Bless your heart. I felt so bad for you when I read your post - but I hear the determination in your words about getting back into the swing of things. I am in menopause as well and can certainly relate to the hot flashes and some of the health issues - AND the fatigue. There are days that I don't feel like getting out of bed - but like you - I force myself. I also have digestive issues and swelling in my feet and ankles and calves at times. Im fighting fibromyalgia and high blood pressure and am medications for them as well. I am not taking anything for the hot flashes because my Doctor prescribed Premarin and from all the things I've heard, Im not thinking I want to take it.
I am an AVID walker - having walked for over a year and a half now. I started like you - with baby steps and have worked myself up to almost ten miles over the course of a day - everyday. I'm not telling you this to make you feel like you're not accomplishing anything - quite the opposite! I'm telling you this because if I can do this - YOU CAN DO THIS! We all have to start somewhere and just the desire to do it is half the battle! I believe in you and your conviction and know that once you get going you'll go great.
Be positive and just do the best you can and remember that every step you take is a step towards the goal line. You WILL get there!
