For the past seven years, I have walked at least 35 minutes to an hour twice a day. I ended up having open heart surgery this year, and have been once again walking twice a day. I was not allowed to use my arms until recently, and will be starting to do light weights next week.

That's great - joining the gym! I joined my gym 7 years ago?..best thing I ever did! Lifting weights changed my body in ways cardio alone could never do. I'm always curious as to why people are so reluctant to lifting weights...

I am currently in week 6 of a body shaping weight training program. Weeks 1-4 were lighter weights/higher reps lifting 4 days a week w/Wednesday as off day-this phase is weeks 5-8 heavy weights/lower reps; lifting 5 days w/Thursday off day-cardio 3-4 days consisting of spin classes/or/running on the track or treadmill )for 30-45 mins @..I'm seeing tons of changes in body composition and have lost 23 pounds since November
