I am an 8 year survivor of breast cancer, so I am here to tell you, it can be treated and beaten! You may not feel like a survivor yet, but you are.
You are in one of the worst stretches right now, having the diagnosis, but awaiting the surgery which will tell you and your doctors so much about your cancer and what it is doing. It gets much less terrifying after the surgery and your doctor can tell you specifics of stage and type, and make a treatment plan. Hang in there!
I too have lost family members in the last ten years, two brothers to cancer (colon and myeloma), a SIL to ovarian cancer, mom to heart disease, and dad died in his sleep. It just wears you down, doesn't it?
Let me know if you want to hear more of my story; I know we are each unique, but this path is easier when shared.
(actually, I had two unrelated cancers at the same time, so I also survived colon cancer. Weird and rare.)
I'm on the Don't Eat Crap nutrition plan.
I'm smarter than a bag of chips! Faster than a maple bar! Stronger than a box of chocolates!
