As I've mentioned before I use Kaizen Whey Isolate which I buy at Costco.. Vanilla ice cream flavor.
I add 2 tbsp flax seed, 1 tbsp chia seed, 2 tbsp oat bran and some berries when available. Instead of milk I use Silk True Almond (unsweetened) which only has 30 calories and only 1 carb. (Diabetic)

I find that this starts me off quite well in the morning.

I've been taking GNC On Vanilla and a chocolate one from Costco, Inner something. I mix about 10grams of the protein powder with 10 oz of water, and drink it every two hours on days that I otherwise fast. I find this helps clear out the intestines while keeping me from getting hungry.

On days that I eat normally, I like to mix a full scoop of protein powder with kefir (homemade) and zap it in the blender.Sometimes I'll add a banana and some cinnamon to it.

Dancin' in the streets!

I use Juice Plus protein powder for a lunchtime smoothie every day. Juice Plus is made from fruits and vegetables so also gives me help with getting enough of those valuable foods.

I have been allergic to milk protein since I was a baby....I was on soy formula. I had allergy tests done when I was 40 years old and they showed that I was still allergic to milk protein. I do drink milk and yogurt and have ever since my Doctor told my Mom to go ahead and give me milk probably around one year. Although I do consume dairy I do not do whey protein....it is concentrated and allergies would be worse. I found a egg white protein in powder form at one of my health food stores. I sometimes use it to boost my protein....most times I eat good wholesome food. I tastes good and satisfies my soul.

I use NutriBiotice Rice Protein. I have allergies to wheat, soy, dairy but do best in the mornings when I don't have to think about what I'm going to eat. I have pretty much the same breakfast every morning: Protein Powder, Almond Milk, Blueberries, sometimes add Banana to make it creamier but that adds way too many calories so I try to just stick with blueberries or blackberries. The fruit masks some of the smell as does the Almond Milk but all protein powders have some sort of smell. I've found the rice protein to have less odor than most. If you get the rice plus flax seed type you get Omega-3 as well. Not perfect, but it works for me. Hope this helps you.

I've made smoothies with the whey protein powder for months, but I think eating real food sources of protein like eggs, cheese, Greek yogurt, and lean meats is keeping me fuller, which means I've eaten fewer calories lately. And to save time, I boil eggs and pack up lunch the night before.

I just bought 2 tubs of Dymatize Whey Protein because it was on sale. The profile is pretty decent. I agree that whole foods are better, this is just a quick way for me to get my protein in right after my workout especially since I am on a high protein diet. It's a staple in my diet. :)

I use Lifetime Life's Basics Plant Protein (Pea, Hemp, Rice & Chia Seed) Unsweetened Vanilla Flavor.

I use 1 heaping scoop in a shake consisting of 1/2 cup water, 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk, 1 cup frozen fruit (usually a berry mix), 1/2 an avocado and often add flax oil, coconut oil, probiotic, fish oil, etc.

Ah, protein powder, a subject I could right a book about, but I will give you the short and sweet:
If you are looking for something to tide you over between meals and help boost your protein and fiber go with the Biggest Loser protein products from Designer Whey or the Special K20, if you want that without the fiber go with regular Designer Whey products - all three of these come in packets that you can just add to a water bottle like a flavor packet (though much bigger) so they are super easy to tote around in your purse for when you need one. If you are looking for something that will really boost your protein count go with anything from Ultimate Nutrition (I love their Iso Sensation 93 line) - low carb (which in the case of protein powder means you're not getting lots of sugar), low fat and good taste! My favorite flavors are Cafe Brazil and Chocolate Fudge.

Ebonymom, no matter which kind they use, they're all basically the same thing: A liquid calorie beverage with nutrition added. They don't provide any benefits that eating regular food doesn't, although some people find them useful if they're on the go or doing a calorie-controlled meal replacement. They don't aid or hinder weight loss, anymore than a can of soup does!

