I love Zumba and we have different ages and all fitness levels. It's about getting your exercise and just having fun. Don't be intimated with the moves they will get easier as you learn the routine.

Progress may be slow, but it happens!

I enjoy it and it is fun.

As long as we can dance and sing, we won't sweat the small stuff.

Great exercise while doing something we enjoy doing, which will keep us
doing it, not only for exercise for fun and because we are worth taking a few
minutes out of our crazy lives to do what brings us smile.

Don't let the classes intimidate you...just like you see on the DVDs, instructors choreograph their classes, so each song generally has a specific number/type of move. At first, everyone feels like they have 2 left feet, but if you attend a specific class regularly, you soon get the hang of it. If you watch the instructor, they will be giving non-verbal cues as to what to do next. Definitely, if you get the feel for the basic steps in salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, etc., you should be in good shape.

If you want to get the older Zumba DVD collections to give yourself some variety, a good source is eBay- just put in Zumba, and scroll through.

Zumba love!

I live out in the country so classes are to far away to go to but the older class sounds wonderful. I bought the Zumba CDs off the TV and do them two to three days a week at home and love them. I'm sure I am no way near in proper form on a lot of the moves but they get me moving and I feel the workout so it still must be good for me... Maybe if I keep practicing if I ever get a chance to go to a real class I will not look like such a left foot.

Hi, Anna,

I'm just about to turn 54, and I'm actually a licensed instructor in Zumba Gold, which was created for those who were just not able or ready to Zumba as though they were gazelles on speed :-)

If you want to be in a class where you'll be more in your age group, you might want to take a look around for a Zumba Gold class in your area. They are easy to find...go out to www.zumba.com...you'll see a link that will list out the classes available near your zip code. If you prefer to work out at home, think about getting either the Exhilarate DVD set, or the brand new Zumba Gold DVD set, which includes Zumba Gold Toning. They both include instructions on how to do the steps.

Feel free to contact me if you have more questions- party on!
Best, Christine

Hi, Does anyone out there Zumba? At home or a class? If in a class, is anyone in the class over the age of 50? I think i want to join a class, but do not want to be the old grandma in the class. Thanks, Anna
