Home safe and sound, mission accomplished. The wording in the ceremony was beautiful, the cake was cute as could be, and the happy couple were surrounded with a lot of love. As an added bonus, the officiant reminded us of somebody but we couldn't think of whom (?) Does anybody remember the old Batman series on TV with Adam West? Do you remember the villain "King Tut" played by Victor Buono? THAT'S who the preacher reminded us of! (beard and all).
Now to download the pictures that Julie's boyfriend took for us and figure out how to tell the rest of the family. I start cooking for Easter tomorrow morning--I have a lemon ricotta Easter cake to make and refrigerate, and a pastel Lime green Jello mold to make. I'll wait until Sunday to make the roast and the mashed potatoes and gravy. Tomorrow afternoon we have a birthday party to attend for one of my niece's little boys, I did the gift shopping tonight after we got home.
Gotta get some shut-eye,
DB

Lynn, hope your hubby doesn't rush going back to work before he gets released from the doctor. I hope the surgery goes well.

Jo, our stores were open today and most will be open on Sunday. I was in one store this week that was open on Thanksgiving day this past November and they were told as a trade off they would not have to work on Easter 2014.

Hubby got home from work at 9:45, so we have postponed his birthday celebration until tomorrow after our family egg hunt.

-enjoy your chilli

Pat are your stores open.. We are all closed down here.
Tomorrow they will be open . Oh Pat I agree with hubby .. you need to investigate when things are not right...get them early.. My mom was always sick so guess what 2 of us gals complain about everything the other 2 would complain about nothing --
Sorry but that is why my eldest sister died .. She got bowel cancer --never talked complained or anything about her problems so when they found something it was almost too late -- she lived 7 years but always sickly and on meds..

Wow Deb and Pat sounds like you both are going to have awesome trips..

Yes I hope DB had a great time and everything went smoothly..

ladies saying good night now as my GS wants to use my computer and I will be watching a movie ..

everyone have a great sleep .

We are partly cloudy and 53.6.

Wouldn't you know, now that hubby is getting ready to have cataract surgery next Wednesday, he has more work than he can get done. We are not sure how long he will have to be off work since it involves heavy lifting, bending over and lots of sanding. He definitely shouldn't be involved in sanding wood. Of course, he's worried sick that he can't get their work completed although they've told him the work will wait for him. He will be working tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday before his surgery Wednesday. Can't keep a good man down!

I wonder how DB's son's wedding went. I hope she had a grand time!🎉

Where did Joan go, she hasn't posted in close to a week. I often wonder what happens when someone just suddenly leaves. A person doesn't have to quit chatting just because, perhaps their journey went off track.

Jo, I often wonder what's going on with Sue. The last two emails I sent her went unanswered. She has such struggles and I worry she's not well.

Off to get my chili heated for dinner.

Jo, thanks, I have been pretty quiet about my knees, mostly because I don't like to complain.
My husband hates that I keep everything inside of me and don't say when I am not feeling well. I guess growing up with 4 brothers and 2 sisters, be did get the individual attention when we were sick, so I just up with it.

Deb, how nice that you have family going with you. My daughter, SIL and two grandsons will be traveling with us too, but taking 2 cars and getting 2 rooms.

I have today off from babysitting, but have to get out to get my husband's birthday present while he is at work.

Hi All, I am fed up with my internet! They said it was fixed and now its worse then ever! I posted on here yesterday but evidently it didn't go thru.
Our weather is suppose to be getting nicer soon. But I have caught a wonderful cold. Today we went to the casino and I left with 100.00 extra! wish I could do that everytime. This gives me some extra money for vacation.
Just finished mapping out our trip, now I have to do the roadside America, its a site that has weird and different things to see. Hopefully we will see a lot of things. So excited about tis trip, daughter, son-in-law, and kids are going with us. Our daughter has been to most of the places we are going but her kids and husband haven't so it will be fun showing them! Especially Charleston, there is so much history there!
Well I better try and spin. If it will let me. Won't let me play any games anymore!

Deb

Jo, thanks.

Lynn, I have been having knee problems for about 15 years. When I when to doctor I mentioned that I had fallen in the bathtub once and almost fell down the stairs carrying Davis since the last visit to her office. She sent me to a specialist. He set me up for 6 weeks, 3 times a week for therapy. The results were not quick, but after we started working on my hips, getting my steps straight, I started to make progress. I have to go back to the specialist one more time to get the okay.

Pat, what brought about your need for PT? I can't remember if you said why. Congrats on being released🎉.

