I use the Almond Breeze unsweetened and it is 40 calories per cup

I also Like the greek yogurt FAGE lower in calorie than sour cream and you can add fruits or veggies for different flavors

The correct spelling of the mushrooms is shiitake, not with 1 i :)

Still, an overly aggressive filter.

I've lost about 35lbs and gone from slightly over "obese" by BMI to just into "healthy"!

And I can now run for over 5k!

I posted this elsewhere but it should go here too:
I mentioned in passing the Toroni sugarfree syrups. These are sweetened with splenda ( I can not deal with aspartame). I especially like the almond, vanilla and black cherry and there are many others. I get them at Cost Plus but there are places to buy them on line.

Tonight for dessert I am eating my approximation of black cherry jello. I use gelatin, black cherry Kool Aid (the unsweetened kind and toroni syrup). The taste is almost identical to the cherry Jello I grew up with - a nice comfort food. Of course you can add stuff like low fat sour cream or yogurt or cottage cheese.

Low fat plain yogurt - I don't think the nonfat is worth it, low fat is usually so much better. You can also often use in place of sour cream in recipes!

Arnold Bakery Light 100% Whole Wheat bread - 40 calories a slice, I think it's better than the comparable Pepperidge Farms one, and no HFCS!

Trader Joe sells these 100 calorie packets of kettle corn that are really good. I keep them in the car in case I find myself starving.

I love mushrooms! We live in Santa Cruz and hunt for wild ones. Lately we have had lots of Boletes (cepes/porcini) I used to always make them with cream but can't do that now. I have discovered that if you use pam, the tiniest bit of oil or benecol to get them sweating then add a little chicken broth and dab of tomato paste it lets them cook enough to soften. As this cooks off the mushrooms are perfect.

I have also noticed that if you get store bought mushrooms that are fresh, they are taste sliced raw as substitute chips with a low cal dip.

Also great with finely shredded cabbage and a sesame ginger or peanut dressing

Love the mushroom story! Funny!

I have been living on popcorn. I put it in a plain paper lunch bag with no oil and pop it for 2 min 40 seconds in the microwave. Spritz with I Can't Believe its Not Butter Spray and a little salt, and you have a filling, low-cal, high crunch factor snack.

Grapes are also great for sweet cravings.

Not "products" exactly, but good nonetheless.

Something I have found very helpful for when I feel like I want to eat LOTS but keep in calorie range...

Mushrooms! Roasted or fried in a tiny bit of oil they are very low calorie, have equal carb/protein in them and you can just eat LOADS for little impact.

What is amazing to me is all the low calorie products to work with that are much better than in the past.

I think it would be helpful to have a place on the Spark site for this. I know not all products are available in all places but maybe if there is something you read about her you could request it from a local store or order it on line.

e.g. of a few of the products I have found helpful:
Fat free 1/2 and 1/2.
Fat free cream cheese and ricotta,
low fat sour cream,
low fat butter ( like benecol ).
One of my favorite new products is the orig. Almond Breeze in the fresh version in the milk department, only 60 kcal/8oz. I now use this instead of milk.

Great sugar substitutes that I can tolerate.
I found a lowfat best food mayo made with olive oil.
Oh, also The cp wonton soups they have been selling at our costco - only 115 kcal and they are great. You can add more vegetables like bok choy, japanese mushrooms and green onions. (By the way I used the name for these mushrooms that begin with sh and ends with itake and it was rejected for bad language - pretty funny)

Black Bean "Hummus"
Submitted By: SP_STEPF

This dip doesn't have many of the same ingredients as hummus, but it is about the same consistency. I spread this on bread or tortillas with vegetables for a quick sandwich, I dip carrots and celery into it, and I eat it with tortilla chips for a snack. Full Recipe