I don't really use it to "lose weight" - I have my shake as a pre-workout energy boost, instead of coffee. I don't have time to get up in the morning and make breakfast early enough to work out afterwards (and no, getting up early just isn't an option) but I still need something to power me through that won't sit in my belly like a rock.

Sometimes I use them as a snack instead of something junkier.

I like the RightSize smoothies also. They keep you from getting hungry. The only thing is that if you use them as meal replacements, you really are not eating enough calories for the day. I have to think of other healthy ways to make up for the rest of the day.

I like the Vanilli and Cocoa Bean

I recently change to nutrabio whey protein unflavored and prior that I was using muscle milk powder, even though muscle milk it has a delicious taste but nutrabio is more clean pure protein and read somewhere is favorite to lots of pro bodybuilders,it taste like 2% milk which I have no problem with ,as long it doesnt taste sour is fine with me,after all after a hard work time at the gym I come out so beat up I can careless what a protein taste like I just shovel it down, thats the easy part.

I like Fit4Life Isolate Black Raspberry; then I add a banana, Smart Balance milk (1/2 cup), water (1/2 cup) and some ice cubes. It tastes just like a raspberry shake.

I like GNC Lean in the Swiss Chocolate Flavor. I mix it with a cup of milk & about 8-10 ice cubes. It's like a frosty. And it keeps me satisfied for at least 3-4 hours.

I've recently joined the protein-powder bandwagon. (I wanted a way to make my morning oatmeal stick with me longer, and also to boost the protein content of smoothies.) I checked around online, and found really good reviews of Body Fortress Whey protein powder. It's pretty inexpensive compared to a lot of other powders. I bought a 2-pound container at Walmart for $15 to try it out - it tastes fine (Vanilla). My plan is now to buy it in bulk - if you get 3 containers at once on Walmart's website, they're $13 each, or if you buy in bulk on Amazon, it's even cheaper.

My first choice is still smoothies, but I do mix it into my greek yoghurt with Muesli as well and enjoy that! :)

For those of us lactose intolerant, I found Solgar Whey To Go at Lucky's Vitamins online. Most times you can type in solgarfree when it asks for promo or coupon and get free shipping too.

Hi Everyone:

Thank-you for the responses. I'm still trying to find a powder (unflavoured) that works for me, but I have been able to find a vanilla and chocolate flavour that aren't too bad. I usually do my shopping at GNC and sometimes that have a good sale going on.

cheers

I'll second the comment about Hemp Protein. Lots of great nutritional benefits besides the protein content, and a nice, natural nutty flavour. I like the Manitoba Harvest 70% protein power in Vanilla. It's naturally (and very lightly) sweetened, and gives my morning oatmeal a subtle flavour that I really like. Shelled Hemp Seeds, also from Manitoba Harvest, are a staple in our house too. I sprinkle them on my morning oatmeal, on top of baking, and over vegetables (think broccoli, kale, spinach or edamame) for a rich flavour and a bit of chewy texture. Highly recommended.

I use Kaizen Whey Isolate which I buy at Costco.. Vanilla ice cream flavor. Tastes and smells good. One scoop 35 grams of protein, 150 cals. 1 carb.

Costco sells a couple of different Whey powders but this one has the least ingredients.

I use vanilla whey protein powder and put frozen or fresh fruit in it. Instead of using water, I use skim milk to give it a more creamier taste. As far as the smell goes...yeah it's bad, but I just scoop it out quickly and don't put my nose too close - LOL!

I have also been using Designer Whey for several years. I usually purchase the vanilla and then add chocolate powder and/or berries for additional flavor.

Never used it. If it's not close to the way in came out of the ground, I try to avoid eating it.

I've been using Hemp Protein powder. I use it in smoothies. It doesn't smell or taste bad in a smoothie.

I've been using Designer Whey protein powder for many years. Chocolate and Strawberry are my favorite. I make smoothies using either milk or yogurt with frozen berries. Sometime I add a dash of orange juice. Also, I will add in tsp of olive oil to get in my healthy oil.