My morning was spent cleaning up after a sick little Sophie. Thankfully she made it out the back door before her morning meal came up. It was a mess cleaning it up from the deck😱. She has the most sensitive stomach and it doesn't help that she finds all sorts of junk outside to try and eat when we aren't watching her every move.

Tomorrow is my parents wedding anniversary.🎊🎉

I have finished PT and received a glowing report from my therapist. I'm sure my doctor will be pleased. I am walking so much better now. A beautiful day here. High near 70. It's off to zumba now. That will be 2 full hours of exercise for the day.

Jo good for you on your steps. I am achieving 13,000 steps each day, but that is a long ways from 17,000 which is your goal It takes me 13,000 steps to achieve 5 miles. Hoping sleep comes for everyone tonight and tomorrow is a pleasant day however you spend. Hoping DB comes home with pretty family pictures.

DB, safe travels.

Jo, that surprises me that your GS will be coloring eggs at school. My GS did plastic eggs in pre-school, but nothing in Kindergarten or first grade. I don't know if public schools have to withdraw from this because of the amount of other non-Christian school mates.

Fourteen hour work day today. Off to bed early tonight.

Jo, I was just wondering as I read about it reading a thread under the message boards. I was aware of the app for the iPhone and iPad but didn't realize there was a full blown website that is somewhat similar to Sparkpeople. The comments that people made were positive in searching and finding foods for tracking but was sorely lacking in fellowship. I have to agree that Spark message boards and the community of support is the best bar none.

I was interested to see if any of our ladies had looked into MFP and what they thought.

sorry Lynn I do not do too much searching around --I was told about sparks --joined and never ventured any further..

soon time to workout ..
Do you all know I have never dyed easter eggs ..? my GS has to take boiled eggs into class tomorrow to dye them for Easter-- which is weird as I thought there was to be no religious (symbols) in the class.. maybe they just say colour eggs ..

Question: does anyone use the My Fitness Pal site? I checked it out and I do like their food list as you can find pretty much anything. I didn't do much looking on there but I did track my dinner meal planned for today and the nutritional values were close although a bit different. I guess I'm so familiar and comfortable with Spark that I wouldn't change.

The MFP does have an app that works well with the Withings Healthmate app of which I use with my Smart Body Analyzer wireless scale, Pulse activity tracker and the BP Cuff Monitor which I use to track my health. I do see that Spark now works with Withings to track and record weight loss. I have not decided yet whether to sign up for that. I like the ability to weigh on my scale and have it automatically record it here on spark. I'll be thinking on that.

Any comments on the MFP?

I finally went to bed at 4am and got up at 7:45, pretty rough night. Jo, I feel for you when sleep won't come - so frustrating.

☀️It's sunny and 36.1 this morning. All that rain makes for green lawns and beautiful blooms. We'll be planting herbs in our pots that sit out on the deck. I love to step out the back door and snip fresh basil, parsley and chives.

Marinated Grape (cherry) Tomatoes

1 pint grape tomatoes sliced in half
- cup diced onions
- cup cubed feta cheese
2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp minced garlic
Red wine vinegar
Extra light virgin olive oil

Slice grape tomatoes, dice onions, cube feta cheese and toss together with basil and parsley. Mix together the salt, pepper, garlic, vinegar and olive oil. Mix with a fork or wire whisk until emulsified - the oil and vinegar no longer separate. Pour over tomato mixture and toss to coat. Cover and set aside until dinner.
*I do not refrigerate - best to let it sit out for about hour before serving.

Safe travels DB and let the good times roll.

I went to bed at 11 pm but was back up at 12:30. I sleep pretty good about every other night it seems, it wears me out.😔

By the time hubby went to bed at 10 pm we had already received 4" of rain and it was still raining. Temp dropped from 74 to 48 through the evening hours. Hope we don't hit the freezing mark. I'd hate to see my cherry blooms die when it had just fully opened.

Thanks Pat and Jo on comments about my tree😊. I'm hoping my azaleas and rhododendrons will be in bloom when our CA company gets here. I'd like them to be able to enjoy some spring color in the yard. I'm crossing my fingers.

I'm back to baking biscotti today and getting it put in the freezer. I don't know where my honey is putting all of it since I haven't looked in the freezer myself. He just keeps hauling it out to the big freezer in the garage. I'm thinking about more sweet cornbread and another batch of buttermilk biscuits and then I think we'll have enough.

