I like the bonus wheel - today, finally, I got 50 goodie points. Goodie points are so rarely even on my wheel - so obviously, I can hardly ever get them. The sign in wheel also has low points most days, once in a while there is a chance for a good spin. But, this isn't money, folks - it's points. Love what it is - and love Spark People for what it can do for you and what it can help you do for yourself. For me, the point isn't points - it's POUNDS. Pounds gone!emoticon

I LOVE the bonus wheel and I don't know why precisely but I make sure that I get the points to spin it. Even if I only get two bonus points, I feel as if I'm getting something for nothing, as if my efforts are being acknowledged in some way.

I try to make sure I get a bonus spin every day. I would love to "spin a prize". I have gotten goodie points which were fun to spin but have never seen a prize.

I always forget about it, so when it pops up, I'm always suprised. Yes low numbers are disappointing, but when you hit big, it more than makes up for it.

Not only do I like the bonus wheel, I like the motivation I have to GET the bonus wheel. I usually don't get more than 7 points, but i have seen others get the top amount so I know it's possible.

I thinkthe idea of lower points on the wheel is another way to ensure consistency and logging in frequently - its a bit like starting a spark for eg 8 cups of water per day or logging your food /exercise.

If you got eg 25 points per log in you could whizz up through the point levels really quickly which might make people only log in now and again.

It is optional though. If it bugs you don't bother spinning it. I like it though.

Sometimes I get slightly disappointed that I only did a 3 point spin, but I feel that is part of the game. Never have I felt entitled to get more points because it's a bonus spin.

The whole idea is, it's a bonus not a given. Just like the log in points. Some days you get a lot and other times you don't. The whole Spark People site is cool especially for free. I have gotten so much out of this the points don't matter but I do like seeing them add up. So what if you don't get a real prize. The trophies are cool and I'm doing this for myself anyway.

I will take what bonus points I can get, but I am all about more points.

How's this for an idea? The minimum points on the bonus wheel should be more than the points I got on the sign-in wheel.

Um, I totally like it. I think it is a motivational tool and it DOES make you come to the site which inevitably gives me more motivation to try to be healthy each day. If you don't like it, don't use it. But I think it is a wonderful idea of Spark to do something that keeps people coming back to this site daily because being here keeps me doing the right things!! emoticon

I am looking at total sparkpoints of all sparkers. The number is enormous already. I think there is no reason for these numbers and our individual numbers to make huge leaps. Once in awhile our bonus points are 50 or 100 goodie points. Fine! I am perfectly happy getting any number of bonus points. You don't need to make more and more trophies because people have huge point totals. Thanks for even thinking of the bonus system. I hope it encourages people to push themselves and post often. What I like to see is people posting often, not how many points they have. If you already post often, you have discovered the power of this community. Bonus points can attract those who need an incentive to show up.
emoticon Hopefully. Chris

I agree, if you don't like the wheel, don't spin! My friends and I update our status with our low spins, and joke about our luck. I think it is fine the way it is. Kind of like money: print more and it is worth less!

Thank you to Spark Guy for making this site so wonderful, and SO FREE!

I too enjoy the Bonus Wheel. For me, it forces me to log in and do various things every day, so that I qualify for the bonus spin. That certainly doesn't stop me from doing even more - its just another motivational tool. I usually try to "qualify" for the bonus wheel by doing trivia, blogging, reading email, polls, etc. Then I do my food and my exercise. Then when I realize how many points I've gotten so far that day, I keep going if I have time.

I think the bonus wheel has been an excellent way for those who would not other wise track their food or read articles. It makes you work for the extra points. I enjoy spinning the wheel no matter what the bonus points. Thank you Sparkpeople for a wonderful site where we can learn and achieve a healthy lifestyle.

"You're never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream..." C.S. Lewis

I figure the Bonus Wheel is a GAMBLE, not a sure thing, and I don't need high points. It's simply FUN, like all the little motivators on SP. Not all of us need higher points to have a little bit of FUN. I'd say take it all lightly! Then the big number spins feel special. Keep the Wheel as it is.

You’ll get where you want to go as long as you are taking more steps in the right direction than the wrong one.

I guess I think of getting enough points to achieve the bonus wheel as a useful marker to tell me when I've done a reasonable amount of Sparkpeople for the day. I log on, spin first, do my thing for 15-20 points, spin again, I'm usually done.

It doesn't bother me that sometimes the points on the bonus wheel are low. It's like a carnival prize - sometimes they're awesome, sometimes they aren't, but the point (for me) is playing the game.

If the bonus wheel frustrates you that much, you COULD just not spin it.

I love the bonus wheel! If I get 3 points, 25 points or 50-100 goodie points, it makes my day.

I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

I got tired of starting over and working back to where I was, so I have stopped giving up!

a 25pt bonus would make me jump for joy. Anything else is just bleh.

If you believe you can you will! If you believe you can't you will not!

While the idea is good...spinning the "Bonus Wheel" and only getting 5 points is a joke. For a real bonus, the minimum number of points should make a real difference -- instead of giving a few points that any of us could get by "making a recipe" or "posting on a board".
Get those points started at 25 or cancel the "bonus wheel".
