I was born in April 1960. I recall a lot of playing outside, both summer and winter. I was always very thin as a child. Once I hit 35-40 I had a hard time losing weight and it only got harder. I wish I had kept on top of it more so I wouldn't be in this spot now. But I am grateful to have found this community!

December 1960 here... when the #1 song in the USA was "Are You Lonesome Tonight " by Elvis Presley.
"Ring the bells that still can ring, forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in." ~ Leonard Cohen, "Anthem"

I'm glad to see somebody keeping the 1960 thread going. My two cents: Boy it's harder to lose weight the older I get.

Born in January. Just getting started here, but I already love Sparkpeople. I had done a weight management program at our local hospital and was dreading the end. This has provided a way of accountability and more that I need. I am working on blood sugar numbers and a lot of weight to lose. God has revealed to me this is a process so I am trying to be patient with myself. It is not really day one but each day is a new day and God's mercy and grace are new every morning!

My ex was also born in 1960. Childhood sweethearts married 30 years, but stuff happens and we move on. I have found a wonderful person and I hope to be married for another 30 years.

Hi Dee & John, Dee, both my wife and I have lost someone to cancer. I hate to say it, but I think the majority of us have. It's a shame. John, I feel your pain. I married my high school sweetheart. Married 26 years, lived together 30 years had two wonderful kids. It was not easy to move on, but I did and I'm a better person for it. I now remarried to a great gal and we are determined to get healthy. I'm retired and she retires in two years. We plan on traveling and having fun together for next 30 years.