Next month will be strawberry freezer jam time. I'm looking to put up two cases each of the strawberry and then in August it will be peach.

My last check in before bed. I have a few things in the wash so they'll be fresh for the trip and DH has gone to never never land already. We'll leave just as soon as I get home from watching Gavin, some last minute items will have to wait until I get home. I talked to Rich tonight. He's a little nervous about all the arrangements, but not at all about his choice of mate, so I'm happy for that. It helps me look forward to the wedding, even if it's not the kind I would have picked for my dear son. DH is kind of glum, I think he's still mulling over the whole scenario and hasn't come to a conclusion of his thoughts yet. I hope he doesn't put a damper on the event. When I consider how we tried to make everybody happy (and that never works!) when we got married, maybe they have the right idea after all. Anyway, we have a 6 hour car ride to mull it over emoticon

We need permits for a front porch/deck too and it is a hassle ... we will need permits for out back deck but that is because it is 2 stories up .. sigh money and hassle.

saying good night ladies
my dil is working 3 days straight again so I am busy .. think the other house will have a for sale sign on it tomorrow

Lynn, your tree is beautiful. I hope it survives the cold. We still have some snow on the ground in places with no sun. I hope my tulips survive. Only one has blossomed with most with buds on them.

Marsha, I'm hoping your "me time" comes soon.

Jo, we had a record snowfall for April 15th. Just under one inch. (.9)

I have to say, my grass is really green and the color really shows up green in contrast to the white snow. Today a contractor came over to see about a new front porch. I'm not sure if we want to go through all of the permits needed to make the change.

Lynn -- Canada has the same -- kind of--- we pay our federal and provincial taxes together but it all goes to federal and they have to give the money to the provinces .. Ours are due April 30th ... I usually have to pay -- Like you I do not give a lot (LOL) do not want to give them money till I have to ...
Now (last few years) the people ---most ---- get rebates through out the year for HST ---we pay 13% Taxes on everything we buy -- everything--- so some in lower income brackets get a quarterly cheque back to help them .

--that is about it ..

LOL well it looked green like grass -our lawns are brown..

Jo, how does Canada pay taxes - what I mean is do you have a form of our IRS or do you have a flat tax or something to that affect? Our IRS is so beset with fraud and I'm wondering what Canada does. News reports today show that the IRS will collect 1.4 TRILLION in revenue and pay out 62 MILLION in bonuses in 2014. Something is seriously wrong with this picture!

Jo, I have to laugh at your comment about how green our grass is - we have the nicest weeds around. We use to work ourselves to death trying to have grass but finally gave up. Neighbors on either side let the crabgrass and weeds run wild and it travels to our yard so there was no point in our efforts. In addition, living up against a lot of woods, we fight a losing war against the moles which can destroy a yard in short order.

The cold is due in tonight so as we were coming up the driveway I snapped a picture of the tree on my iPhone. It's a beauty but let me say when it starts dropping all of those blooms which are tiny little petals, my yard looks like it has snowed pink. It goes everywhere!

Can Easter really be this Sunday?

Oh, Marsha. I feel your pain. You'll be singing that country classic, "How can I miss you when you never go away?" Hoping for a speedy recovery for your DH, and some well-deserved "me" time for you. Be careful driving, the nuts are out again.

Thanks Pat and Jo. Cataract surgery is a simple in and out procedure. The eye drops afterward can be a pain in the backside, particularly I think for men - three different drops 4xday.

Weather man called for 100% rain today and on the way home the skies opened up and torrential rain was coming down so hard the windshield wipers were just about useless even on high speed.

We have a freeze warning in effect for tonight. Yikes, there goes my Kwansen Cherry tree that's in full bloom. I took a picture just in case the blooms are dead by tomorrow. I'll post it, it's gorgeous.

We had a solid inch of snow this morning with some school delays, but Donovan was off on time. He is wearing a winter had and gloves too. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be even colder with hard frost warnings in effect.

Lynn, we did not need the AC last night, so a much better sleep was in store for last night. I made it until a couple of minutes before the alarm went off. I hope your husband's eyes improve with the surgery and that he is finished with the doctor's appointments.

Thanks everyone, hubby will be fine. I've had both of mine done and it's an easy fifteen minute surgery. Today's scan will be for ordering the correct ocular lens and his pre-op instructions. Now hubby gets to do the eye drop thing starting Monday - he's not going to like it.

I slept pretty good last night, had both the AC and the ceiling fan going. We are due for a cool down tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. It seems every year we go straight from winter to summer, temperature wise. It's either 40's or 80's - how about 60's and 70's for about six weeks.

