Not seeing a change on the scale. It hits me pretty hard, then I immediately feel guilty, thinking that I have done something wrong. I try to focus on the fact that my pants are looser around the waist, and tell myself that I am doing a great job....it just takes time.

I agree with you. When I found my job, I told my family that there are certain classes I have to take in order to maintain my health. For example every Sunday I take a 7pm yoga class. I started with that and then started to find pockets of time. once a week a get up at 5 45 to do my 4 mile walk. I hate mornings but I say to myself just once a week I can do it. With this website it is hard to slip very far! And if you do it is there to shuffle you up with encouragement

When I want to eat but have already gone over my calories. An then eat anyway. Trying to figure out what to make for dinners and lunches that is good filling and everyone in the family will eat it. I want to lose weight but I am trying to figure out how not to give up everything I like to eat because i know it wont last if i do. I want a life style change not a diet. I know I wont make it on grapefruit and water...

Poor results on the scale and when I give in and have a bad eating day. Sometimes I feel board of exercise as well and that sucks but I'm trying to find new and exciting ways to workout.

I have to agree with Cathy - my scale does the same thing. I have just learned to always step on/off three times. I would love to always take the lowest reading, but unfortunately I know that is not correct. One day there was a 4 pound difference! And it is suppose to be a very good and accurate scale!

Inconsistent readings on my scale. I bought a Weight Watchers digital scale to get away from the bouncy spring-loaded readings of my old scale, thinking the digital would be more accurate. However, one day last week my weight fluctuated more than 2 pounds, just by stepping on and off and on and off again 3 times . . . . other than stepping on and off the scale, I did not move. I didn't drink water, eat anything or even change clothes or shoes. Oh well, I know it doesn't change anything, but it's still frustrating.

The scale! Especially when you track everything and work out and there is little or no change or worse a slight gain.

My biggest discouragement is negative people around me. Next would be when I give into temptation... and that is almost always....

I joined the beat the odds/medication and weight gain support group on SP and just can't lose the weight. I have to take meds for a mood disorder and sometimes the meds I take cause weight gain. I have listed reasons I exercise which are many, but most of you put down weight loss right. Well some of us just maintain. It would be nice to lose. I'm at the point my feet are hurting and I feel it in my hips and knees. I don't work on my feet and don't have kids to chase, but I do enjoy being active. I value my health, but the most discouraging part is watching my body go downhill and not getting many dates, watching my friends getting married while I sit out alone.
