MHFARRELL79, does your recipe call for 8 oz. of dry pasta? I guess I'd try to check out a pasta box to see if it gives a serving for both dry and cooked, I know do. Then, if it's 2 oz = 1 serving = 1 oz cooked, I'd say use 4 oz. of the tofu noodles, if that makes sense.

I have tried the tofu angelhair pasta....after thoroughly rinsing the I heated as the packaging recommended. The taste was fine, but the texture sort of turned me off. I will try a larger "noodle" next time to see if that changes my overall opinion.
The bag I bought only had two servings in it. I wonder if it might be easier to use the serving size as your guide.

Does anybody know how to sub these into a recipe that measures the pasta when it's dry? For example: 8oz. of dry pasta = ?oz. of the Shirataki pasta

You definitely need to rinse and zap the tofu noodles. I diod that, then put them in a pan with a bit of butter and garlic. We used them with tomato sauce and turkey meatballs, and they were yummy. With the white yam noodles, I took them to a picnic as a side dish pasta salad with basil, a little parmesan cheese, cherry tomatos and balsamic vinaegrette dressing to have a low-cal, tasty side dish for myself and my parents-in-law (who are doing WW) especially to have.

I've been tempted to try the tofu noodles. I heard that they are more suited for Asian dishes and/or should be rinsed to get some of the undesirable smell/taste out. Maybe next time they go on sale I'll pick some up. We have them in our regular supermarket in Charlotte, NC.

You can get Skirataki noodles (tofu or white yam) at many health food stores int he US. The tofu ones are 20 calories for 4 oz. The yam ones say they are 0 calories, with 5 servings in a bag, but then they say they have one carb. And, since 1 carb - 4 calories, I count it as each serving having 4 calories. They're both pretty good, I like the texture of the tofu noodles better.

This seems to be a UK product. I haven't been able to find it in the US stores.

There is a new pasta which is called Eat Water Pasta. A normal portion of pasta is approx 350 calories but eat water pasta is 7 calories. It is made up of water. I ordered the noodles and put this in a recipe of mine which contains taglietelle and could hardly tell the difference. My recipe which was the usual 5 1/2 weightwatchers (old points) took it down to 2 1/2 points with the eat water noodles. Go onto their website and take a look, i preferred the noodles the best.
