I'm gettting Garcinia Cambogia today at either Rite Aid or Walmart. They sell it for 14.99 at Rite Aid and 9.99 at Walmart for 100 pills. It is recommended, however, to take 4 pills 3 times a day. So, in the end you are still paying GNC prices, but I thought this is a good way to try it out and see if it works- before paying $40.00 up front. Good luck! emoticon

Dieting sucks.
It tends to lead to cravings… and hunger.
This generally causes people to give up on their diet and gain the weight back.
For this reason, most conventional weight loss methods have a terrible success rate. Very few people succeed in the long run.
This is where a popular weight loss supplement called Garcinia Cambogia extract steps in.
According to many health experts, it can reduce appetite and help you lose weight, pretty much without effort.
Even Dr. Oz has been touting the benefits of it. He is an American TV doctor and probably the most famous health “guru” in the world.
Last year, Dr. Oz featured Garcinia Cambogia on his show.
He seemed very excited about it… he even used the word magic and said that it might be “the most exciting breakthrough in natural weight loss to date”

I dropped weight fell off my work out schedule and packed on 20 lbs. Now I am stuck in the middle of the most aggravating plateuas ever. I have tried CLA, and GNC's Burn 60, combined with no real change. Have added Rasperberry Ketones now, considering trying HCA Garcinia Cambogia as a way to maybe shift off the beeping rut I am stuck in

Hi! Are you a coffee drinker? I started distributing Javita tea and coffee few months back. I'll have stocks available next week and you might be interested or you have friends who might be interested. It's an all natural coffee and tea from the US that suppresses appetite, burn calories and gives energy. You'll notice the difference in around 7 days but full effect if taken regularly. You can add sugar and cream. Best thing is, no laxative effect
Active ingredient nya is the herb Garcinia Cambogia and Yerba Matte endorsed by Dr.Oz and Oprah herself You dont need to change your lifestyle just your tea and coffee but ofcourse faster weight loss with exercise
If you know someone who might be interested, let me know! Thanks! Have a great day!

Been using CG for about a month. Love it! Because my appetite is practically non-existent, I often don't eat after taking a capsule. Does anyone know if there are bad side-effects to taking a pill and not eating or what happens? Thanks!

when it comes to dr oz try a little experiment sit down watching his show for a month write down all the vitamins and supplements he recommends for being healthy. if you took them all you would be taking pills all day long and try to keep track of what pill what time with what? it is all tooo much, eat healthy mostly whole foods exercise the way you like the way that makes you feel good about yourself, and have a positive outlook, like the way you are knowing changes are coming to you.

my 2 daughters and I tried several brands of gc we have taken it for about 3 months we work out and watch our food intake. our results are we wasted our money. no weight loss except what is normal for our workouts and diet.
I heard that the pills with calcium don't work as it interfers with the gc and most include calcium.
be careful adding raspberry keytones there are reports it actually can cause diabetes. it is a high amount of raspberries.

I bought a bottle at GNC for about $40. It worked pretty well for me, too. My appetite did decrease and I lost about 10 pounds. It's just too expensive for me and now I'm trying to do it without supplements.

The only "diet" that works is consistency!

A friend and I both tried GC for one month. Both of us felt decreased appetite, but did not lose much weight. A 3rd friend's local news did a study and found no great results. This is supposed to be an inexpensive supplement to produce and some people are paying exhorbitant prices for it. Perhaps the greatest loss is in your wallet.

Hello,

I am new to sparkpeople and I hope by talking to others with similar issues may help me. In my family and friends I am the only one with weight problems. I ordered now GC and I am excited to try it. I have 2 things against me 1) just quit smoking and 2) age and perhaps early onset menopause. Not sure yet on that last one. I would like to hear from people that have perhaps used GC for a longer time and how helpful or not it was. Is the tracker helpful?

Thank you.

It does control your blood sugar - is this good or bad? I cannot say.

Some people do really well, some do not.

Dr Oz really is a doctor - I googled and checked out his credentials - but even doctors seldom agree on anything.

Well it's always great to hear about the success of a weight loss aid, but over the long term, "not having time for exercise" is folly. The human body is built to MOVE...and without the balance of a healthy diet and movement for your heart, muscles, joints, lungs and other functions, your overall health and long term weight maintenance is not well-served ... regardless of the short term effectiveness of any pill, herbal or otherwise.

