you can use nutritional yeast for lots of things! you can use it as a vegan parmesan cheese substitution- I made a good fake parmesan topping with nutritional yeast and almonds, it's great on pasta. sometimes I'll also use it to help thicken a recipe, or sprinkle some on my tofu before pan-frying it as a healthier alternative to breadcrumbs.

when I first bought some I had no idea what to do with it, and it took a while to use up the container. but once I started experimenting with it a little bit, I found that's really versatile and now I use it all the time!

I definitely eat it- I make a salad dressing with 1tbsp Nutritional Yeast, 1Tbsp Olive Oil, and 1-2Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar. I love it- sort of helps emulsify the whole deal.

I bought mine the first time at Whole Foods. This store is an hour drive for me and truthfully I wasn't that impressed with it. I am sure it is much better in the USA, but I found it very expensive.
We have a store called Bulk Barn near our house that sells it. Some of the grocery stores do too.

Where to buy it? Amazon.com
I sometimes see it in larger grocery stores which have a health food section.

I use nutritional yeast a lot because I am a vegan.
Check out the website Oh She Glows. Angela is also a vegan and she makes the BEST meals and posts her recipes.
If you Google oh she glows, then when you are on the site check the top right side of the page for the search, enter nutritional yeast. There you will find many pages of Angela's tested recipes.
My husband who is a meat lover loves most of the recipes that I have made.

I hope this helps.

I'm having trouble finding a place to buy it. Is it available in regular supermarkets? What section?

I use it when I dehydrate my kale chips. I also use it in sauces and dressings.

I like it sprinkled on scrambled eggs, and on a bowl of chili.

I mix a little bit in with my mashed cauliflower - probably would be great in mashed potatoes too.

Today I learned about nutritional yeast from a grocery store toxin eliminating healthy eating session. The presenter suggested using it in salad dressings, as well as mixed with a little coconut oil and rice pasta for a better version of mac and cheese. I tried it...it was ok. It did taste cheesy, but had an interesting aftertaste. I think I could get used to it. She also suggested sprinkling it on popcorn...as it is supposed to taste like cheesies. We'll see! :P

I was wondering if anyone else uses nutritional yeast in their recipes. Any suggestions for other ways to use it? Thanks!
