I was thinking that maybe instead of adding meal plans they could have a spot where you check the items that you can't have. I can't eat oats (minor allergy) and oranges (hospital visits for oranges). I can eat whole wheat but not wheat germ. I can eat tomatoes but only for one day in a week or one meal if there are lots. I can eat all the cherry tomatoes I desire.
Adding food to favorites is nice but it doesn't help when you are trying to find the right carb, fat, protein combination and stay within your calories. So any help I can get would be great.
I have recently received the news that I am sensitive to gluten. It would be very helpful if you could provide an option for a gluten free meal plan. You've got vegetarian and diabetic, what about gluten free?
I also need the glutein free meal plan . Was trying to figure out if veg would be better,but my brother has colitis and I have been told I have chronic so one day my brothers doctors told us we needed to do a glutein free.I need all the help with meal plans, menus and recipes even cooking for food in the freezer and slow cooker meals.I walk with a walker and can hardly move I need to lose weight bad my doctor told me I needed bartic surgery but insurance will not pay for it.I have to sit down to cook my weight is 299 I have pros with bad knees hard to keep weight off. Please spark people add glutein free menus and recipes

I have Fibromyalgia and if I eat gluten more than once every three weeks (then I can snatch a doughnut or a bagel from Tim Horton's) my pain doubles. I take way too many pain medications as it is. Gluten free meal plans would be wonderful. Dairy free would also be good as I am just starting to go dairy free because I'm tired of getting nausea and cramps after eating milk/cheese/yogurt. I tired of being in pain and feeling sick. The gluten free mobile app is just a bunch of recipes. I don't need recipes because I usually just substitute my gluten free flour mix for wheat flour.

Hi! My husband is celiac and (as it turns out) I have gluten sensitivity. We've been gluten free since 2011. Does anybody have interest in a gluten free facebook group where we can share recipes for our meal plan? I run my recipes through MasterCook which gives the nutritional information.
Hi, I was just recently diagnosed with Celiac's disease and would also love to see a gluten free section added to SP. I will be using the tracker to help me with losing weight but it would be nice to have either a section with gluten free recipes and/or something that alerts us to possible non-gluten free food. SP could you please consider these options! Thanks bunches =)

Agreed and it totally needs to have more than one option too...like clean foods (whole foods) with grain/gluten free and sugar free for folks who are diabetic, have allergies, etc. Right now you can choose some of the most common diets, but you can't choose more than one together. It would be so helpful. As it is, while tracking helps, the nutritional program isn't very helpful for how I need to eat to stay healthy. I do realize it isn't how everyone else needs to eat.
I tried for months to follow my weight progress and had to just not use the menu plan but make up my own. I would make sure I had the correct calories at the correct time but it was such a pain. I gave up. I have been doing an on my own diet for over a year now and lost over 20 pounds but I would love to have a plan with gluten free foods offered or even if they said whole grain cereal and not shredded wheat.

I hope so....our family is gluten free as my daughter is highly sensitive to gluten so there is no gluten in our household....it is very easy and most recipes adapt well to the use of gluten free flour or pasta etc. We do it effortlessly here..
I am gluten free and high fiber - that's a tough one. I came back to Sparkpeople looking for help. Really hard to track your food when you do so much cooking. I spend so much time in the kitchen, glad I'm retired. Would love to have some help with the meal plans.

I would just like to chime in also in support of gluten- and dairy-free meal plans. I feel like I can make substitutions to the meal plans, but it would be great to get ideas and have everything already listed out for me. I feel like a significant portion of people are at least sensitive to one or the other, so I think it would be well-received.

I will go exploring after I post this. There must be something call Meal Plan that I don't use.
I'm diabetic and use Recipe Makeovers and the daily nutrition analyzer is always reminding me I'm not getting enough carbs. I use low carbs to stay off diabetes medication. I explore the gluten free recipes because they're low carb enough times to make it worth my while.
For me, I was eating low carb before SparkPeople but I was consuming too many calories.

A gluten free meal plan would be amazing. That's the whole reason I joined spark people was to find meal planning as it said it could cater to special needs. Well here I am special needs feeling kind of ripped off after buying the stupid app that also said my e-mail was invalid. I had to come on the big computer to sign up. What a pain already. Then I look at the meal planning and it says "oh just sub with a gluten free item." Often they are much more unhealthy so yeah good thinking spark people.