Touche! Congratulations on your very significant weight loss, and the common sense tenacity that accounts for it.

I've tried GC - got a free "trial" bottle and am just at the end of it. Not sure if it's made any difference at all. But without it, I lost 55 pounds since mid-March 2013-- through a firm commitment to reduced portions and caloric/fat intake (weighing, measuring and tracking everything) and exercise (on average, 4-5 days a week, balancing cardio, strength and flexibilty) and adhered to religiously. I've eaten most of the things that I like (I don't eat meat or chicken, but ate a lot of carefully prepared and controlled pasta, pizza, MSF burgers, etc.), I've "traded off" during holidays and thoroughly enjoyed them along with everyone else. I feel strong and healthy, and have reduced my original target down by 10 pounds. I've got just about three to go, but am within my 'maintenance fluctuation' range.

So I suspect that GC is just another open drain for my money...but will continue to monitor the consensus on it once the "fad furor" has died down. In the meantime, this "supplement" s no substitute for intake control and regular, consistent exercise -- whether for healthy weight loss or maintenance.

My two cents.

Best,
Linda

I gave up on finding a miracle cure for weight loss... I seriously tried everything on the market... in the end it came down to loving myself enough to say no to bad foods, too much food and not enough movement. It comes down to choices, not miracles. Choose you.

Since that day I have shed 130 lbs and kept it off.

I never tried this, but have tried other herbal weight loss supplements in the past. None ever worked and was a waste of money.. at my highest weight I was desperate to find a magic pill and tried many, even HCG for a month. I stopped taking weight loss products after reading about the dangers and side effects of many. Save your money. If a weight loss pill really worked, what are there so many new ones making the same promises? Dr. Oz has become a pill pusher-something he never would condone on earlier shows before taking over Oprahs time slot.

Mmmm...weight loss products...I've tried countless products. I am finally convinced the best product is....a good eating plan! I have listened to dr voodoo here, dr voodoo there and have wasted so much money on these products believing them because they are a Dr. Well, the only truthful product any dr has ever promoted that works is a good eating plan. You do have to find one that works for you cause its not "one size fits all". This web site is the best "product" I'll ever invest in. This is working for me. Yeah, I have my good days and I have my bad, but I learn from each one.

The safety of Garcinia Cambogia has not been documented as yet because it is a natural product so one must be careful to follow the directions for the amount of dosage.

Some of the possible side effects are nausea, digestive tract discomfort, and headache.
Long term safety is unknown but Garcinia is possibly safe for most people when used for
12 weeks or less.

Garcinia Cambogia is the best weight loss supplement available on the market today. It helps burn fat, suppress appetite, enhance mood, and the reason that some people don't seem to lose weight is because they've gained muscle. But remember that muscle, in turn, helps to burn fat and the more muscle you have, the more fat you will continue to burn. So stay with the supplements to reach your weight loss goals.

Looks like many of you are having results with Garcinia Cambogia.

Garcinia Cambogia aid in weight loss by blocking the carbohydrates absoroption in the body and suppress appeite so you take lesser which in turns limit the options for your meals. So you have to eat the correct diet especially those that helps to burn fats or boost metabolism.

Sometimes people found themselves to have lost in inches but not the weight, this is because Garcinia Cambogia helps in building lean muscle so they lose the fats, but definitely increased in muscle, that's why they didn't drop any weight.

I have been taking GC and love the results. I'm more energized then ever before and sleep better at night. My hunger is suppressed and I'm not thinking of food all day. I have noticed some weight difference but nothing outstanding. Even though I haven't noticed a significant weight loss, I have noticed a change in my body shape. Either way I would still take it for the energy boost and appetite suppressant.

Here's my take on this subject: I don't eat junk or overeat because I'm hungry. An appetite suppressant is not what I need to help me reach my goal(s). I eat junk and overeat or binge because I'm bored or restless or angry or sad or frustrated or stressed or afraid that the food I want will suddenly disappear and never be available to me again so I must eat as much as possible immediately. That said, you know what does suppress my appetite, truly?....chia seeds, especially if they are soaked. I also don't have too much of a problem if I eat 3 well-balanced, planned, home-cooked (home prepared), whole-food meals a day and avoid alcohol.

