Don't give in, keep doing what you can do each day. You will be surprised how soon you will get back to where you were. emoticon

try to start walking a little every day. You will soon build up time. I also do some of the seated exercises in the video. There are several of them. They are not too hard and you can do them at your own pace.

Work on getting off those pounds. I'm reading Richard Bernstein MD's "The Diabetes Diet" as he says ALL obese people have INSULIN RESISTANCE, and I know I do. He has lectures on YouTube. He treats Type 2 diabetes, but he has Type 1 and he is a healthy 78 now from following a Low Carb diet. I recommend reading his book "The Diabetes Solution" even if you don't have a blood sugar problem.

Thank you for responding. I do walk my dog around the block as many times as I can and I also walk in my home. I don't drive so getting around is a little harder for me. I am going to order one of the mini bikes and see how that works for me. I am trying to get some yard work done and that is also hard for me because bending over is hard on the breathing when I am so overweight. I am working on it and am determined to lose this weight so I feel better and look better. I will keep posting as my journey continues.

Have you ever used an exercise ergometer, "walking" with the hands? There is one at the gym, which I used after getting completely deconditioned from a major accident. It started the "aerobicizing" process to get my heart and lungs functioning again.

Another early practice after the accident was to walk in the supermarket. I would go up and down one aisle and then the next. The supermarket has chairs where people sit and eat snack food, so there was always a chair close by. It helped that the lighting was good, and that the aisles were wide and flat. I could also use the shopping cart for support if I needed it, without making my condition too socially obvious.

A third early practice was water exercise in a warm pool. There was a class run by a PT trained in reconditioning practice.

Hope these ideas "spark" a new idea for you.

Good luck and best wishes.

I have COPD with asthma and this causes me to have back and neck problems when I get really short of breath. It is so depressing when you try to do things but have to go so slow and I want to get back to my 45 minutes slow walks a day and at least 30 minutes 3 times a week of strength and dumbbell workouts. I had pneumonia last year and it has been a struggle since.
