How about some peanut butter to put on bread, crackers or celery? Travels easy and does not have to be kept cold. I think it's a perfect time to use protein bars or drinks. I like Atkins or GNC. I prefer the shakes not chilled. If that doesn't work, stick with the bars. I would also consider making a sandwich at the hotel and bringing it along as the first meal. I would not use mayo, but mustard would be fine. You can freeze a juice box (look for 100% juice) and use as a mini ice pack and then have with your snack or meal. That would probably fit in a purse.