Don't give up. Believe in yourself.

I have just started with Spark People (this is my first post), I did Weight Watchers too and lost 15lbs then decided to go on my own until I found this site. I am definitely enjoying this site a lot more. Garcinia Cambogia is also something I started and stopped, I didn't take it long enough to see if it really was helping with my weight loss but I just felt better- less stressed and more calm. I have noticed it does suppress my appetite, however now I noticed I am not eating enough so will watch that. I am going to continue taking it. Good luck all.

Like I said before, all I know is that the garcinia is working for me in helping with my blood sugar, seratonin and general overall well-being. I am not losing on it and I agree that if it is being taken for just weight loss, it is not the miracle cure it is purported to be. But the side effects are helping me so much that I know it is what I need to take.

I use a pendulum or muscle testing to determine if I should take a vitamin, mineral, herb or what - my body lets me know if it feels it needs whatever product I offer it - or not. And it hasn't lied to me since I started doing the testing. My body likes the garcinia. As I also take two heart pills, it has told me not to take any aspirin, and so far, I'm doing great. I may listen to Dr. Oz, but to follow what he recommends blindly is nothing I would ever do regardless of who he is. I have also been going to a holistic doctor for many years - lately he prescribed that I take coidal (?) silver - the supposed cure-all for everything that ails you - I checked it with the pendulum and read the pros and cons on line, and couldn't wait to take the stuff back for a refund as it would have really messed me up. So, if a person can listen to a suggestion and make their own decision, then they should be okay. Garcinia will not hurt you unless you take way more than suggested - even then, not sure what it would do but I am not about to try to find out. But my body likes it and is responding well to it so I am satisfied. What's good for me may not necessarily be good for someone else so I don't recommend. I'm Just stating what is going on with my body. I'm not losing but I am also not gaining - and that makes me happy. At my age (77), as long as I feel good I am happy with what I am doing. Exercise is not a priority for me right now until my groin pain feels better.

"Hi I don't think Dr Oz endorses products without any proof of its credibility, I am sure he does his homework so to speak because he knows there are lots of people out there waiting to hang him especially as he is on International TV.."

AQUAMAGIC, he does. He has been caught out a NUMBER of times endorsing products with little to no evidence that they work. Him being on international TV is meaningless. I'll repost the article I posted earlier about him, since you didn't apparently read it. It explains this in excruciating detail; even people who used to support him say they wouldn't trust him with their health, period. He's been criticized many times by many professionals for his endorsement of things that have little to no credible scientific evidence behind them.

If you are exercising, eating a calorie-restricted diet, then that's why you're losing weight. Not these snake oil pills.

I'll quote so you don't even have to read it.

"The miracle cure isn’t really a miracle at all. It’s not even new. Garcinia cambogia has been studied as a weight-loss aid for more than 15 years. A 1998 randomized controlled trial looked at the effects of garcinia as a potential “antiobesity agent” in 135 people. The conclusion: The pills were no better than placebo for weight and fat loss."

Still think he couldn't possibly recommend something unsafe?

"Oz, Charlap noted, has also encouraged people to take two baby aspirin every night before bed to prevent heart attacks. For people at high risk for coronary heart disease, the authoritative U.S. Preventive Services Task Force would agree with him. But for healthy and older folks, aspirin can have damaging side effects—including bleeding ulcers—which are well-documented and may outweigh any potential benefits. Aspirin can also hurt patients who are on anti-coagulants or who have a history of gastric or stomach ulcers, a warning Oz does not mention on his show. An exasperated Charlap asked: “Where is the ‘first, do no harm’ when he does something like that?"

And this article, in the New Yorker, that explains how he is hurting more than he is helping. He always claims he isn't endorsing anything, which is how he covers his own ass to prevent people from suing him. He's still touting everything about them, even when the science just isn't there.

People who are on TV are not automatically trustworthy. That kind of thinking can be dangerous, and I suggest that you start researching independently, instead of trusting a man who is little more than a corporate shill for the latest weight loss fad. He'll sell what gets him on the covers of magazines, guests on his shows, and keep his ratings up. No more, no less.

