LRSILVER - There could be a few different reasons that is happening for you. Here's a page with a few suggestions: www.sparkpeople.com/community/help_answer.

When spark coach links me to message boards, I have to repeatedly sign in. This is super annoying. Why does this happen?

Thanks you Graygossamer (did I spell that right) for asking this question and to everyone for chiming in. I wondered the same thing but still reaping so much benefit from the free stuff on Spark that I haven't looked into Sparkcoach yet...It sounds very reasonable.

I did the one week trial and then signed up for the year. I think it was about 68$.
I find spark coach is good for re-engaging me every morning. I check in, take about ten minutes to do the steps and once a week can ask a question about something that is ME specific.

I think for me the price is well worth it. The last diet/coach program I was on was very formulamatic and cost 300$.

You do not NEED to get diet coach if you can't afford it or don't want it. This site is FREE, even though it takes a staff to run it. Those people need to be paid. They don't live in cardboard boxes and forage at the edge of town for food. I appreciate very much this amazing site.

That's a great idea, HappyDem! :D I have netflix and don't utilize it much. I might have to check with my dad though. I think he would be devastated if I canceled the Netflix. Maybe he could pay for it and I could pay for SparkCoach. lol

SparkPeople is still free, including the trackers and other resources that were on there prior to SparkCoach being created. When we launched SparkCoach we didn’t make any of our free features now part of SparkCoach. SparkCoach has all new functionality for members looking for a bit more support. I signed up for the week's free trial - so far it doesn't impress me. I don't need to sit and watch Sparkguy lecture me - the videos are not inspiring. I know what I'm supposed to do. I know how to track my food, I know I'm supposed to exercise & track it - I don't need to be reminded every day to do that. I don't get excited by earning Sparkpoints for going through the daily steps and getting to the Woohoo! section. I really don't see any real advantage to it.

You don't have access to email the Spark Coaches until you have the paid subscription, so I don't know what benefit that is. Depending on the offer where you are, you may or may not get 2 free exercise DVDs - but they're cheap on Amazon.com and you don't have to wait 6 weeks to get them.

In a way, it reminded me of the Flylady website - you subscribe to it, and they send you emails every day about what you're supposed to do that day, like clean you kitchen sink, load the dishwasher, do a load of wash. After a week of those emails I was ready to tear my hair out. Instead of making me more organized, the reminders annoyed me to the point where it felt like having your mother nag you every day.

My free trial SparkCoach expires in the next couple of days, and I'm not going to subscribe to it.

I just sign up for Spark Coach. I need something more to keep me motivated and on track. I have joined gyms doesn't work for me. I even have a place I can go for free to work out. Can't seem to find the time with three jobs. one full time and two part time. I do a lot of walking, I am going to try and up the walking...

"Signing up" requires no additional information from you, and you can check the price in your SparkCoach settings at any time. :) The free trial is just that... free, no strings attached. You log in, check it out, and if you don't want to do it, you do nothing. :)

I agree with GrayGossamer. I'm glad Sparkcoach is helping people, but it annoys me when they hide the cost until you sign up. If it's a great deal then they need to give the general cost up front. For some people budget is first consideration over everything. I do like Sparkpeople very much and am glad to be a part of it.

I already pay for a gym membership each month so added expense isn't exactly at the top of my list, but that price is mere pennies per day. Glad to know it's so cheap and that others really like it. Something else to add to my Christmas wish list.

I pay that for Netflix, since I don't have cable. Might cancel that and use the money to pay for SparkCoach when my trial is up, because I love it.

I absolutely love SparkCoach.

I took advantage of a 3 month special. To ensure that I take full advantage of it, I treat it like a continuing education course and use all the links and resource materials.

It is awesome! At this rate, I might actually reach my goal by the end of the 3 months!

Our goal is to provide a great service at a value price to help more people reach their goals. So, the general price will be $8.99 per month. But, we might run different types of offers for the first month, or for 3-month packages for example. Also keep in mind you can get a completely free 1-week trial before paying anything or entering your credit card.
