I know my skim milk is fortified with calcium and Vitamin D
Spinach Kale Okra Collards Soy beans White beans Some fish, like sardines, salmon, perch, and rainbow trout Foods that are calcium fortified, such as some orange juice, oatmeal, and breakfast cereal Calcium is what controls the CONTRACTION of the heart as it is pumping blood through the body. Magnesium is what controls the relaxing of the heart, when no blood is being pumped out. The best way to get more calcium is to improve your diet.

I love skim milk, but I don't like the amount of sugar in it. I like unsweetened almond milk as a replacement. It does have less calcium than cow's milk as well as soy milk which I have not tried yet. I take a calcium supplement to ensure I get enough per my Drs. advice.

Cow's milk is the best for calcium and protein. Soy milk and almond milk have added calcium and some other nutrients are added, so they work well too if you like them. Personally I use 2% cow's milk. I know nonfat is probably better, but I don't like the taste of it and it just does nothing for my cereal. If I weren't drinking 2% dairy milk I'd probably use soy milk, since soy has a lot of nutritional benefits. Some people love almond milk, but to me it has no taste.
