yeah, definitely report these posts. Those people get removed pretty quickly. There was one guy on here awhile back who was REALLY sneaky, but he was caught in a pretty short amount of time, too.

Scam artists are everywhere, sadly.

I've noticed something on a few boards that I've visited here on SP and it's people becoming SP "members" to sell weight loss products. Some have been very overt about it by putting links to their products in their posts. But I found a guy today who started a challenge and when I noticed that he had only 2 posts, I decided to check out his SparkPage that had no information but it did have photos. So I checked them out and most of them were motivational sayings, but one was taken from SP showing before and after pictures with a caption that said something like "You can look like this. Ask me how."
I get that someone trying to prey on vulnerable people looking for a "quick fix" would see that SP is a great marketing tool. Afterall, it's free and there are so many posters that there is no way that scams like this could be monitored. It just angers me because many people who come to this site are in a desperate mindset. They have tried so many weight loss programs, only to lose weight and regain it plus more. Many have already succumbed to more than one "quick fix" weight loss product.
SP should be a safe, non-judgmental place where men and women who are trying to live a healthier lifestyle can come to support, encourage and inform each other. If someone tries a weight loss method that works for them, it's great to share that information with the disclaimer that not every program works for every person. But when someone is trying nothing more than to make money or increase their own business off SP members, it seems sleazy.
Just wanted to vent about this.