I've been taking it now for about 2-3 weeks - lost some weight, but the appetite came back and even with the raspberry extract, I still get hungry. But what I am experiencing with it is my blood sugar has gone down to totally normal - around 99-100 - my LDL and good cholesterol are all perfect and I sleep so much better - never any problem staying asleep. It is supposed to help the seratonin in the brain and I know I feel so much more at peace with myself so even if I don't lose weight, I am so much more comfortable with my body that I will continue to take it regardless. They promised to send me free stuff, but it never came, so the company refunded all the money I paid for the product I did get and are still sending me more freebies - I take the capsules, not liquid. So, I am very happy with my purchase.

Hi, I was reading all of your comments about CG and how well its working and I am very happy for you. My husband and I both tried it, I had no results whatsoever, but my husband loved it for appetite control. Not really sure on weight loss as he didn't weigh himself. Now I also have lupus so I don't. Know if the inflammatory factor has something to do with why it didn't work for me? Also be careful ordering on line. When they call you back to take your order they try "giving you " all kinds off free stuff that's not really free, and the GC is liquid not pills, which according to my husband doesn't work the same. Again congrats!

My husband tried it. The 1st week he lost 7 lbs but never lost anything again. We returned it and got a refund as promised.

I started taking this a couple weeks ago and so far have lost about 7 lbs - my weight has bounced around as I celebrated my son's birthday and went out to eat a couple other times. I have had bad pains in my groin so walking has been non-existent - barely able to get to the car or walk around my little house. I take the Trusted Nutrients brand of the garcinia that I bought through Amazon.com, along with raspberry extract to help with the appetite - one of each three times/day. Only time I get really hungry is between lunch and dinner, and the company suggested I take 2 garcinia pills before dinner. I sleep so much better, my blood sugar is perfect - around 100 - it helps increase the seratonin so I am more content, it is also supposed to help lower the LDL and raise the good cholesterol - among other things. I am very happy with this, but know that it works for some people and not for others. There are no side effects unless you go overboard with the pills.

Oh yes. I am also diabetic and I did notice one low blood suger that woke me up this morning. If I am eating less then this means I need to watch and moniter my sugers better. I may need to reduce the nighttime insulin as well. I don't think thats altogeather a bad thing :)

I started taking this supplement, not the one through DR Oz's show but another my mom gave me. Nature's Plus, Citrimas 1000 mg. It has 150 mg of calcium and 1000 mg of Garcinia (standerized 50% (500 mg) Hydroxycitrae extract)

Okay, I weighed in at the dr's roughly 1 month ago at 349. My mom a couple days before had called raving about the Dr OZ show etc etc and she was buying this product. I was yes Mom, go ahead and try it Mom. She surprised me and bought me the Citrimax Natures Plus brand from the local health food store. I decided to try it, taking only 1 a day as supplement as this bottle states. Sometimes before meals, after, half forgotten taking it late in the day etc.

Okay here is why I relogged onto sparkpeople.
As of this past Tuesday I weighed at 333lbs. I will vouch for apetite control, and personaly I have had -0- side effects. no headaches, no stomach issues, nothing that I really noticed at all other then my bowel movements are a lot more regular.
I am currently very housebound with a back injury so excersise is completly out right now, wheelchair or walker when I go out and if its more then say 100 feet it is the wheelchair for sure.
I do feel fuller a lot faster, I have also caught myself eating and pausing, thinking of how full I was and was I eating because I had the ffood or because it tasted good.
So here is whats working so far for me, and I will be doing my best to keep updating changes(good or bad) as I get a chance.

Today I took the leap and ordered Garcinia Cambogia off amazon. I'm so anxious for it to get here. I hope it works. I have low thyroid that makes my metabolism slow, makes me tired and hard to loose weight.

Hiya..I'd have to find the link and watch the episode again to be sure, but I am fairly certain that in episode three (his episode on garcinia is posted as part 1 2 & 3), at the Q & A with the crowd at the end, Dr Oz says it isnt recomemended for anyone with diabetes for that very reason - makes your blood sugars go too low.

If it is meant to be it is up to me!

