It is too cold here at the moment for anything iced but I am beginning to look forward to a nice hot cup of green tea, especially the one with jasmine flowers.

After living in Japan, I am addicted to green tea. Drinkers beware though since tea does contain caffeine, since it is a small amount most companies are not required to note this on the packaging. My favorites are natural green tea leaves (loose) with a mixture of other flowers and leaves. It is available from most Japanese grocery stores. In addition I love Chinese Jasmine green tea! Yummy! If only macha was a little less in the sugary department I could drink that more often too!

I tried the green tea with orange and the green tea with apple & pear and they are very nice so I think I have cracked it at last and will drink it every day from now on. I will try a slice of lemon in the next cup.Who knows I may even become a devotee of green tea.

As I live in Scotland UK we do not have many places to buy green tea but Tesco have just deliverd my groceries for the week and as they sell Twinings brand I have now got several different green tea blends to try.

I drink five cups of green tea a day. Five days a week. On the weekend I indulge in a great cup of freshly brewed gourmet coffee with cinnamon and skim milk. I purchased several box of a variety of green teas from China and Japan from a 99 cents store. They are quite good and I'm pleased with the economy. I've also tried the Kirkland green tea (I sampled it at Costco) it's also very good. It's comparable in taste to the tea I drink in a Japanese resturant.

I particularly like mint green tea, and the real Chinese green teas, as well as Japanese Sencha and brown rice teas. They should not be brewed too long, and the water should be brought to a boil, then let cool for a minute before adding to the tea, then brewing 2-3 minutes (depends on the tea).

I drink a cup each of Tazo Zen Green Tea and Stash Mint Tea every work day. I add about 0.5 - 1 tbsp of honey. I'm cutting back on that.
I will only drink Black Tea if I need to stay awake. I do tend to try a variety of teas which you'll see in my pantry but mint and green are my staples.

I don't like the test of green tea as much as regular tea, but I do keep a green tea supplement handy. I don't take it every day but on days where I am really having a hard time fighting the cravings (especially right before my cycle), it does help me feel less hungry.

I use my old drip coffee maker. I turn on the heating plate, fill the glass pot with 8 cups of water, loose green tea and place on the hot plate. I use a strainer to pour into a glass. When I finish the pot I check off my 8 glasses of water. Any left overs goes into the 'fridge for tomorrow.

I have been drinking Green Tea for 5 years or more now. I barely drink black tea anymore and have never been a coffee drinker. My favorites that I prefer after trying many are Tetley's Earl Grey Green (for mornings, bergamot flavor gives me more gusto in the mornings I find), Tim Hortons Green Tea (lemongrass in it), I tend to love this one for my evening cup of tea. Then I just love Stash's Green and White Fusion, it is so subtle, I have that one whenever I want it. I try to shoot for 3-4 cups a day which I think is the going rate for the anti-oxidant value. I used to use 1/2 pk Splenda but have cut that out and now using 1/2 tsp or so of sugar. I think I feel better for that. Either way, I am basically drinking green tea and water these days. Cutting out the diet sodas completely if I can.