Off to get ready, enjoy your day.

SNOW, SNOW AND MORE SNOW. I had to clear off the car before I could start for home tonight. My poor little tree had buds on it but I don't know if it will snap back after this. Sorry to hear of your ordeal, Marsha. Hope you can get a little respite for yourself. Hope all goes well for your DH, Lynn. I know he needs his eyes for the work he does.
Going to bed. Before I know I'll have to be back at the dental office and at work again.
Hugs,

Pat, I gave in and cut the AC on. I can't take another night like last night when it was 80 in the den and probably close to that in the bedroom. When hubby flipped the AC on it actuaaly came on and started cooling. The outside temp is cooler than inside but due to high pollen count I can't open the windows or my furniture will be covered in a yellow/green mess. I am sitting right beneath an AC vent and it feels glorious. I'd rather give up food than give up my AC👍.

Tomorrow is hubby's eye scan and pre-op instruction with cataract surgery next Wednesday. We'll be so glad when it and the follow up doctor visits are over.

Well ladies, I'm going to try and hit the bed a little early. Fingers crossed for a bit of sleep.

Wow, where did today go? Zumba this morning from 9:15 to 10:00, I was in the dentist chair from 11:15 to 12:30 having 2 old crowns removed and fitted for new crowns. I have a temp in for 2 weeks until the permanent one is ready. I did not sleep to well last night. It was hot in the house even with the window open. It was 73 this morning at 6:00 am. Too soon to turn on the air.

DB, for real, a blue jeans wedding. That is odd for sure. That should save you from spending money on a dress that you may have worn only once.

Jo, it's great when the baby goes down for a nap. Davis napped while I was at the dentist, and then this afternoon when I had to stay up because Donovan was getting off the bus soon.

hello ladies
Amelia is napping. time to spark.

Gee Lynn was your mom always like this?? or has it just been the later years?
My mom died when I was in my 20's so I have no experience with mom's who call.. and yell at me
I think I do that with my son--lol JK since we live together..
I sure wish we had the answers .. if after all these years she is the same I think there is no changing her... just grit the teeth and bare it.. sorry emoticon

My son got off work early and Ann and him are at the other house painting..
the people who lived there(ones taking care of my sister) -- did a lot of damage to the paint - the colours were wild anyway. Ann & Gord are painting them all neutral .. Hope they get finished today..

Everyone have a great day -- it is raining here but the temperature is not so bad -- warmish --lol.. not as nice as Saturday was..

My mother was such a sweetheart in that department. We would try to talk first thing in the morning before the day's activities started but she understood that anytime I could call was special. Can't change their attitudes, that's for sure.

Marsha, prayers your way. Glad hubby will be coming home - scary stuff.

I wish someone could answer this question besides the standard "that's how mothers are". At 60 years old, why does my mother treat me like a child who threw a temper tantrum when I don't call her every single day and gush over her and my father? Because I had not called her by 10 am this morning, she calls and demands to know what's wrong. I try to tell her nothing and she proceeds to berate me so I told her I was hanging up. I love this woman but there are times I don't like her very much! She sure can destroy a day and she doesn't mind telling you she doesn't care. I told her she hurts my feelings and she says "tough, I tell like it is"😳, what do I do with that? Compassion - my mother never heard of that word! Oh well, SSDD.

Trying to get my head on straight after a very crazy weekend. I babysat
GS Friday night through Saturday afternoon, came home to bake bread
and make chocolate pies to take to MIL's house Sunday for lunch.
DH had a very serious medical event just before midnight and I needed
to call the ambulance. After loading him up and taking him to the
hospital, getting all of his medical records in order, he was flown by
helicopter to the heart hospital. As head EMT, I got to call of the shots
and had the helicopter on standby. I did keep my cool and he will
come home today but I so need some time for me and it isn't going
to happen anytime soon.

Have a little orange juice, do some of the easy stuff around the house, and then take a nap. I know you don't feel like eating, but you don't want to screw up your glycemic index with a lot of up and down stuff. Some fruit sugars and some vegies ought to perk you up briefly. And naps are good. But do put something in your tummy, Lynn.
Hugs,
DB

Another night of roaming around the house all night. It is way to warm in the bedroom for me to sleep. Today was in the 80's and even with the ceiling fans spinning off the ceilings throughout the house it is still to warm for me. I would cut the AC on if I thought it would actually cut on but I'd have to set it fairly low for it to come on. Opening the windows is out of the question with the heavy pollen. So, it's another night of no sleep😱. I'm already exhausted and the day hasn't even started yet. Where is my 52 sleeping temp? The colder the bedroom, the better for me.