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Thanks. I go to both my primary physician and my endocrinologist every 3 months, and my cardiologist every year due to some former heart, diabetes and thyroid problems that have been healed. I know they feel my obesity is a worse danger to me than the supplements - I still have over 150 lbs. to lose. I take other vitamins, etc., as I feel necessary, and so far, I am doing fine. The raspberry ketones not only cut the appetite but give you extra energy. I can't believe how much better I feel. Now if I could just get over the chronic pain in my groin area, I would be in great condition.

way to go Kathleen...good on ya as they say down under. I also feel positive about the Garcinia especially...I don't like Caffeine supplements myself, but if you can handle it, don't see why not...do keep going to your docs for regular 3 monthly check-ups at least to make sure all the supplements are not causing any side effects with blood pressure, increased heart beat etc which caffeine supplements can cause I hear...keep us posted. For energy, have you tried the COQ10 or talk to your doc about it because it is meant to increase energy and as we age we don't make enough of it so supplementing with it might help.

I started taking the garcinia and green coffee extract a week ago today. I got an order of another brand and the raspberry ketones on Friday from Amazon and yesterday started taking the new brand along with both the green coffee and raspberry extract pills. As of today, I have lost almost 7 lbs and my waist measurements have gone down 4 inches. My appetite is under control and I have been able to eat around 1200 calories/day without feeling famished or deprived. So, I am a happy camper so far. Not bad for an old 77 year old broad. I know I won't keep losing like this but every little bit helps and I can feel the fat go out of my fingers and waist. And I took a brief walk with my dog around my trailer park yesterday and made it without feeling winded. I still have a loooong way to go, but one step at a time. Love this stuff!!

Whats funny is no one here called it a miracle pill! If you notice almost everyone is just adding the supplement to regular diet and exercise, its not a stimulant or a caffine pill! GC works great and I support EVERYONE on this thread that is taking it!

Hi I don't think Dr Oz endorses products without any proof of its credibility, I am sure he does his homework so to speak because he knows there are lots of people out there waiting to hang him especially as he is on International TV...I have (SOME) faith in him even though most people around here think he's sold out totally, in his show he said he was not getting any money out of endorsing the Garcinia supplement...well that aside I think this supplement does work for many and I noticed that my weight is also dropping after I started taking this (don't want to give too much info as its kinda gross to be talking about poo etc but I noticed a change in bowel movements and fat coming off since taking it) and I have missed a few days of exercising and dieting to 1200 carbs so it is doing SOMETHING. So to all those taking it, don't give up yet...I think we will see significant results especially if we combine diet and exercise too.

Maybe not, but so far this week, I have lost almost 6 lbs. And I am a 77 year old woman with practically no metabolism left since I have been dieting most of my life. I know I couldn't have done it without these herbal supplements. They have really cut my appetite down so much - I had a hard time eating 1000 calories yesterday, and before that, I had a hard time keeping the calories under 2000. So, we'll see how I do with these in the future. Maybe it's a fluke, but so far, I am thrilled.

FYI - Dr Oz gets PAID to endorse products. That's why he endorses so many different ones. As someone else in this thread said, his endorsement is meaningless.

There are no miracle weight loss pills. Period.

I bought a bottle of GC at the health food store two days ago - not a brand I recognize but it is the only one they sell - doesn't give any information on whether it is 60% or not, and the instructions say to take it after a meal which I know is wrong. I also bought a bottle of the Green Coffee extract. I started taking them right away and so far have gained 2 lbs. I seem to have more energy, but when I go to sleep, I feel like I am dreaming too much and wake up tired. I have an order of the GC and raspberry ketones which are supposed to help with the appetite, ready to order from Amazon.com, but don't want to spend the money if they don't work or make me feel lousy. Maybe it's the green coffee extract that is bothering me, not really sure. I am older and my tonnage doesn't want to budge so I need a depth charge pill to get it to happen.

Hi everyone, I tried the first dose of Garcina (2) half an hour before dinner one night but I also took another Fat Metabolism supplement which had green tea and after my meal also took Metformin...had no appetite so may have eaten too little and gone into hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)..ended up with a very bad headache for 2 days and nights with profuse sweats as well...on the next day after the headache started I stopped the Metformin as I was worried I may have been Hypo....now approaching with caution as I have lost about a kilo in these 2 days with only 10 mins of exercise as I was very tired and exhausted with the low blood sugar symptoms...note I didn't take my blood sugar just guessing as I had 6 out of 9 symptoms for hypoglycemia...am thinking now I probably shouldn't have mixed the 2 supplements, so now will try taking the garcinia by itself without the fatburner supplement (which had green tea) twice a day and the other in the arvo and see how it pans out. It looks to me that this Garcinia supplement is definitely an appetite suppressant but if you are already eating right and exercising right may not be safe for diabetics if it can make you eat so less that your blood sugar drops very low...so take it with caution.

