we all keep moving forward.

Yesterday's #'s:
calories = 1410
carbs = 118g - 34%
fat = 58g - 39%
protein = 90g
fiber = 13g
steps = 1,480
Gym = No Workout!

Today I continue to be grateful for my healing and getting better every day.

Today's challenge: to accomplish 2 items on my To-Do list. Right now, 1 down,
1 to go!

Hope all have a great finish to their week-end,
til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Slow morning for me. Woke up with major headache and thinking i need to get my eyes checked. Been about 3 years, ugh. Anyhow trying to get eating under control and cutting back on those nasty bad carbs. They really get me. Wish I was as good as some of you with the declutering. Seems i just reorganize stuff. LOL did do some getting rid of but not much.

As long as I've been on this site I never figured out how to send goodies. So now to learn the site better. Have a great day all.

Hi everyone, Hope your all doing well. We haven't heard from Agnes in a while I think she is on her vacation or she might be snowed in.

Deana, it looks like we started Sparks at the same time. It's been 10 years for me as well. I think back to when we started and realized what we have accomplished in that time. I had reached my goal and it has slowly come back to see me again. But imagine what would have happened if we hadn't been here I would have been in really bad shape. I just have to get back to where I feel good again.

Dwayne, I hope you start to feel good soon. How is your wife doing? Is all well with her as well?

Linda, good luck in selling all that you want to sell. It will help with the decluttering.

Mary, looks like your our biggest looser this week so I'll be sending off the goodie today.

I hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Margaret

Hi
Cool, I am in!

I know I have been absent so long I don't even know Dwayne. So, Dwayne, Hello! Hope you recover well from all the dental work.
I have been in and out of this group for the last 10 years, since I was 57. Which is how I choose my name, amazing it has been 10 years I have been playing around with SP.
I had lost about 40 pounds and now it is really creeping back. I just can't let that happen.

My weight was at 153.4 yesterday.
I just got to get back at this! We all know we can do it.
Deana

Welcome FITNESS57; I would think that all our welcome here to our cozy little group.

Yes decluttering seems to be at the top of everyone's New Year's Resolutions. Mine is an on-going battle as it were. Still working on it.

As for my "dental" issues. Yesterday Dentist pulled the root of a tooth that they'd done a root canal on last Monday. They fitted me for a "Flipper" that's what they called it, a tooth on a plate I pop in and out. Told to leave it in for 2 days now for the healing of the root removal to start. Also got a cream for the sore lip, which was not getting any better; seems a bit better today, hoping it continues. Next Friday I go in for the finish on the lower right rear tooth that started this whole fiasco with an absess. It'll be 8-9 months for the healing on the root removal to get a permanent implant done. This has happened to me 3 or 4 times over the past 10+ years; good check-ups, maybe a small cavity, then everything goes wrong. Oh well, onward and upward.

Challenge for today; not chewing very much, if at all. Yeah, that's a fun way to lose weight.

Today I'm grateful I have all of you to unload my "Whoas" on. Not sure if the spelling is correct, but you all know what I mean.

Yesterday's #'s:
calories = 1763
carbs = 130g - 30%
fat = 85g - 45%
protein = 104g
fiber = 16g
steps = 3,064
Gym = No Workout!
As you can see, too much going in, not enough exercise taking it out!

Well, I'm going to stop moaning and groaning, I'll get off my "Pity Pot" and put on my big boy pants and do what I can to improve...

Til next time,
Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Hi All
As I sit here reading about all the decluttering going on I have to share that is how I spent my morning. I reorganized my storage shelving in the basement and tossed.
My girls, also, give me the privilege of storing for them. My oldest especially since she has no easily accessible storage at her apartment finds it much easier to just toss it in the car and bring to us. So, much fun!
My youngest, although married and out for nearly five years still has stuff in her old closet and everything I ask mainly she tell me to get rid of whatever it is. So, on my part it is just doing it.
I know I am not in your challenge this time and I have gained, I am actually down a couple pounds. I am working hard to do 10000 steps a day. I am in competition with my husband and we are both trying to lose weight. Since, I sit at a computer all day it is much easier for him to make the 10000.
He is walking circles indoor space since it is too cold to take long walks.
Take care and have fun with your clutter!
Deana
