I see this comment too often "If you use canned beans, the sodium levels will be higher so omit the salt." Could this be replaced with "If using canned beans, DRAIN AND RINSE thoroughly to reduce high sodium content - and omit added salt in recipe, too."?
Unless absolutely necessary to ensure salt is required to make a recipe work correctly, I do not add salt to anything. I've gotten spectacular results with herbs and spices - and Mrs. Dash!
My kids grew up without a salt shaker on the table! Bon Apetit!
