MY outer thighs did in the beginning. I send my son to a PT and when I addressed it with him he said it was muscle use, nothing serious but to stretch well before and after walking. You have to stretch...I used to just get on that treadmill and walk. Wrong. Please think of the muscles you're using....they need a warm up dear.

You need to see a podiatrist and have your gait checked. You could be either over or under pronating. Orthotics may help correct your gait and eliminate your pain. Good Luck.

Oh I felt it alright!!!....I had to stop walking several times....felt severe pulling, cramping, pain, etc...from the top of the left hip to just above the outer left thigh starting about 10 minutes into the walk. Sounds silly but I found a way to favor another direction and after about a week, it finally resolved. I did a lot of stretching and just kept walking. Out of shape and had to build up to it! Don 't give up!!!

If you are having pain you may need to do some core and back exercises. I went to physical therapy and that is what they had me do.

Pain or soreness? If you are beginning an exercise program, it's common to feel soreness - sometimes bordering on pain - and it goes away with time as your body adapts to the workout. If you are not a beginner and you are feeling pain, it's a good idea to have it checked out by a doctor.

Thanks, Tatter. At least I know someone else gets that. I hope it improves for you. Anni

I don't know what it is, but I've experienced it several times this week. Last walk ended in me doing extreme stretches before I could go to the car. Feel like my leg's going to fall off..LOL. Keep Sparkin'!!

I seem to walk OK for about ten minutes and then outer thighs begin to hurt. Does anybody experience that or know what causes it?
