Relief with the weather today. Dew point is way down and temps are going to be cooler. I finished my laundry yesterday and did a lot of misc. chores around the house. Today is a bad breathing day to start with so will see what I get done. I did walk yesterday and hope to be able to walk today. Time will tell. My one dog gets her teeth cleaned today so she is sitting and looking at me wondering why I won't feed her. Poor baby. Well, off to get a shower and see if I can get to feeling better. Have a good day.

Yesterday was a good day. I walked for a little and did 2 loads of laundry and got them folded and put away. I also did some vacuuming. Today I hope to finish the last of the laundry. My dogs got their hair cuts and they look so cute and cool again. Today will be hot, humid and then maybe stormy this afternoon. We will then cool down again for a few days. Hope you all have a good day.

The house is beautiful. They will love living in it. She has almost everything put away already and things are put where they belong.

I think that maybe my little day care guy wanted to share with me so Mom indulged him without thinking. He was such a cute little one and is now a very nice young boy. Very thoughtful.

maybe it was sabotage or thoughtlessness my husband's sister always taunted me about my figure so I feel its some old grudge oh well who cares I have gone beyond that avoid them as much as possible

That is a good question and I have no answer to it. I know the day care mom that used to bring me the candy and goodies would not eat them herself so why did she think I would want them when she knew I was trying to lose weight. Go figure.

NASFKAB, I can relate to visitors bringing outrageously high calorie goodies as gifts. Also had family that mailed goodies for gifts. I had a hard time convincing them not to do this. I needed to lose weight for my health and they did not seem to understand. I told them if they did not take the goodies along home,they would go into the garbage pail and that did it. It is amazing how other people seem to sabotage your plans even though they mean well Being frank and sticking to your guns is a must. Best wishes to you for success.

Had another good day yesterday. I did some stuff outside and then got 2 loads of laundry done. It was a nice cool day with low humidity and a nice breeze. Today we might have some rain so will try get things done early.

Worked in the back lot this weekend. Two days of clearing brush and trimming trees is better than going to the gym. I can see progress, and the weather was between 95 and 102 F. Better than a sauna. Makes it easy to drink 8 cups of water.

late last night my 3 nephews & niece arrived to see me in Queens NY, they came from a family reunion on their father's side in Pittsburgh PA, waiting for them to wake up to speak to them they are the children of my only sister who passed away 7 years ago

I spend a lot of my shopping time in the produce department and love that area. I had a day care mom that always used to bring me cookies and candy and I would end up giving it away or I sometimes even had to throw it away. I just couldn't get it through her head that I didn't need the sweets, Enjoy the weekend.

I remember had invited some friends for dinner & one of them brought very rich sweets after the dinner I begged her to take them home it may have been very rude but my being well is much more important to me

I can control what I have at home, but unfortunately I can't control what is available at my work. My only defense is to not go into the room where all the goodies are. One person brings me a whole box of donuts every so often. I have to call someone and re-gift them ASAP.

I believe being healthy and thinner starts at the Super Market. If we learn to stay away from the "bad foods" and bring home what we know is good for our body, we cannot fail. Half the battle is having a house that is set up for success.

You are so right. I don't like to shop on an empty stomach because I seem to want all the things that are not good for us when I am hungry. I am glad I have a list that follows the setup of the store and that doesn't take me into the candy or chip section. Have a good day,

Well it was easy to find the "scale" I think they call it something else. I also found a nice picture of tulips and you can put a saying after your messages. Nice.

The dentist was just fine. I just had my teeth cleaned and polished. I do not know how I got the scale on my posts. I must have checked a box somewhere to do it but I sure don't know where.

Hi,
I am 72 and still struggling to get to my goal and stay there. I lost 105lbs but that was ten years ago. I have thankfully never gained back more than 12lbs until recently. I have been feeling sorry for myself due to a lot of osteo pain and torn rotator cuff. Now I must lose 25lbs to get back to my goal plus lose another 7 according to my doctor. I think we can give credit where it is due. We are still trying and won't give up. Best of luck to you and to all who are still in the game.

We had a nice little rain early this morning and it was very needed. I have a dentist appointment today and am not looking forward to having to go. I have a load of laundry to do when I get home and then I will try get some light cleaning done.

Over 70, worried about losing. It is very slow--and since exercise is hard (due to pain) it is even slower. That, however, is NOT an excuse to give up trying :-)

Yesterday was a good day. Got out and did some things I wanted to do in the yard and hope today is good or better than yesterday. I need to clean some bird baths and refill them and I have one more shepherd hook to put up and feeders to fill. Another lovely day and supposed to last till Wednesday and then we are supposed to have 3 days with chances of rain showers. Hope we do get some this time. Have a good day.

I love oatmeal and make it quite often in the cooler months. I add cinnamon and fruit to my oatmeal. I also sweeten with a sugar free pancake syrup. Have a good day.

Dear IWILLBEWELLTOO:
Look into Quick Quaker Oats. I really like it -- I use the 1c water to 1/2C oats. I measure the water out and add a 1/4C (compressed) raisins and two packs of Serta. In the morning the raisins are swollen. It takes two minutes for water to boil, and 1 to 2 minutes to make. No sodium, lots of fiber. I eat mine with no milk etc.

I need to get better about reading contents on foods that can contain hidden sugar such as breakfast cereal. They also may have a lot more salt than than you would expect.

I try to stay within my limits or recommended sugar and fats and sodium per day. Sometimes it doesn't happen but I don't let it bother me if I happen to go over once in a while. There is a lot of hidden sugar in foods.

I read somewhere that sugar triggers your body to save fat. If you think back to the cave man days, you needed to put on weight during the summer to make it through the winter when food was scarce. Most fruit and berries are ripe in the summer so that could part of that cycle. It could be true.

Yes I can lose weight when eating sugar as long as I keep it to a very small amount. Moderation is the key.
