My diabetes isn't my problem. I watch my diet and eat sensibly. My problem is finding exercises I can do in my home. I can no longer drive and live in an area without public transportation. Most exercises require me to stand and have balance. The seated cardio video on sparks was great but I am looking for more variety to get in better shape. Recently there was a seated yoga video that helped as well. I need more videos like these.
If you haven't already, read the book "The Diabetes Solution" by Richard Bernstein M.D. He has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 12 and he is a healthy 78 now, even though he was told he wouldn't live past 42 because of complications. He follows a low carb diet. He sees 95% of his patients with Type 2 diabetes and that is where he helps them slim down. He has lectures on YouTube, so do listen to him.

I have had a stroke and am a diabetic. Most of the exercises are very difficult if not impossible for me to do. Weight loss is very important to me, but I need to exercise to lose weight in any significant amount. I am a diabetic but my A1c is good and not a problem. I could decrease my insulin if I could just lose weight!
