A great way to improve your balance is exercising on a mini trampoline. Check it out, it is not expensive and there are many benefits to bouncing or rebounding.

Google "functional exercises." They are great for balance.

Check your local library for DVDs of both Tai Chi and yoga. There are also some workout videos on SP that might help.

A few simple exercises to try would be: walking backwards, balancing on one leg (try to work up to 90 seconds, gradually), squats, getting up from a chair without using your arms.

Good luck - you're smart to focus on balance, as it's an overlooked issue for so many of us and absolutely critical.

I was having some issues and found that yoga helps. Also have been doing some lower body strength exercises like squats. And wii fit balance games. Something is helping

Tai Chi & Yoga. I used beginner introduction I found for free on line and on demand.
once I knew I'd stick to it I researched and bought more advanced Dvds.

I have improved my balance with yoga and with a BOSU.

Does anyone have any exercise tips on how to improve your balance? I know tai chi helps but unfortunately I can't afford a class right now. Perhaps someone has had balance issues and found simple moves that help. Thanks so much!
