I agree...I am new and really like this site, but the food data base is frustrating...I've been adding my own info...easier than scrolling thru inaccurate info.

Do understand that information can change. It's very possible that all those entries were made earlier, and then Ronzoni changed the information. :)

If it's something that you have nutrition info and it doesn't match what is listed on your label, you can let us know the information that is incorrect. Coach Denise

OK--I found it! How do yu use the info? If I say 'I don't know' how would you use that info? And how accurate do you want me to be? Must I check it with , say, a container of low fat milk? Or just 'eyeball it?' thanks! Chris

If you click the info button to the left of that task, it will give you more info about that. For that particular task it says the following: "Now you can help out your fellow SparkPeople members and get points for doing it! Simply view the nutrition information for one of the foods in our database by clicking "See full nutritional info" after doing a food search. Then, let us know whether it looks right to you, and you'll get a SparkPoint!" Coach Denise

Thanks for the feedback! A lot of the food database comes from the USDA database, but we do continue to add more items to it. Coach Denise

If you want you can add the stuff that you want that is not listed. All you have to have is the nutritional information. If however you do not have the box you can research it online and then enter it. I have a list going on of things that i have yet to enter. Good luck!

I love SP and appreciate how it has helped lose weight; it's a great tool. I do think, however, the food database could use improvement. 1 -- the database itself does not seem to have nearly as many foods as some others, like Calorie Counter, for example 2 -- major food manufacturers are only partially represented; for example, "Bob's Red Mill" results in 4 products; for people eating trying to eat whole foods, the entire Bob's line would be helpful; "Silk Almond Milk" entries have all been made by individuals, why can't the entire Silk line be added by SP? 3 -- search ability does not seem to be broad enough; "pizza" results in only Pizza Hut products even though there are actually several pizza restaurants in the database Sometimes I give up and get the information from Calorie Counter and enter it myself, which is inconvenient.
Baby steps. Persevere.