I started taking GC on Sunday after reading various articles, reviews and watching Dr. Oz's review of the product. Today is Tuesday. It has definitely helped to decrease my appetite which is amazing! I'm also back to using my BodyMedia arm band and Sparkpeople. According to the doctor that was featured in Dr. Oz's review, I should lose 2-3 times more weight with GC when combined with diet and exercise than without GC. I'll try to report on a weekly basis how I'm doing on my SparkPage. :) Best wishes to all!

I bought pure garcinia extract online -90 capsules for about $20. The recommended dosage for WEIGHT LOSS is 3 capsules 3x per day about 2 hours before eating. I started on Thursday august 1sr and also take one raspberry ketone capsule 2x per day. I exercised 2x since then and have reduced my food intact. Lost 4 lbs since Thursday. I'll update my progress in another week

I have bought Genesis Today brand from my local health food store just to try it before committing to a larger order on line. the 60 capsules were $25. I take about 6 a day. So i think I may need to look for better deals on line.
Weight Watchers used to count calories, but they have change their program recently. now they are very much into changing your eating habits and making right choices. this is a great philosophy for someone who is very overweight and needs to lose more than 50lbs. I on the other hand already eat healthy, and need to only lose 10 - 15 pounds. They are telling people that all the vegetables and fruits are "free", but that is not true. Yes, it is better to eat carrots than fries, however, carrots have calories! this is just my personal opinion, what have worked for me in the past and now is watching my caloric intake. It is simple math, if you don't eat as much , you don't gain weight :)
i was working out prior to the diet so i am still doing so. the only thing i have really changed is taking the supplement and REALLY being honest about logging what i eat and watching the calories. hope this helps.

Hi Thanks for the feedback, 1.5 pounds in a week is pretty good, what brand are you using and how many times and at what times of the day do you take it? My shipment hasn't arrived yet, but waiting on it. Can't wait...btw, isn't weight watchers a lot like spark people nutrition with lot of calorie counting? how come it didn't work for you - any idea? Btw I don't think it is water weight you lost btw, because I think how Garcinia works is to reduce your cravings and so you probably subconsciously are eating less by not snacking so much...keep going I think you are doing good - are you exercising as well?

cheers !

Hi I have ordered 3 months supply from a site online which is a pretty good site (ordered before from them other things and they are reliable)...this one is called Nutritional Concepts, Garcinia Max 1000, 60 Capsules per box (1 months supply), this product has Chromium added but no other binders, fillers etc and it has minimum 60%HCA. The review for it stated that it reduced cravings especially for sweet things. Hope it works for me.

1600 mg is the recommended dosage (800 mg twice a day) make sure it is 50%-60% HCA, 1500-1600 mg serv no binders or fillers and included calcium and potassium. It is hard to find but thats what you need for it to be effective. I found garcinia cambogia premium online and was VERY pleased. Let me know if you have any other questions

Hi Amber, Am considering taking this for weight loss, may I ask if it helped with weight loss and also what dose were you taking and how often if it worked even to suppress appetite? Thanks, Dee

I have cycled it once before with no weight gain, by the time I stopped using it I was used to eating smaller portions and continued to do so.

It may work short term, but what happens when you quit taking it? I just wouldn't feel good taking a supplement. However, that is only my opinion. It may work for you and I say great!

I wonder if it was the placebo effect that suppressed your appetite???

Dr Oz may be a very good surgeon and talented in his field, but I think he is outside of the realms of his expertise with much of what he endorses on his shows. HE may be qualified to cut through the garbage and decide what is safe to put into his body via non-certified supplements, etc., the average Joe Blog doesn't have a clue that with certain conditions they shouldn't use this, or that, or that they shouldn't take some concoction when using another - polypharmacy!

1) Dr Oz is not a safe source of advice on weight loss or diet supplements. His endorsement is meaningless.
2) There is no such thing as a "miracle" supplement.
3) It has not been proven safe nor effective. There is no reliable science at ALL backing up his claims.

Skip the supplements, stop watching Dr. Oz, and stick with science that works: Sparkpeople.