Hubby has a business meeting this morning and I had plans to make more biscotti but with no sleep, I'm not sure I'm up for fighting with that dough. I don't even feel much like eating.

I have little Gavin tomorrow during the day and then the dental office at night. We normally get paid on Thursday at the dental office, it would be nice if I got my check early so I have a little cushion for the trip, but I'm not holding my breath. DH came back from the hall early today so we hung out and had a brief visit with my Mom rather than me looking for a dress. I'm starting to get the feeling from my son that this may be a "bluejeans" wedding so I guess I shouldn't try so hard. The afghan I was making for his family room is completed so now I'm starting to rest easy. He's very proud of the mantle he made for the fireplace and all the woodworking projects and painting he's done around the house. I've started the "car" afghans for both mine and hubby's cars and am halfway through with the one for little Julie's car. Once I can figure out how to get the pictures from my phone on to the computer, I'll post them so you can see what I'm doing.
Time to sleep quick, sleep deep!
Hugs,
DB

hi gals

kids returned at 4:30 .. still not done painting.

Lynn and Pat --- I love pasta too ..When my sis lived with me we substituted spaghetti with squash spaghetti .. or when making lasagna we would use zucchini layers along with all the other veggies --- I liked it too... but have not had it that way since she lived with me....

wow you did some grass cutting Pat? our grass is still stubby and spotted --not greened up yet.

Lynn I think you are right about the weight ... so watching salt too.. thanks

Deb, we are staying at the Landmark from June 1-7. When are you going there? That would be funny if we ran into each other again.

DB, oh what a mess. I hope you can get all of that egg out of your backseat before it gets to stinking up the car.

Jo, even if we get snow on Tuesday, it will be less than an inch for sure. I have only one PT session next Thursday and the therapist thinks I am doing great. He'll send off a new report to my doctor after that evaluation. I was able to get the lawn mowed today with no knee problems. Whew! It was quite warm.

Lynn, you have great will power eating pasta only once a month. My husband has not been asking me to make pasta lately, so I don't make it .

Pat

Jo, I think when the scales bounce up and down like that and you know you've not over eaten, it is that hateful fluid retention monster rearing his ugly head. That's certainly what it is in my case. I have to watch my salt intake like a hawk.

I can bake all of that stuff because I'm not a sweet lover. The things I love like pasta I only fix once a month. If it's not in the house I can't fix it. But even with that said, I have had to make big changes in my eating to regain my good health - doctor's orders! Before I restarted this journey on Feb. 11th, I was struggling. I have felt and seen huge changes and hubby says he has seen it too. I continue to feel stronger each day and some issues have resolved with the weight loss and the new high protein low carbs/fat eating. I'm in charge and no longer at the mercy of my cravings which I no longer have - such a blessing!

well Lynn STS is better then a gain.. Today was an official start to eating more protein less carbs.. I WI last week at 123.6 today --127!!!
-this is also with me doing 3 days of 17,000 steps..

Now do I continue or go back to my old way of eating..?

One thing I do have is IBS... I know too much info.. but I have not gone to bathroom in 5 days ... so that might be the problem . I know I did not gain 4 lbs. in a week .. I was shocked to say the least with the number on the scale.. I thought for sure I would have at least a slight drop..

Guess I will continue what I am doing for another week to see what happens ..In the mean time if I have a BM maybe I will weigh in again.. nasty --lol..

Oooh, Deb, I love that show. That WOULD be a good place to spend the day scrounging around looking at all the stuff. BC (before children) my hubby and I liked to go antiquing and junking; we met a lot of interesting people that way, a lot of good stories. I suspect I'll have to succumb to making biscotti today, too. I came back from Aldi, the bags tipped over in the back seat, the eggs flew out of the carton, and I've got 5 cracked eggs that have to be used right away. #6 smeared all over the crack of the back seat and the seatbelt and really, everywhere. Like they say, one is not enough to make a cake, but just drop ONE, and you can hit every surface in your kitchen. I've gotten most of it blotted up, will wait for some to harden and scrape it off with a knife, then suds up the rest with dish soap and water.
I know what you mean about taking a couple of bites and then turning food over to the hub, Lynn. When I made a deliberate effort to avoid sugar, something in my taste buds changed. I did take a Fannie May turtle (they call 'em Pixies) but after a bite concluded it just didn't do it for me and handed the rest over to Mr. Bunny. It shocked him so bad he STILL tells the story. I have since managed to choke down a few (see weight meter below) but that whole experience of being INDIFFERENT to chocolate was an eye-opener.

DB, gosh, a mosquito already. The only things we saw outside yesterday were some bees (yellowjackets) flying under the front windows where they must have a nest. We'll have to get rid of them before they start making their way into the house. Good luck on the dress shopping.

Lynn, my husband makes very little at his part time seasonal job, but we still got caught up in paying state taxes. The federal worked itself out so that we did not have to pay or get a refund. Do you have city taxes? We do, but they always take out the exact 2.5% from his income only (not SS), so we are always okay there.

Another beautiful day set for today with highs near 80. Come Tuesday, that will be a very different story with snow predicted.

I think I will be out mowing the lawn today for the first time this year. Scotts Lawn Service has been out twice already this year and the grass is looking great.

Hi, we got our internet and satalite all fixex. It was in really bad shape! Been trying to stay busy and this weather has been beautiful! Although today is a little chillier.
DB how wonderful,a wedding! Sorry it was on such short notice but try and have fun!
Pat we are going to Myrtle Beach in June also.
Lynn all that baking!Goodness! I thought you said your freezer was full! Lol!
Jo hope you don't get the snow that is predicted, e are just suppose to have a few cool days then back to the warm weather.
We had our taxes done in February and had them back by March, nice not having to pay in any more.
Was planning on going to antique archeology (American Pickers) place today but kind of a icky day to go so not sure if we will.
Off to spin my wheel, have a great day.

DB, congrats on the tax refund. I can count on one hand the times we've gotten any type of a refund. I thought that might change with hubby on SS but no such luck there either. Being self employed and having to pay estimated quarterly taxes on what you think you might make can be tricky. I've never wanted to pay in to much because I don't want the government having my money. Now with SS, you can't make but a certain amount and if you do, of course you are going to pay a PENALTY. So far we have lucked out on that but what gets us is the "self employment tax". Yes indeed, let the government screw the small business owner! Because if you remember this idiot president said "we didn't build that" - the government did. Well, I can honestly say I never saw a government person go up a ladder or stand on scaffolding beside my hubby hanging and nailing crown moulding on a thirteen foot ceiling.🔨

Another weigh in, another STS😱. I shall never surrender! Maybe I should eat some of my baked goods, maybe I need a kick in the butt - something to push through this plateau. It's a funny thing, I have no desire to eat any of what I bake. I actually figured into my numbers one of my biscuits the other night. I took two bites and gave the rest to hubby. I can't say I got any enjoyment from it. It was very good but in my mind I thought why am I eating this? I didn't really want it. And there sits four dozen biscotti I made and I haven't touched one.

☀️Another beautiful sunny and warm day on tap, already 61.2. We are due for a big cool down the middle of the week. Temps to drop back into the upper 40's for a day time high before returning back to the 60's.

Good job on the yard work, Pat! Your yard will look so much better and it gives you such a feeling of accomplishment. I particularly like pruning our tree out in front, it makes the main branches that much stronger and the tree looks nice and full. It actually hit 80* here today, but the weather map says it's only 46* in Waukegan and the cold air is headed south our way. And yes, there were golf ball sized hailstones in the northern suburbs this morning and the forecast for Monday calls for 31* and MORE SNOW. Craziest weather year ever. And while I was enjoying the mild weather outside, crocheting in a chair on the front porch, a MOSQUITO landed on me!

DH has a meeting at the Union hall tomorrow morning so I'll go to church and then hit the mall to look around for an outfit for the wedding. I just have to stay away from Michael's (craft store) so I don't bring home any more yarn. It's getting to the point where I should have Lynn's hubby make a storage cubby for all my yarn, although it IS all earmarked for specific projects. One of our patients turned me on to "Ravelry" which is a knitting, crochet, and needlework website. And the members offer each other their extra yarn or yarn at a discount or trade. The only hard part for me was picking a name for myself and a password, of course. There are so many things that require a log-in ID name and special password it's a wonder I remember them all.
Sweet dreams everyone!
DB

PS. Good news at the tax man's today. We got a little refund back for both the federal and the state!

Jo, a beautiful day here too. Hubby and I just spent the past 4 hours raking, lopping off dead branches and mulching. It certainly makes drinking water a piece of cake.
